I bought this tent recently and put it up in my garage a couple of weeks ago to make sure it was okay for my West Texas camping trip. I didn't watch your video on putting it up but it went up like a dream. Of course dreams can turn to nightmares and I came running inside looking for a video on how to take down the tent. THANK YOU FOR THIS LIFESAVER or should I say tent saver! Today I'm watching both videos as a refresher because my camping trip is in a few days.
Super awesome! So glad to hear my video was able to help you. Funny enough, this video was the result of someone asking about takedown right after I published my first video on this tent and I couldn't believe I forgot to include it! So I guess it's been helpful because many times you can't get things like this back in their cases. Thank you for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment. Please accept my apologies for the delayed response.
@@javosgarage I didn't even expect a reply, but since you responded . . . What should I buy to go under this tent? I know you don't want to put it directly on the ground and you don't want a footprint bigger than the tent. So, I don't want to put you to trouble, but if you know what I should buy and what size, that would be great. I did take this camping and it is perfect for two 70 year olds who want to use cots and put 2 lawn chairs in the tent. We are just happy to still be able to camp in Big Bend at our age. Cots because we can't easily get up off the ground etc.
@@mklitt No problem. I completely understand. In regards to something under the tent... When the boys are doing backyard camping I just set it up on the grass. It has a sturdy floor we haven't had any issues. However, when we setup in the mountains I bring a heavy duty tarp from Harbor Freight and place that on the ground before putting the tent up. I bought a little bigger tarp than what we need in case I need to set something on it next to our tent otherwise I just fold it so it's roughly the same size as our tent. Here's a link to it if you want to check it out: www.harborfreight.com/collections/extreme-duty-tarps/12-ft-x-16-ft-silver-and-black-extreme-duty-weather-resistant-tarp-59272.html I hope this answers your question. Let me know if you need anything else.
@@James Coble - Super glad to hear this video was helpful to you James. Quite frankly I was amazed at how easy this tent was to take down and get back in the bag. It seems like whenever you get something like this it's like trying to solve a puzzle to get everything back in there. Enjoy your tent!
I"ve been using this tent for 2 years with my kids and love it! However, I've been working up a sweat, rolling it up, and struggling to get it back in the bag every time! Although it seems pretty simple when you do it, I absolutely needed this video to show me where I've been going wrong. Didn't think it was possible, but I'm going to love this tent even more now! Thank you!!
You're very welcome Natalie! Super glad to hear my video was able to help you. This is a great tent that has held up really well for my family and I hope it continues to do well for yours too. Thank you for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment.
I must apologize. This is an old video and I just finished watching your first one about this tent and requested a "Take Down" vid, without knowing you already had it. You are great. Almost like holding me hand to get this done. Thank you very much! @@javosgarage
I’m bringing my kids for first time camping this July and I was debating which tent I should buy! After watching both of your video I immediately order this tent from costco😄
Thanks for the video! I'm about to take this thing camping for the first time and just checked out both your videos. I'm sure that will save a lot of potential confusion for me!
I purchased this tent from Costco a few days ago and just unboxed & pitched it for the first time to inspect it for defects. I didn’t find any though. Looking forward to spending a night at the campground in it. Thanks for the videos!
@@RedHotBillyPeppers thank you. Was the color the same as in the video or was it the yellow version? I can’t seem to find this color way anywhere around me
@Billy Zachary - I super glad to hear your tent seems to be really good for you Billy. I hope yours will do as well for you as ours has for us. Have fun and enjoy it! Also, thank you for taking a moment to answer @Anita Lima 's questions on availability location. Thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment - much appreciated!
Very helpful - thank you! You make it look EASY! We are waiting for our new tent to arrive - super excited! Enjoyed both your set up and take down videos on this tent :)
@Andrew Young - You're very welcome Andrew! It always puts a big smile on my face to hear one of my videos has been helpful to someone. Thanks for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment - much appreciated!
FYI: Those red rain cover straps are adjustable. Cinch those to keep the roof taut. The Guy Lines can be used to secure the “entire” tent. The pole stakes add some stability, but are not going to keep the tent from blowing out the stakes in high winds alone. As for backyard camping... don’t forget to turn off your sprinkler system if it’s on a timer... 👍🏻😉 and be mindful of water when packing the tent. If it’s wet, be sure to dry it out as soon as possible after returning home. As for you not being a “tent expert”, I’d say you qualify as one now. 👍🏻
@Shannon McCure - Hi Shannon. The tent did fantastic! We used it several times over the summer and couldn't be happier with our purchase. No problems with it and even had a pretty heavy rain one night with no leaks. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if something were to happen with this one. Thanks for stopping by!
