Good effort, but even if you don't care about power, you can't really put aside that the higher power consumption means spending more on cooling, plus silicon lottery becomes a factor when overclocking. so what there is no need to upgrade for atleast two more generations on intel if you have a Z790 II version motherboard and a 14 th gen processor especially at the high end you also already get good ddr5 speeds support upto 8000+ mhz, wifi 7 and when it comes to productivity intel whoops amd on consumer level and gaming is just as good in some titles better the only good thing about amd is it power efficiency and the 3d v cache on x3d processor which gives games a little bit more edge compared to intel processors but not in all games mostly people who will buy intel i9 and i7 will have a beefy cooler anyways and the power consumption wont be an issue for them.

How do you get a 14700K stable at 5.9 GHz?? Did you disable Hyperthreading and run crazy voltages? The Intel platform gains more from RAM overclocking btw, that’s where the real gold can be found.
@teambuddy7148
@teambuddy7148 Месяц назад
Achieving a stable 5.9 GHz on the 14700K typically requires careful tuning. Here are some key steps and considerations: 1. **Voltage and Cooling**: Yes, achieving such high clock speeds usually necessitates high voltages, which in turn requires robust cooling solutions, such as custom water cooling or high-end air cooling, to manage the increased thermal output. 2. **Hyperthreading**: Disabling Hyperthreading can help in reaching higher clock speeds as it reduces the overall thermal and power load on the CPU. However, this means sacrificing multi-threaded performance, so it's a trade-off depending on your use case. 3. **Silicon Lottery**: Not all CPUs are created equal due to manufacturing variances. Some chips naturally overclock better than others, so results can vary widely based on the specific CPU you have. 4. **RAM Overclocking**: You’re right that the Intel platform benefits significantly from RAM overclocking. High-frequency RAM with tight timings can provide substantial performance gains, often more so than pushing the absolute limits of the CPU clock speed. To achieve the best balance, it’s essential to find the optimal settings for both your CPU and RAM. Combining a moderate CPU overclock with aggressive RAM tuning often yields the best overall system performance.

@@_xewo_9856 the point is "CPU isn't utilized" if the program is not utilizing the CPU 100 you can't check the stability. Games can't take the full advantage of all CPU cores. Even an i9 9900k won't be 100% utilized in games(according to monitoring softwares) but it will deliver less FPS. But the applications like cinebench will stress the CPU and take the complete advantage of CPU thus showing 100% usage in monitoring software(MSI afterburner).

@@gameotic1 Incorrectly, (today's) games use at least 1/2 cores at 100% but the stability of the same does not depend on this but on the given instruction set. Cinebench is just a brute scoring and power software that will test your entire CPU but not the individual core. Precisely it uses the best core identified by the system, only OCCT allows control and cyclic testing (with several sets of instructions), which of your cores (single core) is unstable. I can get my 7950x to 5.5ghz all core without crashing and complete the 30 minute Cinebench test, as I open Overwatch 2 the system crashes. Forget Cinebench to check CPU stability, Cinebench is just scoring with an unrealistic instruction set for 100% of users

Temps are in the safest range possible, never exceeding 63c in summer's hottest days using Y-cruncher as a benchmark test. As soon as you can keep the temps in the safe range ( voltage addicted, with more Vcore you need a better cooling headroom) you can OC your 7800X3D also at 5.1-5.2GHz but it is not neccessary. 7800x3d is still powerfull enough right out of the box. And ofc i was only changing GPU's in my system. 32GB DDR3 2400MHz OC with active cooling because those dimms are only 2133 so i cranked a voltage a bit and also i shortened the timing as well by 1 so i have pretty much the fastest memory what my mobo can support with better timing. I experienced ZERO bluescreens what so ever during that 11y OC maraton. But even at those clock speeds, the CPU is a bottleneck using 1070Ti GPU. There is no point to upgrade GPU for me
