Tried installing each piece separately, then tried connecting the whole length end to end and then putting them side to side. SOOOO much easier connecting them all at once. Thanks for the tip!!!

I really appreciate the time you took, to show the details for a good install. I especially like the hints, such as placing one's thumb, while cutting with the box cutter. I don't know what DIY'ers would do without videos like yours. The Cortec company's, installation instructions, are pathetic, to say the least. I would give them a 1 out of 10. Thanks again, for very useful instructions!

Just did my kitchen floor with Coretec Plus enhanced flooring, (Manila Oak). The installation method shown in this video of locking an entire row end to end and then assembling the side joints clearly worked the best for me. I tried the factory recommended technique of assembling each piece separately but found it to require more effort and force. I have looked at all the interlocking vinyl plank flooring installation videos but this guy's method made the job easier. Just make sure that all your joints are aligned accurately and flush before assembling the next one. If the floor doesn't fit together easily, ( just light tapping with a rubber mallet) then you are doing something wrong. I have done a lot of floors but this is clearly the easiest.

Ruben, I want to thank you for talking about what a great product this is. After installing a “lesser” name product in my downstairs bathroom, & being absolutely frustrated with the “locking system,” I decided to go with CORETec. What an amazing Product! You are so right, in touting the Products “locking mechanism“! It was a breeze to work with! I have already purchased enough Product to install in my Kitchen, dining, & laundry areas. Again, thank you for your helpful videos & answering my many questions, Ruben! You are the reason this DIM’er (Do-It-Myselfer) felt confident enough to try my hand at installing LVP! I couldn't find a video on your site detailing the best way to finish off vinyl plank flooring in a bathroom. By finish I mean how do you seal the tub against the floating floor. The floor is supposed to float so do you caulk around the tub anyway? A dealer told me to put baby threshold molding around the tub and caulk it. It seems like water could still creep under the extended part of molding. I plan on installing COREtec vinyl plank tiles (1 ft x 2 ft) in a bathroom over linoleum. I also haven't found a video anywhere on the proper way to install these tiles. I'm assuming it isn't all that different. Thanks for all the videos. Lots of tips & tricks.
@FloorsbySouthernboys
@FloorsbySouthernboys 5 лет назад
Snapper44 Thank you sir, I just installed some of that exact same tile that you’re talking about in a couple bathrooms last week, and I did just that I cut them fairly close to the tub and then caulked around them, in that small of an area as long as the opposite wall from the tub is not tight I do not believe it will ever cause any issue

Thanks for this video. I have watched just about every LVP video you have uploaded. Im thinking about putting this coretec in a house I just bought. For the main floor, I have a kitchen and hallway with ceramic tile flanked by a living room on one side and a dining room on the other both with carpet. I know I have wood subfloors under the carpet areas. What is usally under ceramic tile floors? Do they just put thinset on the wood subfloor and lay tile over it? Im dreading getting all that tile out or paying an arm and a leg to have someone do it. But I would really like a nice main level floor of LVP throughout. I dont even know where to begin. Thanks for the helpful channel!
@FloorsbySouthernboys
@FloorsbySouthernboys 6 лет назад
StuProductions They usually put a concrete board over the wood subfloor and then install ceramic tile, it really is not too awful bad to take up if it’s on a wood subfloor
@FalcoINC
@FalcoINC 6 лет назад
@@FloorsbySouthernboys thanks for the reply! So something like a large floor scraper to get under it and pry up the cement board and the tile should come up wit it i guess? Then that should give me an even surface with the wood subfloor in the carpet areas.
@FloorsbySouthernboys
@FloorsbySouthernboys 6 лет назад
StuProductions Possibly in May may have to come up separate from the tile because the concrete board will be screwed to the floor and trying to take them both up at once might be a little tough

Cortec Reps tell you to use 6 mil plastic due to cortec not allowing concrete to breathe. If you put plastic on concrete your gonna get water accumulated over time. We use a vapor emission concrete sealer under Cortec. But we have slab on grade and there is always some moisture content. It would be great if they used a unlin locking system.

After not liking the idea of spending thousands on a new Cortec floor I made some phone calls , #1 Dealer did not know. #2. dealers installer says no way. #3 Dealer calls Reginal manager of CoreTec ….His instructions say as follows....Lift to 30 then simply Slide IT OUT !! {feeling stupid} so simple..Hope this helps...D

I'm sorry I didnt watch the video. I only do carpet and I'm quite new so if you mentioned what kind they were in the video I'm sorry for not watching. You liked my comment but didnt tell me the best knee pads preferably for carpet. Literally the backs of my legs are killing me and the top of my shin bone. Any recommendations would be extremely appreciated. I've been watching your carpet videos for days and days , what you do can only be explained with experience. It's like magic.!!!

ColoradoAwesomeSauce I couldn’t figure out how to copy a link on my phone, I am at home now I will go to my desktop and send you a link to the kneepads that I have on this video, this is the only kind of kneepads I wear, I think they’re very comfortable, I have recommend them to other people and they love them, so they’re worth a try

You just make it look easy somehow? It's like freaking magic! One day , one day my goal is to have your skill set !!! Thankyou for sharing all of your videos!

@@FloorsbySouthernboys i am in a different country where choices are maybe limited . Flooring shops try to sell many outdated stuffs seemingly . Glued down very thin Vinyl Sheets , Linoleum , Vinyl Planks . Vinyl Planks with click locking like laminate. And SPC with its promising features. Very hard to decide. For Kitchen, TV and some flights of stairs . What would be a good choice in your opinion?

Personally, I think it's one of the stupidest locking systems out there. it's an inconvenience to the installer. Unless you account for that in your bid. Lol

Tried installing each piece separately, then tried connecting the whole length end to end and then putting them side to side. SOOOO much easier connecting them all at once. Thanks for the tip!!!
