lol I wish I had watched this before I started installing my flooring. It’s going through the whole first floor except the bathroom. I’ve got the master bedroom and closet, laundry area, hallway, kitchen and half the living room done. I was looking for a way to close a gap that appeared without removing half the work. It’s been a learning curve and I just figured out the flipping the board trick in the living room

I used this same home flooring. From home depot. It is amazing 5 years later and it still looks like day 1 when it gets mopped. I even used it in my living room that is 20x24, no random gaps, no weird pop outs at all.

As a certified journeymen Floorlayer- I say good job on this one1 Its a great guide for a DIY and hits a lot of points others miss. I watch so many you tube videos on DIY flooring advice and see so many things missed and weak and even wrong advice given.. but you guys nailed this one. Good job.

I have a new found pet peeve of people NOT removing trim before doing floors lol. My dad always took it off before doing floors so I just assumed everyone did!

im needing to do the skincoat and patch for just one goofy spot near my stairs and the corrner wall. my basement is concrete thankfully it was only roughly 2 to 2.5 sq feet so i got away with using a ready to use skimcoat. but definitely takes some finesse to smooth out and level lol. all you need is a really straight and true board that goes over the length of the dip.
