To me, he is the second.. right behing Chester... Corey got a beautiful and versatile voice but Chester's... omg bro, that clean voice mixed with the drives... that's is clearly insane !
Something about the raw vocals itself resonates more to me than the actual track. Corey is seriously a versatile vocalist, can't get enough of him and the rest of the crew.
This shows Corey Taylors true singer stature.. this guy is simply amazing.. he doesnt need the music background to make a song sound wonderfull.. he's one of a kind.. simply great voice
Metal screams should not hurt, and should not use your vocals like screaming in an argument. They use false chords. You might laugh, and call me a retard, but it's true. If your parents tell you to do a bunch of bullshit you don't want to do, and you do this growl... that's what false chords are. People then take that and step it up to a scream, or sing with it, causing this gritty singing voice. It takes years of practice, like shredding on a guitar does.
When he starts singing at 1:29 it freezes my veins, it goes through flesh and muscles ... Wow, what a feeling hearing such an awesome voice, undescribably... I'm speechless!
Nah. The song would sound anticlimactic especially as it starts to pick up before the pre chorus starts. When he sings the, "And I cut my name into my heart, I tear it all apart I beg you" in the higher octave it sounds way better. Backing vocals just add a layer of atmosphere to the song.
Love Slipknot & Corey... But what a creepy "Buffalo Bill" Silence of the Lambs Dance he gets creepily grooving too ;-) Love you Guys RIP Paul Miss you all the time ;(
Hermoso, me encanta slipknot, es una banda que representa las emociones, agresivamente, melódica y experimental, la voz de corey tanto gutural como melódica es un 10
i aggree 100% bro, hes so badass live and just in general. This is prolly my second fav track on the new album. Mayhem Fest was prolly the best concert/event ive been to ever!
we also have to realize that Corey was in stone sour before he was in slipknot. They played a show together back when anders did the vocals, Slipknot kind of drafted corey after. Stone sour was reborn later on.. so in truth he was doing the more melodic bit before he went into the knot. it's coming back more (yes partially from vocal injury, partially from maturing and wanting to expand his expressional outlet.)
Corey voice is awsome!!!! i hate when people said he only screm and he doesnt sing I hate when people talk whitout know hes my fav singer he can sing strong and he can sing soft!!!! Corey #1
Play this and the CD version at the same time and keep switching the volumes up and down between the two... it's fucking amazing how the finalize the song ^^
I cut my name into my heart I'll tear it all apart I beg you... Burn me away... I won't become your hero just to fight the life I save Burn me away... I won't give up tomorrow just to lose it all today love the chorus!
I love corey taylor's voice!! I know everybody likes something different but this is the best voice in the world for me. I wish there was more videos of him recording without the music. The man needs to make a solo acoustic album someday!
loving his tee =p and his voice is so versatile i agree. he can do sweet singing (snuff), hardcore rock stuff (stonesour songs), growls (oh take your pic) and teh SCREAMMSSSS (again so many songs to choose from) oh and i almost forgots the awesome creepy voice for prosthetics and gehenna- those songs just rule. ultimate creep out loveeeee it =p
My sentiments exactly.. So many fans are so narrow minded and hate any kind of variety and in Slipknots case here... Progression expansion... Love the KNOT
Corey is an intelligent human being. He takes no bullshit and gives no bullshit. He's an amazing singer and song writer. People who don't get him think he's just screaming. But look beyond the screaming. That's realism bringing his lyrics to life; Pain, suffering, anger, rage sorrow, confusion, fear... It's the glue that make's life REAL. He's lived it.
Actually it is a Slipknot song, this clip is from Nine: The Making Of All Hope Is Gone DVD. It's also on the album... The one you get the DVD with as a bonus track.
