Growing up listening to SlipKnoT, knowing the original meaning of the song and the meaning it took on after Paul's passing, this version definitely hits differently
When i played Slipknot to my mom she said that it is awful. Then 5 mins later i played snuff (also Slipknot) and her reaction was " Uuu this very good song, what is this?" When i said that it is slipknot she didn't believe😂😂
@@krugertC06 It's on Corey's channel ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uetFO7y8WPA.html Also yes.. it's awesome lol *"it's not spongebob you assholes"*
Snuff has one of my all time favourite lines in it by Corey Taylor... "Angels lie to keep control". I just find this line has so much depth and thought to it, and can be applied to so many different things.
The song was hard for him because I believe this show was shortly after the bass player from slipknot passed away. So he was missing his friend for sure. The song itself is deep AF. You should check out some Falling In Reverse. Popular Monster is one of their newer songs but it’s dope. The drug in me is you is dope too
Not sure if y'all know that Corey Taylor started stone sour before he joined Slipknot. I've came across people who thought stone sour was his 2nd band. Just in case you didn't know.... now you do🤟🏼🤟🏼 speaking of stone sour you should check out whiplash pants off their most previous album just throwing it out there, you'll be thanking me afterwards lol
@@KurtisB bro that song was literally written while having a massive case of the shits and watching reality tv... I was shocked to find out my parody about colon issues was spot on.
i dont know if this has been said before, but as far as i know the song was written for the All hope is gone album (the cycle they played where you got the spit it out video from), Paul the bass player died because of heart failure from drug overdose not to long after that concert was played. Slipknot kinda designated Snuff as a tribute to Paul.
It's not just Slipknot mate. A lot of metalheads like seeing people like you appreciate our shit properly because it has been forgotten for too long! Bands like Megadeth, Metallica, Anthrax (please some Anthrax!!!). Watching non-metal fans find something they enjoy in metal warms my heart :)
As a huge Corey Taylor fan, I recently stumbled across your Spit It Out reaction video, and have fallen down the rabbithole with the rest of your Slipknot/Stone Sour/Corey Taylor reactions. You've got a new subscriber here. I like how you're so genuine, respectful and open to different genres of music when you react. Keep up the metal/ rock reactions! Check out Tech9 'Wither' feat Corey Taylor, I'm not a hip-hop fan myself, but I could listen to that all day
If I've learned anything from starting these metal reaction videos (besides the fact that I was an undercover Maggot) it's that metal-heads are amazing people.
Us metal heads are more into our feelings than most. There’s some studies that show people who listen to metal music or similar styles are more adept at handling emotional trauma than those who did not. It allows us to confront our pain and accept that pain. Non metal people always assume that murderers and people who commit heinous acts listen to metal music when in fact that’s not the case. Criminal Minds literally had an episode a long time ago where they investigated a suspects house the person had an evanescence album and other metal albums and they basically said that those who listen to that sort of music can become violent when that’s actually not the case. Metal gets a bad rap unfortunately.
During the making of the music video for "Snuff", Corey Taylor is holding a glass cup and he shatters it, cutting his hand. Not only that, but he begins to break down on set, while Shawn "Clown" Crahn goes over to him and comforts him, since he knows what Corey was going through. You should check the music video out, hopefully this time RU-vid isn't a bitch about copyright striking that video. It's a little weird, but it's also good.
I'm a new subscriber here...I fucking love your channel And I hope you continue to keep your mind open with metal music... It's a trip for sure But one well worth taking
Corey Taylor - I'll be Your Lover, Too From that same acoustic show in London This is a Van Morrison cover, but Corey implements that raw emotion you can't find from anyone else
Yay! ♡ Also, I personally love the comments and analysis in the intro/end!! Too many reactors get by with just oo's and aa's which i get annoyed by. Your reactions so far have actually had substance! Rock on \m/
This song (studio or acoustic version) gives most people chills when the hear it. The story behind this song was originally it was (mostly) about a woman that Corey was in a relationship with. She helped him through a lot of stuff and he developed strong feelings for her only to find out that she didn't feel that way for him. He has said it's a very melancholy song about "having your back against the floor and do you want to get back up, not if you can get up but do you want to?" Because of the dark material of the song he took it to Slipknot, instead of his other band Stone Sour (who have a more rock n roll vibe than more metal side, although they certainly have that too.) He knew that if he could get the guys in Slipknot to take it seriously and give it that dark and heavy sound it would be perfect. The rest of the guys in the band were a bit hesitant to give it a shot. However their base player at the time, Paul Grey absolutely loved the song and really rallies the rest of the band to give it a shot, which they did and it turned out beautiful. It was one of Paul's favorite songs form their All Hope Is Gone album. About a year after the album was released in 2009, Paul Grey died form an accidental drug overdose in 2010. It hit the band really hard and took a toll on all of them. So now when Corey pays this song at his acoustic shows he does, he dedicates this song to Paul which is why it's so emotional for him. Its Paul's song now.
pretty much the entire subliminal verses album shows corey's extensive vocal and lyrical abilities. three nil, the nameless, the blister exists are definite ones you should check out. the lyrics in those songs are intelligent, meaningful, and leave your heart racing through the whole songs. give them a listen!
Don't know if anyone has already explained it, but if they didn't: This songs is about a Corey's ex wife or gf who helped him going through a lot. He, now, dedicates this song to Slipknot's old bassist who died of overdose. He was Corey's best friend.
Just found your channel like 45 minutes ago, and I'm not disappointed. I enjoy reaction channels like your own and Alex Hefner, and watching you all react to CT makes me smile every time just because I reminisce and enjoy watching someone give our music a shot. Keep bein' you Kurtis, I've got faith you'll blow up here soon
Corey actually has a lot of acoustic songs. He has done a lot if acoustic shows. This one was in london. This song is beautiful. Check out bother from his other band stone sour. It has the same vibe and is also a beautiful song😁
When I first heard this song I never really enjoyed it because of how soft/sad it was. Then my first girlfriend and I broke up. That was when I began to feel connected to this song. Now I both highly enjoy the song and feel slightly connected to it.
Was looking on your channel after your first Slipknot reaction and I am happy to see you just uploaded this one. Wish you best of luck with growing your channel.
You gotta do Disasterpiece or People=Shit but any Slipknot song won’t disappoint. if your looking to branch out your metal pallet, definitely check out Mudvayne, Avenged Sevenfold, Five Finger Death Punch, etc. Love your content bro keep up your hustle and you’ll be at 100k in no time!
by the way the song is heavy for him because of his bassist in slipknot who died #2 paul gray , he was a good guy and he got along with everyone in the band , they honnor him alot , also watch till we die by slipknot live .
Bury all your secrets in my skin Come away with innocence and leave me with my sins The air around me still feels like a cage And love is just a camouflage for what resembles rage again So if you love me let me go And run away before I know My heart is just too dark to care I can't destroy what isn't there Deliver me into my fate If I'm alone I cannot hate I don't deserve to have you Ooh, my smile was taken long ago If I can change I hope I never know I still press your letters to my lips And cherish them in parts of me that savor every kiss I couldn't face a life without your lights But all of that was ripped apart when you refused to fight So save your breath, I will not care I think I made it very clear You couldn't hate enough to love Is that supposed to be enough? I only wish you weren't my friend Then I could hurt you in the end I never claimed to be a saint Ooh, my own was banished long ago It took the death of hope to let you go So break yourself against my stones And spit your pity in my soul You never needed any help You sold me out to save yourself And I won't listen to your shame You ran away, you're all the same Angels lie to keep control Ooh, my love was punished long ago If you still care don't ever let me know If you still care don't ever let me know
