I'm lucky, I got their self titled album with purity on it. It was back in 99 or 2000. I'm pretty sure 99. I keep that CD in a special place so it doesn't get scratched or messed up.
@Nolin Bronson Frail Limb Nursery isn't back on the album in reissues because it used samples from crimescene.com, the site Corey got the name of Purity Knight from. The spoken word on Frail Limb Nursery is taken from a purported recording of Purity telling a story to a child who had found the grate over her buried prison. The recording, of course, is fake because Purity and her story were made up. Crimescene.com presents the stories as real... but also claims to be based in Yoknapatawpha county, a fictional town from the novels of Southern Gothic writer William Faulkner (they're now clearly labeled as fiction, but back in the 90's they were more of a scare site than an educational/interactive fiction site). Since the case is a work of fiction and all documentation related to it was created as part of that fiction, Slipknot were blocked from using the sample for copyright reasons. Since Frail Limb Nursery has basically no content without that sample, it's never been remixed without it (doesn't help that by the time the case was settled and the reissues came up, they'd probably lost the original recording from which the sample could be removed).
The first time I heard the song Purity, I immediately thought of Colleen Stan, a hitch-hiking woman in northern California who was kidnapped by Cameron Hooker and kept in a box. I seen a documentary about it and I thought Slipknot MUST have been inspired by this story. If they weren't, well her experience is exactly what comes to my mind every time I hear that song.
Holy shit... I remember loving Purity off the original album, which I bought about a year before Wait & Bleed was released as a single. But I remember, my buddy buying their debut album around the time they went commercial, and it not having Purity on it, but instead, another song, with a milotic chorus that I loved. I always wondered why Purity wasn't on his copy...
It was great the got the song back because really...."Purity" is one of the better songs off the self-titled record in my opinion YOU ALL STARE BUT YOU'LL NEVER SEE, THERES SOMETHING IN YOU I DESPISE.!!
Great video. Gotta say this though. The comments on this video are basically: "Corey should do standup", "The judge sounds like Bane", "I have that shirt!" and "Purity is my favorite song" lol
Purity is one of the best songs Slipknot has. I must say for only having 4 albums, and 9 musicians in the band, I think that is impressive, and the reached number one on the billboards on the fourth album.....I wonder how the next album will be when it comes out. HURRY UP SLIPKNOT!!!
The 10th-anniversary edition of 'Slipknot' has 'Purity' on it, as well as another bonus track, demo tracks, and remixes of songs 'Sic' and 'Wait and Bleed'. It doesnt have 'Frail Limb Nursery' though.
Thank you for saying that because I just looked at it on amazon music and holy shot it even has snap thank you so much I feel like a little kid on Christmas Day thank you really
I had the original digipack of the album back in 99 and I gave it away to my friend's neice when highly intoxicated. One of the million mistakes I've made! Get Frail Limb Nursery rereleased again on the album!
No it doesn't lol. Bane has like a Germanish accent. At least in the new movie he does. In the animated series it's more hispanic sounding. This right here is him doing a deep southern accent. Bane does not sound southern in the slightest lol. Corey sounds more like he's doing a Foghorn Leghorn impression.
I just listened to Iowa before this. I’m impressed to see this hilarious man talk about getting back Purity, whilst creating the most fucked up song I’ve ever heard.
Amazing & perfect song, Cory touches & heals me with his genuine passion & indescribable pain & rage which I also live with everyday, I've been in a really dark place lately and if it had not been for bands like Slipknot I would have probably murdered all the toxic people around me or killed myself already.
they were handing out slipknot tapes for free at ozzfest 99' and i loved that song, played the shit out of the whole tape every day. Once that tape was too worn out to play, i bought the cd and was freaking out wondering what happened to the song, i thought i was just crazy i couldnt find the song. i had no idea there was this issue about purity and they removed it. figured it out years later.
I still have the copy of it with purity I didn't even know about me inside for like another three years when I had to buy a new copy and I was pissed I that was one of my favorite tunes but really its good from beginning to end but I still was mad I had to find another copy
Im just glad that I bought a copy before it was taken off. I love Me Inside and all but I'd rather have purity. Not like that matters now but back then if you didn't have it......you didn't hear it
