A handy restoration tip to help with the improvement in the appearance and condition of old model windscreens or plastic parts .
Although what I show in this video does the job , I now use the Pledge Glossy Floorshine finish available on ebay for £13.99

That's a great instruction video Bob. Modern floor finish is great for filling scratches because it self-levels. If it's anything like waxing a floor, the second coat shines better than the first.

Thanks Bob. I'll have to try that. I used to use Johnston Klear floor polish and it did the same thing but you can't get it any more. I'll have to see if I can find that stuff now.

Yes Klatuu , you’ll need to shop around cause it can be quite expensive from some sellers, as long as it’s the finish type it’ll do the job. I was quite lucky enough to find it for only 99p a litre at my local bargain shop 👍 ⭐️just a quick update, I have since bought a bottle of Pledge Future floor shine from eBay but it’s £12.99 ! Great stuff though ⭐️

Hi Martin, well funny enough I did hear somewhere that brake fluid does this without damaging the plastic but I don’t know how true it is I’ve yet to try it but I saw somewhere that pure ordinary Dettol will also do the same job 👍

Another excellent video Bob thank you. Which bargain shop sells the Astonish Floor Polish as I have tried quite a few so far and can't track it down. ?

I got it in Home Bargains but not sure if they still have it in stock as a lot of their stuff is sometimes just a one-off thing and once it's gone that's it.

Have a go with Humbrol Clear Gloss, easier and way better results.

I use Pledge revive it floor shine now as it’s completely transparent 👍

Have a go dipping the plastic in a Clear Cote Gloss, the result is simply Spot-on :)

Well done matey haven't tried that method but have seen it used on some of the American channel's, I personally just use Autoglym car wax polish, if there are any scratches I use Brasso it's similar to a mild rubbing compound, but not sure if it works on all plastic screens, best to try it on an area where it doesn't show first. P. S. just a little joke do they sell that floor shine in packets and not in plastic bottles ; )

Great tip video Bob I’m doing my first ever restoration which is a Batmobile, how do you restore the wheels I’ve tried soaking them in wd40 & a Dremel with Polishing wheel which polished the top edges but not right in the outer edges of the bat symbols any tips or another video would be much appreciate many thanks keep the great videos coming 👍🏻👌🏻

Hi Robert, what I do is scrub the wheels with a wire brush as best I can then I use Plasticote Bright Gold spraypaint and cover them with that then once dry just repaint the Bat emblems using a fine brush! 👍

No sorry John, wish it did mate! But it can help with some small ones as the shiny finish helps to take your eye off them a bit if you have to re-use a cracked screen.🙂
