I'm using Le Mans Decals' stellar array of vintage Le Mans race car decals once more for this weeks custom of a Corgi Juniors J86 Porsche 935. These decals are representative of the 1977 number 41 Martini Porsche entry driven by Rolf Stommelen and Manfred Schurti.
Porsche introduced the 935 for Group 5 competition for 1976. It romped to a comprehensive victory in the World Championship for Makes that year and took class victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. They returned in 1977, winning the Makes Championship, but this factory 935 I recreate in this video failed to finish due to engine issues. Its final year of factory racing came in 1978 with the famous 'Moby Dick' 935/78 but again that had issues and ended up eighth overall. 935s continued to be successful in the hands of privateers until the mid-80s.
