In case it helps clear up any confusion, here is a video I made that goes over the mathematical derivation of the Coriolis Effect and how it appears when you have a rotating reference frame ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uTabQKD2WMs.html. Because you’re LIES don’t exist! But you keep LYING to yourself like an ignorant child beLIEving they do🤣🤡 Don’t you even know a Spherical shape means like a BASKETBALL , TENNIS BALL, BOWLING BALL, SOFT OR HARD BALL, MARBALL, etc.etc. ANY BALL SHAPE?? It means the earth MUST have immediately DOWNWARD Curvature in ALL directions around you✅ This is a scientific FACT! BUT it doesn’t curve at ALL, because there is NO curvature TROLL… Are you smart enough to know that? So just how stupid are you? No where on this earth does the ground drop aka curve downward in ALL directions around you as it MUST to be Spherical dumb dumb.. WoW, are you an ignorant halfwit🤣 You’re just a indoctrinated regurgitating LIAR, who’s never traveled ACROSS this earth but sit in your diarrhea filled diapers down in your basement like a mindless baby😂😂 How pathetic you are.. It’s easy to tell you have absolutely No experience flying, driving, boating, hiking, ice skating, fishing, mountain climbing, playing sports, building anything, etc. etc. especially TRAVEL! You prove you’ve never been in a plane because just looking down using your very OWN EYES proves there’s no curvature seen FOOL.. And anyone who’s past 2 years of age also KNOWS it’s the airplane moving NOT the earth spinning! Time 4U2 Shut up with your nonsense & educate your dumb azz.. Stop LYING to yourself And Travel👍👍 Have some self respect.. There’s only ELEVATIONAL differences on this earth with mountains hills and valleys at different Elevations ABOVE and BELOW Sea LEVEL.. But it’s still a Stationary, Flat & LEVEL surface… Ask a Pilot how & why they use an altimeter! It reads Sea LEVELS to keep them so many feet above the ground not curvature stupid! Then a Gyroscope keeps the plane flying LEVEL.. Ask any pilot if they fly LEVEL ACROSS a LEVEL Plain! They ALL radio the tower to say when they’ve LEVELED OFF… Airplane so named by the Wright Brothers because it is a Machine that flys in the AIR over a PLANE✅ STOP regurgitating and START investigating.. It’s time you educated yourself and have some self respect too! Time 4U2 GrowUp! Visit a shipping port or train terminal dumb dumb! Visit an airport, Runways don’t move & face in all directions... Sea LEVEL, Ground LEVEL, Horizon LEVEL and Eye LEVEL have been called that since man’s beginnings for a reason! Now go change your face diaper as yours is filled with the diarrhea you spew so freely like an indoctrinated IDIOT 😂😂😂 Stop lying to yourself about what this earth really is… It’s not a spinning scientifically impossiBALL sphere!

AA 516: Thank you for the great video. The video reference in both the rotating and non-rotating frames definitely helped to reveal the conversion of trajectories between frames. Some videos or demonstrations only show one reference frame, such as the rotating and just denote a Coriolis force that acts in the reference frame and causes trajectory deflection, but that doesn't provide much intuition on the connection between trajectories in different frames as this video did.

Not really an accurate description of earths Coriolis at all. Most people think that if you threw a ball north from the equator, the earth would spin underneath it and it would land in back of what would otherwise be a straight line. This is not true at all, what happens is the the equator of the globe is spinning fastest and slows down as you go north or south, though all points rotate once in 24 hours, due to the shape of the sphere. This means that the conserved momentum would cause the ball to land in front of straight line drawn to the North Pole. Weird, but that's how it works. It has to do with conserved momentum and how far a certain spot on the earth has to go to spin once in 24 hours. This video does not show that at all.
@willoughbykrenzteinburg
@willoughbykrenzteinburg 3 года назад
Its literally the same effect shown in the video. The outside of a merry go round is traveling faster than the center. As the ball travels in a straight line, it follows a curved path over the merry go round (which represents the surface of Earth). Think of the merry go round as a cross-section of the Earth representing all latitudes at once.
@tonymarks841
@tonymarks841 2 года назад
Enjoyed your video but had a few questions? Isn't the earth and the air above it rotating in lockstep? And if so, wouldn't this make the merry go round demonstration not comparable to the spinning earth. For example, when you lifted the drone and hovered it over the merry go round, it never drifted away because of the earth's rotation, but if you lifted the drone off a railroad boxcar traveling at 30 mph, it would not land back in the same place. To equate the merry go round Coriolis to what happens on earth, wouldn't all the conditions have to be the same? The air above the merry go round is not rotating in lockstep with the rotating platform.

The frame at 7:05 nails it. All motions, for all directions in the CCW rotating frame, appear to bend to the right. The balls paths are not really curving but appear to curve. Now imagine any pendulum swinging in any plane in the Northern hemisphere. Every swing, although actually straight and true, will appear to curve to the right. There's your Foucault Pendulum!

Please help with a question: The canonical argument for earth's mantle is that the high viscosity precludes there being a significant coriolis effect on convective motions (Knopoff 1964, McKenzie 1969). But since these are pseudo-forces (ie relativistic effects) it seems unintuitive to do this scaling argument based on 'forces' (eg buoyancy vs viscosity) to conclude this. Please clarify the absolute velocity of the moving object (here a ball), its connection to the substrate(here none) and its speed relative to the rotation rate as factors determining the significance of the coriolis terms.. I wish to know what would happen if, say, instead of a ball, a highly viscous fluid (eg syrup) was allowed to flow down a slope parallel to the radius..? Would the flow be deflected and if so, what is the relevant physics? Thanks for great vid

@@rrrick2129 How can a plane correct for something that is only observed from the ground .... You said it yourself the plane is not drifting it only appears to be drifting from a non inertial reference frame! In no way can an instrument or pilot correct for something that isn't happening

@@rrrick2129 I should observe a drone drifting 15° as it hovers. But they don't drift they just hover. The heliocentric model claims anything not attached to the earth drifts 15° Coriolis the fictitious force that is only observed from the ground! Edit* The drone cannot account for something it doesn't experience. The drone is not drifting it should only appear to to drifting from my position on the ground.

I just realized that continental drift is a characteristic of coriolis effect!!🤔

What happens if you toss the ball up when you are on the outer edge of merry go round... try that... then you know the answer to the deep game question.

The ball goes up and outwards since it has forces in both directions.

So where's the GD coriolis effect when you're getting your reference shot... are you not hovering above the earth...

Cmon man, the earth has much stronger gravitational pull than the merrygoround. What is it about being a flat brainer sorry, flat earther, that makes you feel special? Were you not good at anything, and this was the only thing to make yourself stand out? Even at the price of being ridiculed? I hope you get well.

If this effect is real then why, after 4 billion years of rotation at 1000 miles an hour, don't we have cumulative wind speeds of 1000 miles an hour?

Because the air has the same velocity, which matches the earth's rotation. Due to the laws of momentum and energy, it won't just start spinning faster and faster and faster. That would mean an infinite source of energy, which is simply impossible, as energy can't be created from nothing and can't be eliminated. Only turned into another form of energy. In this case, kinetic energy. Edit: I am sorry, I misread the question. The reason we don't have extremely fast winds is due to relativity. The air may be moving with 1000 miles/hour, but so are we. If I were to shoot a basketball at you with 10 m/s a second, while you are moving at 9 m/s, the real impact would be the same as if the ball hit you with 1 m/s. I hope this answers your question.

check the soles of your shoes .. your right sole will wear out before your left because all free moving bodies in the northern hemisphere tend to veer to the right, to correct this 'veer-to-the-right' the right shoe will wear out first
