Just watched this again after being down in the Pairc yesterday for the Teddy Mac tribute games. Savage achievement by Cork and of course by the late great Teddy boy Mc Carthy. Gone, but never forgotten !!! 🙏🙏🙏
@Aidan Holland If Dublin did it we'd never hear the end of it! Only one county has done the double since 1900, and that was Cork and Cork only. Sadly we haven't had much success in both senior codes since 1990. Four senior all Irelands in the last thirty or so years, that's a very poor return for a county of our history, heritage, size and playing numbers. We made history in 1990 though. No one can ever take that away from us. A Galway or a Dublin may equal it one day, but they'll never better our 1990 double. They won't have two all Ireland winners from both panels either. Teddy McCarthys place in history is secured forever.
I agree. And I for one wouldn't begrudge Galway one bit, if they do achieve it. In the meantime, we remember the great Teddy Mac, and his amazing achievement in 1990 !!!
