@@thehoodedvagabum7375 up there with jones. Think DC eye poked stipe in all 3 of their fights so when DC got eye poked in 3rd fight I didn't have any sympathy for him
Major props to Stipe's corner telling him what he needed to hear and him actually doing it. His corner told him to mix it up and the fight did a 180 for him. DC was giving him the beats before the adjustment
From dc corner in the full fight you can hear about 500 times they say: box dirty and than the 750 eye pokes and stipe loost the first three rounds and came back in the fourth after so many direct hits to the head from dc and than they say Jon Jones would eat stipe easy... Wtf??? How? Jones say that stipe is the HW goat and that means something.
What's crazy is that DC was basically unresponsive. Most of the liver shots went unanswered and he never tried to cover up. He didn't want to clinch, either...so odd. There were like 12-13 liver shots too.
@@unixfool He's trying to be likes jones, beat the opponent at their own game. people thought that stipe was superior than DC when it comes to boxing/strinking so he tried to beat stipe there.
Stipe got him back big time in the 3rd fight though. DC's eye was closed for a few rounds in that fight, which is an example what goes around comes around.
@@TroyDakusboth are dirty cheats in the cage who don't deserve to get spoken about as good fighters. Outside the cage dc is a solid guy, Jones is evil
@@hazebaze107Because if you call someone “underrated”, you’ll get likes on youtube. Look at any video, it’s sad and pathetic lol. Calling Stipe underrated is absolutely crazy.
This is Stipe's best win imo. This was a great fight. DC brought his A game and Stipe had to dig deep to pull this one out. My favorite UFC heavy weight rivalry
he haf to fight through the diversity of eye pokes, glove grabbing, and back of the head punches over and over. Everytime I watch a DC fight I remember hes such a dirty fighter. Then he has the audacity to cry about Jon and be a commentator. 😂
@@Under-Kaozyou know meaning/spelling of “diversity” but not have*?? Sorry no offense either. Plenty of shit I don’t know either bud it just threw me off a bit 😊
Sweet vengeance. I love how the brass gassed up DC so much with his accomplishments. But always slow rolled Stipe, just for him to get his belt back haha
@@purestformofpeace absolutely. I can't hate DC most of the time, sometimes I just don't like him at some ways especially when he adopted the Jon Jones' attitude after he took the belt from Miocic and how he talked his way coming to this fight. that maybe the only time I hated DC, other than that, I love him but this loss of him is satisfying.
@@eetfuk3571 Can you tell me , is there a specific reason why you target me? ... Because it doesnt matter what I do nor what I say... I allways gets targeted.
*Stipe is the heavyweight GOAT!* He beat: 2x DC, Francis, Werdum, Overeem, JDS, Arlovski, Hunt, Gonzaga and Nelson etc. P.s. DC kept jabbing his thumb into Stipe’s eyes with every jab. He had numerous eye surgeries and I’m so happy that Stipe won this trilogy!
I like Stipe but he needs to add movement to his game to beat Jones. Leg kicks, foot and head movement and knees inside. Jon's elbows will be a problem for Stipe.
@@almyers8074 Stipe has a very short leg reach. Stipe’s best weapon would be his endurance (but he has bulked up too, he knows he needs the extra size against Francis, Blaydes etc). Stipe should be offensive with his wrestling and boxing. Jones has been boxing a lot, and I expect his elbows and kicks to be a problem for Stipe. But, Stipe must get him tired. He must pressure jones just like Reyes did. Whenever Jones tries to kick Stipe has to land shots or shoot.
@@zippo_muk9254 It will be interesting to watch this matchup, to see if Jones can compete at the weight and to see if Stipe's adjustments are effective.
@@almyers8074 It depends on how Jones wrestles. If he wrestlers to hold or for a quick ground and pound finish then he’ll have more success. Aspinall, Blaydes, Gane, Ngannou, Volkov and now Pavlovich could be difficult matchups. If Romanov can work on his cardio then that’s another difficult matchup.
This comeback reminds me of in a video game when you discover a new move so you just keep spamming it bc it’s so effective. I’m surprised dc was that easy to solve bc he was cracking stipe over and over. The speed of his hands over stipe was crazy.
This trilogy established Miocic as the greatest Heavyweight of all and yes that holds true to this day. Ngannou is still a few defenses away from claiming that honor, even by his own admittance, and we will never know Cain's true potential because of his inability to stay healthy.
I’m not sold on Caine. He’s team spoke him up but he never was healthy enough to fight enough elite level guys long. He fought an old, ring rusted, post illness Brock. Even that fight, I think a healthy active Brock beats him easy. Brock just list that first step. He lost to Dos and Bigfoot. I don’t see him beating Francis, dc, stipe, jones. I even think Tim Silva kos him.
Dude you're crazy one fedora resume blows stipes out of the water. Two Cain was the most complete heavyweight thus far. Three Stipes opponents were all out of their primes.
@@nonyobussiness3440 1 the first fight with JDS was a flash knock out, the other two fights he dominated JDS from start to finish and won every round 2 he dominated silva twice 3 he's probably the most complete heavyweight skill wise and probably the hardest to beat out of all of them and Werdums style and Velasquez health faceted into the performance 4 he's not unproven by any means
brutal eyepoke by dc at 3:30 im surprised stipe didnt go blind after that one glad he came back and got the knockout those bodyshots really payed off in the 4th who wouldve thought that punching a fatso in the stomach repeatedly would get you the win
2:30 I've never really noticed eye pokes in the UFC due to how fast they usually play out, but that's the most blatant eye poke I've ever seen in the fights I've watched. I get that he had a lot of emotions going into this fight, it's understandable, but c'mon DC.
It's absolutely insane how well DC did still in this fight after knocking Stipe out in fight 1, despite his height and reach disadvantages, and his predominantly wrestling background. But I don't at all agree with DC's recent observation when comparing Stipe to Jones that: 'Had he not made the mistakes, he would have beaten Stipe'. I don't think that at all. It was never up to DC here, he didn't make any mistakes to me. Stipe simply adjusted phenomenally, shut his body down with 11 liver strikes and then beat the shit out of him as payback for fight 1. DC missed the point which is that Stipe took control, changed tact and secured himself the win by dismantling and destroying DC in the fourth. Again, it wasn't mistakes by DC which means it wasn't in his control. I simply think Stipe was better than DC at heavyweight but the fact that it was always as close as it was, is why DC is also a legend when compared to, in my opinion, the heavyweight GOAT.
DC never earned that knockout, and should've been DQ'd this fight by the second round too. He landed 22 eye pokes (to my count) across these three fights. 2 In the first, 2 in the third, the rest all in the second. Thing is, he landed those 2 in the first fight back to back, entered the clinch, and hit Stipe's blinded side. That's why it was such a soft blow causing a KO. Everyone was surprised by that. It's the punch you don't see coming that puts you away, always. Stipe took ten shots three times as hard this fight and ate them like nothing. He ate Francis' best shots in both fights, dominating one and taking 20+ before he got put away in the second with a 46lbs weight disadvantage. His chin is superb. That KO was disgusting. Funny enough, Francis is the only man to beat Stipe legit to this day. Struve eye poked Stipe right before the KO too and hit his blind side. DC eye poked Stipe right before the KO and then hit his blind side.
@@TheStraightestWhitest It's funny you finding me on another video after I've just replied to you on another comment. Yeah while I do very much respect DC for what he did here and I can't ignore the performances he put on, the shots he gave and took and the wars he endured, the eye pokes you've mentioned are absolutely disgraceful and should have been punished accordingly. I haven't watched the 2nd or 3rd fights properly in a long time and can never find a compilation of the pokes. I believe you when you say about those eye pokes because I've seen it (especially the thumb in the eye) and that is absolutely unacceptable and should have seen a DQ, regardless of what I respect about DC's achievements and performances. That's a man's sight, let alone his ability in the moment to perform at his best. We're not talking swelling around the eye with legal punches, we're talking poking into his eye and I despise how he advances with his fingers out straight. You don't know how much I loved when Stipe straight stabbed DC in the eye with his index finger. Also I like what you're observing about about the shots Stipe took. It's the same with Bisping, GSP and Firas had planned to catch his blind side (literally) and he got him with the left hook.
@@TheStraightestWhitest 22 eye pokes 😂😂😂 all I remember is 1 in the first fight (which looked intentional) and couple of unintentional pokes from both sides . But the one that DC did was blown out of proportion so much that everything after that was eyepoke. I still remember people going bananas when stipe reacted to a punch being eyepoke. On replay it was DC's thumb that snuck to Stipe's eye when DC threw his jab which is pretty common when a short guy fights tall guys. But people were still in denial and labelled DC a cheater out of hate or something else. And the hilarious thing is after 2 fights the narrative was set "DC is a notorious eye poker and that's it." of which stipe took advantage and blatantly poked DC blinding him for 2 RDs at their third meeting which people maintained silence and some celebrated. That eyepoke from stipe was so deliberately done but the bias is there so nobody talks about it and these are the same people who talked about rule and ethics of the game 😂 when stipe got poked.
@@neerajbholan5369 LOL...did you not see Stipe's face? You act as if he's faking it, but it looks like Stipe got face-mauled by a house cat. If Stipe intentionally eye poked DC in the 2nd fight, I don't blame him at ALL - once burned, twice learned. Herb Dean's got the same eyesight as Ray Charles.
Makes me wonder if stipe would have worked the body earlier could he have have finished DC earlier to. As soon as stipe dug the body he had a lot more success such beautiful work
DC's maurauder style is bordering on kamikaze, his corner was going mental at him for not defending himself at all with his hands, it was all tilts and head movement
