This is why stipe is the greatest HW of all time, always honest and showed respect even after wins or loses. He’s a great role model to the young fighters.
@@gforvendtta stupid comment tbh. this man beat ngannou and it was hard but it wasn't THAT hard. not to mention all his other feats. pure testosterone and stands on business
Not really. All he does is wait and bitch and act like 5 years ago is somehow relevant to today. He sucks, his ego is pretty out of control if he thinks he deserves something. His activity is a joke.
@@andthe4010everyone can make mistakes n francis has the type of power where he can put yoy out regardless so i dont get why bring it up n that manner bein disrespectful like that to fighters
@Lord Sakazuki Lie to your mother not us ok!? ho lost 2 times thanks to eye pokes and that were his only Ls in UFC,Stipe with eye protection would be undefeted and he dominate everyone he fight except DC but he is a cheater with his fingers out so that doesnt count for me.
@@indiansmokar easily? You’re so very wrong but it’s okay. Nobody on this earth can easily beat Jon Jones as an MMA fan you should know that and never repeat that ludicrous claim ever again
Because he bought into the mythos and UFC marketing and media had built around him. He was unstoppable, absolute freak, never before seen ferocity and power, nobody can take his punches or stand up to him. The man had literally never struggled in the UFC before. Media focused on him WAY more than Stipe, as if Stipe were just a formality. Of COURSE you're going to assume the other person is scared of you. Interesting seeing his reaction to narratives from before the fight, and then after, when he just sees through all the storylines and hype
Stipe served Francis a big humble pie. Very gritty performance by Stipe. As for Francis, I knew he would comeback strong bc he never gave up when most people would. He took the beating like a man and fought until the very last seconds.
i mean comeback strong after a couple fights, he completely looked lost his very next fight because of this fight, vs derrick lewis. The worst fight in history of UFC.
@@HAWKEYENUTthis was the worst fight this shit is garbage stipe is all grapple when the second fight happend he wasn’t throwing those same shots when Francis picked up some defense huh??
@Nicky Bobby Not just any people. World class competition. These guys are the 5%. The other 95% of the guys on this planet would get swallowed by these guys. Stay away from guys who look like Stipe. He got those ears for a reason.
Not only that, Stipe is a firefighter and paramedic FIRST before being a ufc fighter. So of course he isn’t going to be afraid of a person, he deals with deadly situations all the time!
@@Muniiks not sure what is worse, Stipe got caught (after he hit Francis really hard, got over exposed). And in this first fight, Francis took so many shots, got manhandled like a kid, was helpless most of the fight.
96 horsepower is not the same as being hit by 1.2T vehicle made of iron and steel .... going full speed ... I like dana but sometimes his IQ is below 100 ....
@@MacDernif And I seen the fight too, all miocic did was hold him down for 5 rounds. I could understand if he beat him to a pulp but he didn't. But Ngannou flatlined him. Find a better way to cope
@@darkNovaskar bullying the baddest man on the planet for 5 rounds who thought he was untouchable and would walk through the champion is much more impressive than a knockout of an old Stipe years later. Stipe destroyed Nigganou so bad he was scared to take a punch for 3 fights after that, his PTSD was so bad lol.
Ngannou’s face at 7:22 says more than words ever could… he can’t believe what’s happening. He genuinely thought he would just steamroll Stipe and instead he’s getting ragdolled, completely outmuscled, Stipe is eating his shots and giving big shots back and Francis is exhausted. He broke mentally right there.
@@juu9do278 YOU ARE SO MAD 😂😭💀 never even mentioned anything to do with anything you said. Stipe beat ngannou in his prime and dominated him. Ngannou beat an old Stipe (40) that cut a lot of weight for his fights with DC. Keep coping.
The thing that I loved about both of their fights was the professionalism they displayed towards each other. There was some trash talk, but nothing disrespectful. They let their matches speak for them.
Victor Palacios would you rip something out of your bosses hand? When you make $100,000’s per fight? A boss that can cripple your career under the table if he chooses to? Dana clearly wasn’t happy per the fucking death stare he gave him. so yes I would say it was pretty ballsy.
@@rj_nbk No dana cant just ruin his career not after that performance. Dana would get mauled by every fighter on social media. The fans to. U know what people hate most when a humble guy gets done wrong.
@@rj_nbk Right now stipe is very promote-able first he is contending to be the best heavy weight ever. Second he is comparable to khabib both dont give a fuck and just want to get the job done. And right now khabib is the biggest attraction in ufc. And people like humble guys stipe carries himself in such a mysterious way people enjoy that. Also Gsp humble guy too. Huge attraction
@Absolutely Dreadful What's the mystery? Stipe's proven time and time again to be one of the single best fighters in UFC history. Doesn't seem very confusing to me
He will forever be intimidated by Francis now. Stipe may never fight again after that beating. It was a beating. Like a mother beating a child. That is why Stipe was, is, and forever will be intimidated by Francis. ONLY Americans ever gave Stipe the credit he got. The rest of the world was with the bookies the 1st time, and the 2nd. Francis was the clear favourite even when he was an amateur. 2nd time around he walloped Stipe so hard - the look on his face was priceless. He knew he was going to loose after the first shot.
@@zolking You.... You know he beat Francis right? And, uh, you saw the video right? Why on earth would he be intimidated? He lost, yeah, but I don't think Stipe was ever scared of Francis.
@@TheManofThings777 yeah that's right. I don't what is their problems. In first fight literally stipe would have raped him in round 4 and 5 if he wanted to do. It's 1-1 .
@@TheManofThings777 so if he wasn't intimidated why didn't you throw any punches? He landed like one punch the whole fight. You know why!! Bc he was intimidated.
My favorite part of that whole fight is when Stipe takes the belt from Dana and hands it to his coach to put around his waist. He knew the entire house was stacked against him and rubbed it in its face when he still won. What a legend.
Hell yeah man, that was indeed a very great moment. It's incredible the way they treated him. Or when Cormier won, they didn't even wait for STipe to exit the cage to make the Lesnar call out WWE style ... I wish Stipe wins again this week-end.
@KENTUCKY BLUE WATER I agree but I think when your job is matchmaker and has been for decades you get stuck in the mentality of "Okay, whos my next big thing? Who's going to be my big draw in this division??" because to him, success is numbers sadly. But i definetly agree with you, he should at least try to hide the bias when his hype trains derail.
@KENTUCKY BLUE WATER Dana pays Stipe shit too. Dana just takes advantage of people who have a good quiet nature and pays them the bare minimum. Squeaky wheel gets the grease but I wish they would give him a pay day the guy risks everything in the cage for those people and us.
@@ensjo1279 yeah it does seem little. Mcgregor makes more then that and he doesnt even fucking fight. Thats what ALOT of fighters have a problem with now. Figjters should get a million dollar bonus for a title shot if they win
I feel like the Dana is the main reason allot of lame stuff happens in the UFC. Roy Nelson deserved more chances. Ut he kicked him out because he didnt like him. Stupid.
The high fives at the beginning of each round are the perfect microcosm to this fight. Just watch as Ngannou's hands progressively fall. Dude is running on FUMES!
@@BoiYahTfah Don’t mention that to Stipe fans. I’m not sure if it’s ethnocentrism or straight racism, but they always seem to deny the fact that Francis was years behind Stipe, in terms of fighting experience, in both fights.
@@joalvarado8506 lmao, racism? fuckin delusional. Stipe represents the working class, doesn't have a huge ego and is likeable. its hard not to root for him
@@caligulathecaesar Rooting for someone is one thing, but blindly following them is another. He barely won the first fight against an inexperienced Ngannou. Most Stipe fans gloss this over and crown him despite his abysmal performance the second time around. You may not be rooting for him for the same reasons as everyone else. No need to get all riled up.
Think about it: Ngannou, one of the scariest mofos on the planet, was scared shitless of Stipe, to the point he was seeing his ghost when he fought Derrick Lewis. Absolutely mental.
First time he was ever wrestled. Your statement is completely true. When they fight again? oh yeah Ngannou is taking that. have you seem him wrestle as of late?
@@TheStraightestWhitest No doubt Stipe is strong but where he got outpaced was on the technical aspect. Ngannou wasn't able to properly defend a take down, he was just using pure force to fight back which is unefficient against a experienced and skilled fighter like Stipe.
@@rays8521 True that. Still, I know from experience that technique only gets you so far. 20lbs is a massive difference. During my years in competition Judo, I would get handled in open weight tournaments if the difference was that large, so it was really impressive to see Stipe dominating like that.
@Wild Bill I also wish that stipe wins but stipe has been into octagon for much longer time as compared to Francis so I guess he wouldn't not be as much conditioned as ngannou
@@manfjsjjskdjhtjaozjdnn3947 thats what i tought, it's like 5 more jabs from an already exausted fighter. it doesn't seem much but still fucks with the cardio
Stipes demeanor before and during the fight shows a guy with quiet confidence who knows exactly what he’s doing. Just another day at the office is how he handles his business.
Bro became the GOAT of the heavyweight division and the first thing he had to say was “I’m gonna be a dad!” A true inspiration for all men across the world
I think this is the top MMA fight ever. It just represent that in order to win you need to use every skill that you know, and that's why Stipe won. I was 18 when I watch this fight and since then I'm a hardcore Stipe fan
I mean Francis wasn't wrong. Those shots Stipe took in the first and second rounds did some serious damage. Francis didn't have the tank for the deeper rounds though and was gassed almost immediately.
Humble my ass; he literally fights like he's blindfolded and has no stamina as well. Glad to see that trash outclassed in every manner but measurements.
@Ibrahim Hassan Hamroush alhumdulilah my friend. I wouldn't diss dc like that though. Dc is a great man who lost his child and is super humble and honest as well

@@MacDaddyTito when I'm online being a keyboard warrior on these MMA posts someone's I have to remind myself that I'd get treated this way by a UFC caliber fighter half my size then all the sudden I get humble again 😆😎💯
Stipe trained on Rockfield Rd in Independence, Ohio. I worked half a mile from his facilities (and the Cavs practice facilities are right there as well). He is a typical, humble NE Ohioan through and through. You can see it in his demeanor.
It’s Dana’s fault for hyping up Francis so much like he’s invincible. Then he got cocky and went out there and got absolutely humiliated. Then his next fight he threw a total of like 15 punches in 3 rounds. Tbh I blame Dana. I like Francis but he needed that ass whooping
Absolutely LOVE how humble Stipe was through our the pressers and pre-fight. Then, when he let his hands talk for him and got the job done he took the belt from Dana and had his Coach put the belt around his waist. Respect is NOT given, it is earned. Gotta love Stipe.
Mark C Yeah that phrase has a different meaning tho. “Respect is not given, it is earned.” Is something I’ve heard my entire life. My parents instilled it in me. Which is why when ppl act like a-holes IRL, I literally won’t give them the time of day if they asked for it.
Not gonna lie, I am rooting for Stipe but if he fights Francis again he's getting knocked out cold. This new version of Ngannou is faster, smarter, and Stipe is both inactive and will be at least 38 years old by the time they fight again.
@@MrReav13 new version of ngannou will still get gassed out . lewis took him distane francis lost stipe took him distance francis lost. stipe has to get him on the ground like in first fight and outcome is gonna be the same.
Imagine how Francis must've felt every time Stipe offered his hand at the start of each round. Each time more tired, must've been so terrifying knowing your demon beat your ass with a smile and no animosity. All business.
Was gonna say he came out every round with a hand out. Class act and a true badass. Definitely looked like there were times in that fight when he could've finished it, but he wanted to drag Francis through all 5 just to dispell all that hype Dana had built up.
Stipe beating him changed him completely. Even now that he knocked Stipe out he still respects him a lot. There was one interview where someone asked Francis who he thinks is the best heavyweight (besides him) Jon Jones or Cyril Gane and Francis was like “what about Stipe?? He beat me.”
