We are getting corn in the ground on our small dairy farm. Alan gets the corn seed and fertilizer into the John Deere 7000 four-row corn planter and is off with the Case 830 to pull it. Alan finishes the small field quickly. Alan talks about some of the old seeding equipment that was used on the dairy farm. Lastly, Jessica enters her very first dairy goat show.

Trinity Dairy was established in 2006, in Minnesota. Alan and Jennifer farm with their 5 children; Jessica, Justin, Jordan, Joshua, and Jason. We milk a mix of 33 Jersey, Holstein, Brown Swiss, Guernsey, and Ayrshire cattle. We also enjoy sharing our family's love of Draft Horses and using them for logging and other farm work. Dairy Farming in Minnesota can be challenging, but it's a lifestyle we really enjoy. Subscribe today to watch our small family dairy farm and family grow while continuing to thank our Lord for the blessings we've been given.

Always like the variety in your videos. You folks are a positive influence on the children. Supporting their endeavors and instilling work ethic/responsibility. Glad to see the corn planting progress. Looking over the old machinery gives you an appreciation of what we're using now. We don't have new iron either, but it gets the job done for us (same as you).

The Guy that's on the camera is doing great! I remember my Dad planting on side hills, sometimes the upper side didn't cover the corn , so us kids had to go behind with a hoe and cover the corn!NO, not goats! Good job Jess! We had 9 at one time, glad to see them gone!

Hello everyone great vidéo and great equipement today I sowed 12 hectares of corn in Alsace in France with a farmer friend who only has old equipment imported from the US I sowed with a white 4-225 and international 12 seeder and I love the sound of the caterpillar coming from 4-225 if I'm not mistaken the previous owner of this tractor was in the center of Iowa and had re-engined it if I remember

A small mechanical planter, that plants. Most of the big farmers are working on there new air / electronic 16 row planters, not doing much planting. You will be harvesting before they get planted.

Alan, thanks for the great planting video. We never had a Case I think I asked you before about the horsepower of the tractor I think it's 60 something? The cameraman did an awesome job! So did Jessica, congratulations to her! Enjoying the old equipment history. I used to ride the drill on those two planks on our drill. Sorry I haven't been able to make many comments, working too hard on that Cockshutt 570. Talk about history, it's a 1959, it's a 65 HPs diesel. Been working on it since July 2023, we will gettr going. Watch all your videos! Thanks, Skip, Western PA

Allen in the late 50 s dad drilled holes in steel with a drill like the one your son found. We pulled a 6 row planter with a 39 horse tractor. Put it in next lower gear to turn around. The John Deere F B B fluted feed drill you can see the seed fall down tube!

I loved the rear unloading wagons for silage, the roar of the blower the sound of the dogs working pulling the false front back with each click the tractor set at the right rpm so as not to over run the blower, I could stand beside the tractor and listen to it work for hours. Usualy a wd45 or a super M depending what farm I was at.Those days you did not want to over load the blower or you had a problem to unplug the pipe they needed an air gag to blow the silage up to the top.

When is the frost date in Sturgeon Lake? Also, do you plan on picking corn this year? Did they still use steel wheels with no tires in 1950's? It looks a lot older than that.
@trinitydairy
@trinitydairy 4 месяца назад
We can get a killing frost as early as August, or it can go into October, it's hard to say, but I am hoping to pick corn this fall. I don't think they used steel wheels in the 50s, I'm sure that drill is older than that.
