The CORNELL hitch is one of my personal favorites. Not just because it functions reliably, but also because I believe it looks quite awesome. The way the legs of the hitch become intertwined make it similar in appearance to a Michoacan, but much more attractive. I tied this using a 9mm, 32" Sterling RIT hitch cord on an 11.8mm Drenaline rope.

I fully agree that it is realy good looking. It locks well, even with relative loose wraps. In my setup the turn below the 4 wraps "constricts" itself more or less. Pushing upwards at the backside of the lowest turn unlocks the lowest turn easier. Once the lower turns has unlocked, it moves very easy. I used 8 mm prusik cord on 12 mm static main rope. Maybe the constriction doesn't happen with thicker prusik cord (I don't have at the moment, so I can't test it).

Does it work good with the HitchClimber pulley

Yes, actually. It works quite nicely with a hitchclimber pulley. Just make sure that pick an appropriately length-ed hitch cord so that you don't have too much sit-back.

When you say "the VT," do you mean the hitch or the hitch cord type by Blue Water rope? The hitchclimber pulley doesn't like the VT (the hitch) from my personal experience. It causes the braids to get stretched apart onto either side of the pulley which messes up the hitch sometimes. It's annoying. The Cornell wouldn't have that issue, assuming that's your issue. In general, the Cornell is very responsive and it's my favorite hitch (out of hitches other people have invented). My favorite hitch of all time is the Calligraphy hitch, which I invented. I have a video for it here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EBq46oaiWNs.html

Gotcha. Please feel free to leave another comment about what your experiences were like with the Cornell hitch once you've tried it! =-D
