Do you have lots of 5" squares? I do! This pattern can be used for using a variety of fabric squares, all colours, for a scrappy but delicious look! Here I show you how to make the block.

good idea. I had a pile of 5' squares cut ,also rolls of 2 1/2', and 3 1/2 '' . was going to get rid of them . they were put away never planning to use again. I was surfing the web site for quilt patterns . now I almost have a quilt top done. thank you for this project. on the corners and squares.like the saying goes :don't throw away anything it will sure to come in later. thanks and keep up the good work online. you explain very well,

I have 2 sewing machines that I use most of the time, plus a couple of others that don't get used so often!

Thank you, it is a beautiful technique! It is wonderful to pass things down! I hope I can learn this, and pass it down to my daughter, as well! My grandmother, in Europe/Greece would use these old fashioned wooden machine, and she would weave wool blankets for her family! I never learned to do this, and I am not sure what these old fashioned wooden machines were called! But, I would love to be able to teach my daughter quilting some day! Hopefully, I can master it enough on my own! Thanks again!

I always see advice on pressing quilt pieces as opposed to ironing to prevent stretching the fabric, but you always iron and have no problem. Is there a trick you use to achieve your perfect pieces?
