A stunningly beautiful walk, minutes from Fowey. Starting in Readymoney Cove, where Daphne Du Maurier lived for a while, walking across fields with views to Gribben Head daymarker, arriving in Polridmouth Cove, the inspiration behind Du Maurier's 'Rebecca'. We return along the coastal path to Fowey.

Squirrel, Squirrel...... Dube, cut back on the Mexican food, good golly....... I will never look at postman the same way again. This might explain way my fence is leaning. I licked the screen but could not taste the ice cream, darn. Another really nice hike and great information. Thanks for sharing it with us.

You two are so cute and funny. I love it. If I lived in Cornwall y'all could live on one side of me and Andrew Ridgeley on the other. And we would be close to the beach and have a beautiful view. 😀

Hi Sarah and Andrew, another lovely walk, the scenery was stunning and the little beaches beautiful. We thought the castle was fascinating too. Looks like you did it before the hordes arrived! Think Andrew needs fewer prunes or less fibre - more pasties!! That was so funny!

Yes, beginning of July! Have you seen the news item - Porthcurno road is a huge traffic jam and Kynance is too popular! The local tourism boss has been slated for saying that Cornwall is shut! Sarah :)
@dianat7764
@dianat7764 6 лет назад
Sadly tourism is a double-edged sword. It it seems more than a little busy down your way at the moment and it must be very difficult for you locals to get around.
@CornishWalkingTrails
@CornishWalkingTrails 6 лет назад
Very apt, yes double-edged sword! Unfortunately we missed the boat with earning from the wonderful Cornwall phenomena, neither of us work in that industry! The traffic is easily avoided because the tourists tend to aim for the most marketed places and Cornwall is a large County with loads of areas where you don't see any visitors! All of our filming for the summer weeks is done so no need to fight our way through, even with local knowledge! Sarah :)

Hi Sarah and Andrew, we incorporated part of this walk into a longer walk starting and ending in Fowey via Par Sands and Gribbin Head. Thanks for inspiring us to do it.

Well I would give this 12 out of 10 as I think that this walk gives you everything. Spectacular scenery over land and sea, a castle I had never heard of and my favourite ice cream what more could you possibly want. Well done again Andrew and Sarah for a smashing film location and clever filming.

Must have done this in reverse nearly sixty years ago. After we left St.Agnes for Minehead in 1962, several years went to stay at my uncle's in Fowey. We were dropped at Pridmouth and after swimming, walked back.

Thanks for watching - Fowey is beautiful and quite an important harbour in years gone by, hence the castle! I agree about the castle, there was a lot more history than we showed and a matching one on the other side of the estuary! Sarah :)

That's lovely to hear! BTY I have found a piece of sea glass!I saw some artwork in St Ives, using sea glass as the body of, say, a bird with lines to depict the rest of it. I am not describing it well but I am inspired to have a go myself!! I need a few more pieces of glass first - will keep you posted! Sarah :)

Well that route was very well marked and nothing better than waking away from the crowds and finding peace and quiet on a beautiful walk. I always seem to get carried away and miss a turn at least once on a walk but thank goodness I have never been caught out like Andrew but he will have felt a lot better after losing that load! Is it me or are the jokes getting slightly better? Lol. Nice castle to finish with and an ice-cream is always a bonus. It's a strong 9 from us, cheers Alan

Lovely walk Sarah and Andrew, the cove was especially picturesque,really enjoyed the view ! Seemed very relaxing and low key which is always a plus, and Andrew never disappoints with his sense of humor 😂 And ice cream is always a real treat ,although lately I’ve been treating ice cream like it is a major food group,lol( I will blame it on the heat lol) I hope you have a relaxing weekend or maybe something fun!! As always,lots of happiness your way,Lori🌻

It was in that Fort, that we cut short our holiday due to a tooth abscess that my better half had. I think Dawn French has a large house close to the fort too. Great film as ever.

@CornishWalkingTrails 6 лет назад
Oh dear! Well, I guess you can't help nature's untimely intervention sometimes! I hope the tooth was treated with a speedy recovery. The house is amazing and someone with w pretty penny would have to own it, kept to a beautiful standard! Also, secretly, quite glad she didn't knock it down and rebuild in the modern style! :) Sarah

Hi where Andrew was counting the dogs on the beach, if you go down onto the beach, and follow the rocks around the the right, for like 10-15 mins. There is an old ship wreck down there that you can walk around on.
@CornishWalkingTrails
@CornishWalkingTrails 3 года назад
Now that sounds very interesting! Thank you! Do you happen to know what the ship was called or when it went down? Sarah :)
@timfagan816
@timfagan816 3 года назад
@@CornishWalkingTrails The wreck was called the Romanie and she was a steel three masted sailing vessel with an auxillary engine. There was no point in trying to salvage her, so she was left to go to pieces in 1930.
