Finally get back to the track for the first time in 7 months. These are the first runs since adding the 15 inch rear wheels with AED knuckles and custom Wilwood rear brakes. Still dialing it all in, but got a lot of really good data.
THAT'S BADASS BUDDY, I'M AROUND 6.32 IN THE 1/8TH @ 115.96 ON A 1500 DA, SO YOU ARE ROCKING IT. I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO GO TO A 15" WHEEL AS I'M ON 17'S RIGHT NOW. I COULD USE SOME ADVICE ON THAT 15" SETUP!
There’s two main approaches to running a 15. The easiest is Baer Brakes make a rear brake kit that allows you to run a special Weld 15x9.33 wheel. The second is you have to purchase AED’s billet rear knuckles ($2400) if you can find them. That allows you to run up to a 15x12” Bogart or Belak wheel. In my case, I wanted to run a 15x11.25 RC Comp wheel, so that includes a custom Wilwood brake setup and some additional machining on the rotors and rotor hats to make it work. You also have to grind on the lower A-Arm for clearancing. I have videos on the knuckles and the processes to run my 15 on my channel. Good luck! 👍🏻
Looking good! Baby steps...Get the seat time in now and get comfortable with the car that way you're ready to take full advantage of the cool air once it arrives.
Very nice build man. How was it working with Beechmont Ford? I'm thinking of getting a Roush supercharged 300a GT from Lebanon Ford which I believe isn't too far away from Beechmont. I live up in Detroit and was just wondering how they were?
They were awesome! I called Lebanon as well and felt much more comfortable with Beechmont. Great group of people, took care of me and got everything I wanted.
Did the McLeod clutches last with the 3.25” pulley? I’m trying to pulley down from the 3.875” but not sure how hard I should push it. Also is it on pump ethanol or C85/ Ethanol One R?
They’ll last for awhile. Once you get up to that much power you have expect to replace them yearly if not more depending on how aggressive you get. The additional clutch packs will help with that to some extend though. I only run pump E85
@@CORNYOTE Once a year is not too bad. And good to know you can run that much boost with pump E85. Best I’ve seen here in Miami is E80-83 but that’s close enough I guess. To get that 8sec pass you’re gonna need to max out the 6 rib with a 2.75” griptec.
Beautiful car. What’s your setup? I have an 18 twin turbo car but the instant torque and hp on the blowers are sick!!! Edit- just saw it was a whipple. Nice!!!!
