Anne has attended more than 11,000 engagements in the last 20 yrs, more than any other living working royal, and is regularly named the year's busiest working royal, with 214 engagements in 2022 and 387 in 2021. That's not a free ride and although born into royalty and privilege, she doesn't live like a lazy entitled Princess.

You think that she invited herself to 214, plaque unveilings, building opening ceremonies, cutting of cakes, hospital visits, military ceremonies? I don't know about you but If I were rich in privileged, I could think of much freer ways to spend my time. Yes there are some Royals that are more self centered, but not Princes Anne, not the late Queen and not the late Prince Philip. They generally believe in service. Prince Phillip for one would have been happier in his military service then becoming a professional plaque unveiler. This is probably why Anne decided not to give Peter & Zara titles because they can choose their own paths.

They need to justify their existence in a modern world where royalty has no place in a progressive society. They can say that they are "worth it" by doing all of these nonsensical meetings and "chores" ...but in actuality they are just useless humans living off the work of peasants

Edward and Sophie have let their children decide when they're older to choose. The children grew up in the family and would have some understanding of being a working royal and all it entails. The Civil List and Grants-in-aid have been abolished. However, the Civil List was replaced with what is now known as the 'Sovereign Grant'. I agree with you that the 'Sovereign Grant' should be abolished or at least revised to be as minimal as possible. It is really an expenditure for the public duties that they conduct and for want of a better word, 'wages' for the public work (really government work) that they conduct. That would in essence remain if the UK was a republic, although a president would not have his/her extended family all benefitting from the office of president. Adding to your list, they should be made to pay inheritance tax on all privately owned properties (e.g. Balmoral, Sandringham etc). Places like Buckingham Palace would not be included as they are state owned. It is people like Beatrice and Eugenie that I find most unnecessary and fail to see how they are relevant, especially when their father is no longer a 'working royal'.
