Thank you so much for all these months of being able to watch classic Corrie events. I grew up in New Zealand with mum and dad watching this wonderful programme. I wouldn't call it it a soap like many would agree as Bill Roach thinks as well. So great to see the beginnings if relationship's like those of Sally and Rita and of course Alma and Mike. I would say I have never seen the episodes of the past 88 and 89 at all. So it is fantastic to see the build up of what have have seen later on. For example I had seen Alan Bradley with the deeds of the house and the next thing I saw of this storyline was him and Rita in Blackpool.. and now Sally is calling Mrs Roberts Audrey. Lmao 🤣 just so greatfull with what I am seeing. And thank you so much again. I did see in July that alma was in the bar spoke to Mike had a red Blazer on and then flicked to the rovers backroom, when filming came back to the bar on the same episode Alma was wearing a red Blazer. So sorry to go on. But it's just a blast and a privilege to see what I am watching Take care All. It is said with thoughts and well wishes to everyone who may see my comment all around the world 🌎.
Like you I grew up in New-Zealand. My Mum used to watch Coronation street back in the day, now something I enjoy. More than anything it's great seeing the person develop over the year's. I enjoy these episodes so much, a huge thankyou 💖
The one good thing that comes from the irritating twosome Audrey and Alma, is that Alma gives Audrey a taste of her own medicine. Audrey has been getting away with her terrible behaviour for years, so it's good to see Alma keeping her on her toes. I could cheerfully throttle them both though
Kevin and Sally were very boring characters back then. Their sickly sweet marriage was intolerable! Luckily Natalie Horrocks saved the day and ruined their marriage! 🙈😂
I liked Mike but he was very shady when he sold the factory as a "going concern" knowing full well it was going to be closed and demolished for housing. He cheated his workers of their redunancies, to keep all his profit from the sale for himself. It was fair dues when Dawn's brother conned him shortly afterwards.
I only just recognised O'Brien from Downton Abbey! She was also Brilliant in "Happy Valley" with Sarah Lancashire. (Raquel!) Sarah Lancashire is a National Treasure.
Percy's right about a lot of things. The man fought and beat the Bosch. Scumbags like Kevin Webster and boaster boys like Des Barnes would be speaking German if it wasn't for him, yet all they could do was make fun of him
That flaming Vera. If I was Baldwin, she would've been down the road, long since. She's the biggest skiver with the biggest gob, and she's not even a good machinist.
I find it really sad to see how badly Audrey treats poor Alf. I know what he sees in her, and she does lighten him up with her sense of fun, but she takes outrageous liberties. She is so shallow, dizzy, and worst of all, disrespectful to the person who gave her a decent life. Once a tomcat, always a tomcat.
I were 21 n 5 in 1973 growing up in 70sxwere sooo freeing my kids were born in 1989 n93 buyvthen playing out alone were not very safe as teens no we had a better time in 70s x
Oh no it weren't. In the 70s your electricity was switched off between certain hours, bins were Pilling up in the streets & the dead were left unburied. The 80s were fantastic. Thatcher crushed the Marxists of the 70s who were running the country into the ground. We had a backbone & no absolute loonytoon woke nonsense. You could also have an opinion without being "cancelled" for it. 👍🏻
what became of mike's green setae he had in the early eighties. it looks like the set decorators had other ideas to rearrange the Mikes's set. Johhny briggs rip. was fine actor who knew how to act properly not like today's stars who are only doing voice accents. and yelling at one another
Have you seen the EastEnders 10th (I think) happy birthday tributes from the other soaps? Mike’s like the Queen Victoria, Albert Square? Yeah, I know it!
@@zanducktv2398 I'm talking about his soap character, Mike Baldwin. It was always stated he was from South London, Elephant & Castle, Bermondsey way. Not East London.
Gail and Ivy have been getting along well lately. I have a feeling all that will change soon now Martin is in the picture. And is anyone else bloody sick of hearing Tracy playing Kylie Minogue tapes?
Tracey voice can make u wanna tear out your hair crap young actress wouldn't get s job today uts like does reading the script Ken looks like a right peodo n permission were in n yup I had one once had to hid till it dropped coz my friends went omg deidre Barlow if she'd just grow it an inch n hsve highlights n blowdry it out it looks like a vagina
Death is brutal... The chinless wonder moves on to martin, her son finds a new step father.... Poor Brian...i suppose he deserved it for being such a shit actor.
Great little street. All worried about money but if you want to find anyone you can either walk into or phone the pub and it's likely they are there. The Gilroys are in the right business.
Do we ever to see Brian's murderers trial or hear the verdict, same question but Abt Alan Bradley's trial? Also, why wd Deidre tell Ken anything that's supposed to b private... He's obviously going to print it. That wd b a terrible way to have to live... having to edit yourself because your husband will put whatever u tell him in the paper...
I read somewhere that Christopher Quinten bad-mouthed his fellow cast members something rotten. He fancied himself a Hollywood star, and thought he was above life on the cobbles. Maybe killing Ar' Brian off and barely ever mentioning him again was a way of teaching Boaster Boy a lesson
@jonathancheetham7683 yeah they basically replaced the factory with the supermarket (which I suppose was a sign of the times as Britain’s manufacturing era was pretty much over)… but it wasn’t as much fun, I loved all the laughs at Baldwin’s Casuals personally much more than anything at Bettabuys.
You know i think Kevin and Sally had a big part to play in the demise of Corrie - Their shouty over acting seemed to become a bench mark for what was to come and they are still shouting to this day - Without me watching i hasten to add
I’m a bit confused here with the layout of coronation street, what is that big building opposite? I thought it was where Dez and Gail lived with the Kabin on the corner?
The large building was Mike Baldwin's clothing factory which he sold later in 1989 it was then demolished and after that the houses were built plus the new Kabin.
Audrey's so sexist - 'why is it all young fellers think they've got to be comics?' They didn't - and Brian and Terry weren't - and neither was Kev. Or Jerry Booth, come to that. Or Steve Fisher. Mind you, Brian was a plank. Still, I couldn't help loving Aud. I still do. I never watch it now, but I've seen clips with Sue Nicholls from recent years and she's as wonderful as ever. Lights up any scene.
If you pay close attention, you will notice that Vera does slightly less bitching and moaning when she's employed. As opposed to when she's unemployed. I recon that means she prefers being employed.
Alf Roberts had a bit of a pony life when you think about it. Slaving his guts out in a shop for 94 hours a week, meanwhile his virago of a wife spends all his money on gin and tonics and tarty dresses
