I saw this as not just a Deirdre storyline but a beautiful tribute to Anne.

Real tears from Bill Roache when he saw Deidre's glasses. He wasn't just crying for Deidre, he was crying for Anne. Rest in peace Anne.

Ironic for Ken, Deirdre dies miles away from him and Mike Baldwin dies in his arms.

I was shocked when I heard of Anne Kirkbride's passing. Of course I knew she had been unwell before, but I thought she had recovered. She was a lovely woman, and one of Corrie's finest actors, and I've missed seeing her on TV. A tragic loss of a decent human being. Rest In Peace sweetheart.

This brings back a VERY tough memory for me. A close colleague at work died of a heart attack. My manager told me as part of the management team but I was not to tell any of the working staff during the day, he waited until the close of shift to tell them all. I had to get through that day with a smile on my face for the customers while trying not to burst into tears. It still hurts thinking about it.

That bit where Emily was crying in the pub really got me 😢

It's hard enough when a character dies in the story but is still alive in real life, but when a character dies in real life it's heartbreaking. I know it's a few years on, but I bet that was so hard to film for all the cast and directors etc of Corrie. I'm deeply sorry for their loss. RIP Anne Kirkbride.

Ken breaking down at the sight of Deirdre's glasses is reminiscent of when Hilda did the same over the sight of Stan's. Both scenes were excellently acted and poignant.

I cant be the only one sobbing all the way through and then completely loose it when emily started crying and Michelle doing that little shock movment thing

Tastefully done,which Anne Kirkbride deserved. I'm 61 and loved Corrie for years,it was essential viewing in my opinion. Unfortunately it's a pale imitation of the once great programme it was. Coronation Street used to be unmissable, now it's unwatchable!.

When we went digital I lost the station that Coronation Street came on. Haven't seen it in years. So sorry to hear about her passing but I'll always remember Deidre's voice and those glasses that she wore.

When I saw Ken break down, I started to melt down too. Damn he has gorgeous hair.I only started watching Corrie St bout 3 yrs ago, and Deidre was simply iconic and one of a kind. there will never be another quite like Kirkbride. RIP.

In true life this is the hardest thing to have to do, joy at a birth or wedding but so much sadness at a death of a valued friend and having to tell people. It still stuns me we lost a loved daughter of 34 years and now 2 years gone it was one of the hardest days of our lives

The cast and crew turned up here for work in February they attended to carry on with the sake of their friend Anne kirkbride but unfortunately many broke down in tears it all became too much so as the result the filming on coronation street was cancelled as a mark of respect

The pressure on Susie and Bev to deliver the news as their respective characters must have been tremendous but they delivered moving sensitive performances.

Her and Helen worth started around the same time in the 70s and have hardly changed my first memory of coronation Street was with these two when I was small.

When Kate Ford is crying it sounds like she's saying 'Anne' I know she's not but for a minute it did.

For me it was Kate Ford aka Tracey's crying at 3:45 that made the scene-she seemed in genuine pain and agony there. Outstanding performance.

Having been told my mother was dead in a very similar way, this feels quite real... How Tracy can't understand the word "dead" and then breaks down. It was like that when my sister broke the news to me.
