I dunno, what they did with Martin was really crap, and the storyline they WANTED to do was so bad that it took until 2018 for him to want to appear again

I agree. I would have said Ken and Mike. But that feud, was up and down really. They had moments when they did get on. But Tommy and Martin downright hated each other.
I knew a person like Tommy Harris and his problem was alcohol addiction . And it affected his way of life for many years . He stopped drinking and now .He is a very responsible member of society. Thank for the upload.
I know. Especially when he'd make sly digs at Martin, by comparing him to Gary Glitter etc. Or in December 2004, when Martin was playing football with some teenagers. Tommy came and said 'hey Platt, why don't you play with kids your own age, oh wait a minute you are. And then he said' Do you know who Platt reminds me of, George Best, not then but now' I supposed they had to kill him off, Coz his behaviour and his temper was getting more badder and badder, and he was starting to make enemies. I liked Tommy Harris . But I think he bought his death on himself really. Katy was 16, she was at the age of consent, and Martin was only about 35. He was so desperate to split Martin and Katy up, not caring who he hurt along the way, he let his vendetta against Martin cloud his judgement, he neglected his son, and even knocked him out cold, and was more happy to let Katy believe Martin was having an affair with Sally, and was also happy to drop Martin in it with Kevin. Then forcing his daughter to have an abortion, and gloating about it and not showing any remorse, it was still his grandchild no matter who the father was, it was his flesh and blood and then carrying on gloating about it. So I'm not surprised he ended up dead, you can't do all that and not expect some sort of punishment.
I agree he did over react a bit but can you blame him? His 16 year old daughter is dating a 35 year old man. Doesn’t matter if it is legal, it’s weird as fuck.
These old episodes are so much better than today's. They are very well rounded. I find there are two many characters today so they only get limited time. OH and don't put Steve and Cassie together. I don't like Cassie. But it's a wonder those children aren't barking mad with all the screaming going on around the.
I agree with all the comments about the characterisation in. Older episodes. So much better than today’s nonsense. No good dialogue nowadays. Ridiculous plot lines. Only a couple of characters who are liked and those are the ones who have been around for a while. They have ruined sally and Steve. And now Gail is going because the actress probably can’t stomach what they have done to her character. It’s criminal that the older characters have been dumbed down so much. Actors who made corrie great in the past reduced to gurning comedy characters

Martin really is a good man but he watched that family go to the bog, all he had to do was break up with Katy no matter how awful and deep he felt he caused all of that.
Yes, perhaps he is the reason it all happened. But it's not his fault for how everyone choose to react to them Tommy has to be responsible for his own actions, he's an adult.

3 factors - Sally's Affair and Tommy's Obsession and Angelas sitting on the fense which contributed to all this . Had Sally not had that affair , if Tommy wasnt so controlling and had Angela stuck to her guns about Martin and Sally then all this wouldnt of happened
