He wasn‘t always like that.. I remember even some of Roberts good Days when He was there for Michelle.. When She wanted to comit suicide after that still birth sl.. :(
Honestly hate the fact he died. He cheated and lied yeah. But he didn’t deserve to die! He didn’t have change to meet his baby😩 the one thing he has always wanted! Poor Robert x
Agreed. He should have gotten a chance to see his son. The way clutched the stuffed animal he bought his son broke my heart and I can't seem to stop crying, because it's obvious Michelle still loved him.
R.I.P Robert Preston, you Have Been a Big Part of Coronation Street ever Since you Came in too the Show just under 5 year's ago Now, and you Will Be Well Missed Mate, and good luck for the future With Whatever your Doing Next, and I am So glad that I get the Chance too Meet you at Coronation Street, and Have My Photo taken With you as Well! Before you got Killed off! in last Night's Christmas episode! :) and I Will Never forget you Mate! and all the Best for 2020.
I think what makes it worse was the way he was treated by Michelle towards the end of his life, and now Michelle gets to walk away with what she did to him while he tragically loses his life!
David Fearis If michelle takes the role of grieving widow I'll be sick...she made his last days hell and her scheming would ultimately deny him ever meeting his son...I know he did wrong but her response went way overboard
This is sort of similar to the Peter and Tina affair storyline, only it’s different with a few different Characters and Robert’s probably not quite as bad as Peter.
Yeah Robert’s nowhere near as bad as what Peter was, Robert got with Vicky when Michelle finished it with him and then Robert realised he loved Michelle and Vicky again. Peter used Tina for fun while he was still with Carla so what Peter did was far worse. Peter probably deserved what Rob did to him but not Robert. I understand why Michelle and Vicky did what they did though obviously because they were angry and people do things without thinking sometimes.
What a tragic end with the false hope of seeing Vicky/their son but he needed a big comeuppance after he destroyed many people's lives so I didn't feel too bad for him. Michelle, Vicky, Tyler did wrong too with their setup but Michelle faking the phone call at least gave him some hope in his last moments.
it was cruel to end robert the way they did. he wasn't a bad person, not intentionally anyway. he got vicky pregnant when michelle had dumped him and he called the whole thing off when michelle wanted him back until he found out about the pregnancy and he only kept vicky sweet for the baby. he only ever wanted michelle, but vicky was always there twisting everything and getting him into difficult situations like about the ring and stuff and threatening to leave for ireland so he had to get her to stay somehow. all he ever wanted was a baby but didn't want to lose michelle. he was stuck between a rock and a hard place and didn't know which way to turn. and now it's only been a week since he's died and everyone seems to have moved on and forgotten about him. he was a likeable character and a huge part of the street and deserved such a better send off than this. michelle aint even stuck around for his funeral.
Robert's death was such a letdown, no funeral, and no one has mentioned his name since he died. It's like he was never there. If I was the actor I'd be annoyed... all that hard work and no legacy. At least bring back Vicky
I can't be the only one who thinks Robert's death doesn't make sense? Kind of renders the whole Vicky/Michelle love triangle, baby & fake murder storyline pretty pointless 🤷
I see where you're coming from, but Robert and Vicky weren't going to live happily ever after either since he was a cheat who she didn't want to know. The only other option would have been for him to leave which wouldn't have made sense knowing he has a son out there. From that point of view killing him off made sense for me because it forced him out of the storyline. Of course now that leaves Michelle and Vicky who will just go their separate ways.
@@F_Arrow95 well, I suppose it would’ve made more sense if Robert had have killed Ronan instead of Ali. Mind you, Michelle wouldn’t have turned him in if he did no matter what, neither would I if I knew someone had done anything with good reason in the past. Maybe that would’ve been his way of not getting away with what he did to Ronan and his life sort of went out of control somehow.
Would have been a better ending (knowing him and Michelle both leaving) if they got back together and went to Ireland to see his son. Actually looked like they mite get back together in this scene before he died.
Thank Gary for this!!!! he provoked derek into shooting robert, when they were fighting Derek shot shona and gary couldn't save him when Derek met his fate... and all maria can flipping care about is making sure that gary is safe
He didn’t even mean to do it for fun, he lied and cheated because he loved Vicky and Michelle so he was trying to protect them both and I mean, he did want to tell Michelle the truth but he never knew what to do. Charlie Stubbs on the other hand would’ve deserved something like this like how he got it coming to him.
Stealthy Ronin rick deserved to die, and so did derek. However everyone that died apart from rick, gary never meant for them to die. Hes just been unlucky but after this episode we will see a change.
All Robert wanted was a child. He never wanted to kill or harm anyone, however he would do anything he physically could to have one. I hate hate hate hate vicky and Michelle..
Will definitely miss Robert at the Bistro. Ultra sad that he had to die which means no return ever. Can't stand Michelle - wish she clears off for good.
I don’t think anyone who watched this was satisfied with that ending, Robert shouldn’t have died after all that drama they build up a good character with lots more story line to learn about probably not going to be as entertaining with the Vicky thing not having Robert
Great. Now instead of being arrested, Michelle will spend months feeling guilty for setting up Robert for murder and not allowing him to see his baby boy. And now Vicky can raise her baby as a single mom.
Karma Gary was responsible in some capacity of the death of Rana and at the bistro they put a not saying something like family bereavement notice and Michelle walk in to see Robert clearly didn't read the sign now his blood is on Gary as well.
But Peter told everyone Robert was critical, which implies he was still alive then. I've seen three hospital deaths I remember in EastEnders, and when the patient flatlined, they were dead right then!
I will never forget how Robert was there for Michelle and helped her through the Stillbirth Crap and her suicid attempt 2 years ago.. Yeah He cheated and lied but Come on.. As if Michelle is a saint lmao..
I think after the shock of what happened he might try and become a better man, but then again you never know but either way he’ll get what’s coming to him like they say “the truth always comes out in the end”
I didn’t mind him dying to be honest, but the fact that they brought the baby in at the last minute was just heartbreaking... Also, I feel like Gary is going to end up feeling guilty about Robert...
Glad Dereks dead his character just made me feel depressed however I’m fuming that Robert died sure he was bad for cheating and lying but no way in hell did he deserve death
Come on Corrie. Robert was a liar & a cheater, and maybe sadly died on Christmas Day but come on. Playing songs that say “have yourself a merry Christmas” right after someone dies is so fucking disrespectful. It should be sad funeral songs you play after finding out someone is dead not fucking “Merry” Christmas songs. Because merry means happy and death is a sad thing. R.I.P. Robert Like if you agree ⬇️
What a pair of out of this world woman Michelle looked up the other ones duff the other one let out a few pants and puffs and a perfect baby appeared no blood sweat and tears no gunge on mum or baby no cord cut I know ambulance arrived afterwards
