Sarah has every reason to be hurt and angry. Todd pushed her into having a baby, she left her family, hurt her mother and let Todd into Bethanny’s life... And if Todd had cheated with another woman nobody would excuse it.. Finding out you are gay is not a reason wilfully break someone’s heart, especially a teenager who is carrying your baby.
@@stemple11100 It isn’t about homophobia it is about a pregnant 17 year old who has been cheated on and had her heart broken. The language is her hitting out but now Todd is Godfather to Harry.
I don’t think they’re mean to Todd in the sense they’re homophobic. They’re upset and mad at him for what he did to Sarah. He pushed her to getting married, having a baby, and then he slept with another guy in THEIR bed. He cheated on his pregnant (fiancée?) with a man! As the mother or father of the pregnant girl or even the girl, wouldn’t you be upset too?
Love Corrie but the homophobia is so painful to watch. He was terrible for cheating on his pregnant girlfriend, yes. But doesn’t make it ok to be homophobic!
I remember watching this a year before I came out. It frightened me with all the homophobia. It was definitely leaning towards sympathising with Sarah.
Sean arrived some time after Todd came out. He befriended Eileen and the family and he needed somewhere to stay, so they had Sean live at their house as a lodger. By that point Jason accepted his brother for who he was, and his outlook had changed x
I Feel sorry for Sarah,The Fact that she was used to find out how Todd feels wrong that's why Gail was so Angry,Because he made a Fool of Sarah & leading on,I have Family Members who are Gay,So I'm not a Homofobic,But the way Todd handled it was out of order especially with a 17 year old single Mum who just wanted a Dad for her Daughter & ended up being a Single Mum of 2 😭
@@kayleighteasdale2919 the things they said are still incredibly offensive to people who are unsure of their sexuality. What Todd did was wrong but the reason why he did it and Sarah's selfish and hurtful reaction didnt help. She's still a kid and was pressuring Todd into marrying her and to then say she was going to abort his baby made me hate her even more. I at least expected Jaspn to give him some kind of support dispite being angry with him for cheating on Sarah but he's just as homophobic as the rest if them. I'm at least glad that David pretty much stayed out of this because he and Martin are the only Platts I like.
Don't forget this was the early 2000s which was still more homophobic than now, pretty sure it was the same in EastEnders or Brookside (not including lesbians because society has always been a bit more tolerant of that)
