Deirdre in general was one of the most genuine characters in the soap. Not for her explosive storylines but just something about the way she acted. Same with her mum, Deirdre/Blanche was the best mother/daughter pair in Corrie.
She shouldn't have sold her child to them then should she? Or have lied to Roy about sleeping with him when in fact she drugged him and made him think they'd slept together..
They are not perverts and became very popular with the others in the street and every person in the street over the years has had their own outrageous storylines due to fabulous writing.
