I bought apex2 few weeks ago & I return it for a few reason 1. My old Apex42 Gps work as good as Apex 2 on my test 2. Even Apex 2 has 1.2" screen the number is smaller than my 1.1" screen on Apex 42 3. Current pace still lag & also distance on Apex2 abit off at the end of the run ( you can check on many review on Apex 2pro , Apex2 ) that's only happen to Apex 2 model , not apex 2 pro So I think is good choice to buy Apex 2 Pro if that not too big on your wrist but not Apex 2.For small wrist runner I think Garmin 255s or even 945 lte , Pace 2 still a good option
Good to hear that you picked this watch for the NYCM. I've been testing a lot of duel-band gps watches and the "duel-band" part feels really over rated on a lot of devices. Hope all is well buddy and that you're ready for your upcoming marathon! 🙌🏻
I have the pro 2, pace 2 and pod 2 😂 love them all. Did a test today on the pro 2 vs pace 2 with pod 2, 100 meters off in distance and the lagging pace you bring up are really big without the pod 2 between them. So if you don’t need mapping i recommend the pace 2 with the pod 2, half the price of the pro 2. + pace 2 have ant+ which pro 2 don’t have. I’m beta testing effort pace on the pace 2 right now and that Will be amazing for us runners. Easier to understand then power.
Are you planning on making a video of 2022 summary (favourite shoes - racing, training, recovery, do-it-alls, maybe some underrated ones; watches and other gear)? Would be great to have that cherry on top. Cheers!
Maybe. I crown kings as I go, so it feels redundant. I’ve already named my: Shoe of the Year Daily Trainer of the Year Max Cushion of the Year Racing shoe of the Year Most Underrated Shoe of the Year
Great review, my Coros is coming in a few days. Looking very forward to it now. I was underwhelmed when it was first announced but the prospect of this watch has grown on me. Your review has helped that.
I tested first Apex a while ago and overall previously had a hard time figuring out why the Apex existed in the lineup, but having worn these watches for a while, I’m finding that I really prefer them over the Pace 2
Agree on the sleep tracking metrics being subpar. I really enjoy my Coros pace 2 as a road running watch, but prefer another device for recovery/sleep. I use an Oura Ring for that.
The $400 USD price tag is a bit steep although they look very premium. BTW, I'd love to see a review on your treadmill of choice. I'm in the market for one.
Do you notice any difference in the pace change? I’ve noticed something like this can make pacing at the start of a split during a workout difficult as the pace is inaccurate
Nice review 👍 nice to see coros, trying to improve and compete with other brands. I do love the straps, I bought one to add to my Garmin 955, Garmin could take a note there. Coros is improving their interface and support to clients is great. Although a use Garmin, my preferred app would be Polor flow, i my opinion is easier to get the information as a runner then any of the others. But that is only my a opinion ☺️
I'm on the same boat I have a 955 But have had a garmin watch since 2017 and wanted to venture out since Garmins ui on their app is so dated . Also just because. I got a Coros with their nylon band and it was very comfortable. I just couldn't keep it because I was so adjusted to the 5 buttons . And I use the watch through out the day for small things . Those two extra button on hot keys made a small but big difference.
Oh also one more thing . Their watch face data fields are not adjustable like they are on garmin out of the box . In the future I'm sure it will change since they listen to their customers Til then I'll stay garmin
Hi Kofuzi, What do you use as your daily driver to track your runs? Set up your workouts etc? Or is it just go out and go around? I’ve been on the Garmin platform for a while, but these brands are looking very interesting.cheers.
I do really like the size and weight of the Apex 2, but I had to return it after the review. I have been gravitating towards the Garmin 255 Music lately, but I kind of switch around a bit
can you make a video The Best 10 tennis Shoes for hard court budget Durable Comfortable Well-cushioned and The Best 10 Running Shoes for Concrete budget Durable Comfortable Well-cushioned
I have the pod2 and I'm still on the fence about keeping it. I do like the instant pace update but do I really need to know this? I don't really train on a treadmill.
There was a point on the NYC marathon course where we were coming downhill slightly and someone asked what pace we were doing. I had no idea as the numbers I was looking at seemed to still reflect the uphill pace. The pod would have helped out in that situation.
I love the Apex 2, and I normally don't have any issue with the lagginess. but for a race, I would reach for the 255 before the Apex 2 so I could have better data during the run.
I’ve outgrown my Garmin 45 and am now looking for a watch that can handle both marathons and trail races. Would you recommend these two over the Forerunner 955?
Dont see a reason to buy a Coros because Garmin has more features some that noones else has (including Coros). I also just prefere the Garmin ecosystem above all the others. But the number one reason why I would never buy a Coros product is because they are chinese and I know that Garmin is also not perfect interms of keeping your data safe but I rather trust a US company than a chinese. Aside from that good video as always!
Just finished another workout where my coros watch glitched out and lost the entire workout.I hate my coros watch and think people that make positive reviews about this garbage are misleading people for their own gain.I actually consulted youtube reviewers like you to decide what watch to get.Big mistake RU-vid review artists are biased and bribed by companies to make seemingly genuine and honest reviews. They are the "used car salesman" of our time.
The sudden influx of influencers and athletes using/reviewing/marketing Coros is quite telling. Unfortunately, tactics like this are short-lived. While I do believe that Coros is doing a decent job at trying to compete, and that competition is always healthy for the consumer, the reality is that Coros is far more inferior to practically every other major competitor at this stage. The hardware design is truly bad (aesthetically and usability-wise); the lab-grown sapphire used is sub-par for whatever reason; the watch's operating system UI and UX is still in its infancy with many years of polish to come before it actually becomes comparable to the decade long improvement iteration of Garmin's offerings; Garmin (and others') algorithms across performance and health are superior as a far-gone conclusion. The list goes on. In regard to Garmin in particular, there is too much experience, talent, ecosystem, and traction to overcome by any current competitor, with the obvious exception being Apple and its similar engineering talent and ecosystem foothold. I have seen how this plays out. Strongly suspect users will be left "holding the bag" with their devices from a company that eventually has to pivot drastically or get acquired/eventually relegated. I think it's important to note the hardware aesthetic aspect considering this class of watch is supposed to be the all-day premium choice for fitness-first people vs those who want to spend time doing more than just fitness/health tracking on their watch e.g. Apple Watch Ultra. Also bizarre they could somehow mess up the hardware design so badly and think that the obnoxious "Coros" branding would appeal to anyone, considering the design of their web interface is solid. I do have respect for Coros's web team. Garmin is slacking there. Both would be wise to get social right and attack Strava.
@@kofuzi I didn’t intend for it to come off as a cheap shot. Was merely plainly stating “influencer” as a relevant descriptor, rather than use it in a negative way. But anyway, I did make my argument(s) and I’m prepared to defend them if you’d like to provide an actual rebuttal?
I agree that the Coros branding is over the top in the industrial design. This may be a cultural difference. Equally I am find myself quite irked by Garmin covering a substantial chunk of their not-effective-enough solar ring with their logo on my fenix 7X.
@@George_Banks I've been a pace 2 user for a year now, and honestly I couldn't be happier. I can corroborate everything I saw from influencers before making my purchase, so I don't think I'm holding any bag here 🤷♂️
😅😅😅....Having Garmin Fénix 7 x Saphire Solar, Suunto 9 Baro Alps edition and a simple Coros Apex 46, the latter costing half of the others , or less than half , has twice the quality of Suunto and for me, due to the build quality, battery and GPS accuracy, twice the quality of Garmin, especially the Forerunner range which is just plastic... I think the 965 already has a titanium bezel 🤡😅😅.Coros all the way
