=Countif(A4:J4,"A") A4:J4 is Range "A" is for Absent In case your issue doesn't get resolved after this formula, you can share your Excel file and I will do the required changes and will mail back.

Muhammad, this sheet is just for one month. For 12 months, you will have to create 12 sheets. Just by changing the months from the dropdown, data is not going to change or vanish. In case you don't want to create multiple sheets, please watch my new video of Attendance Sheet. In the new format, there is only one entry sheet for 12 months.

Hi Gaurav, to be very frank, I never tried in Google Spreadsheet. To my knowledge, few features in Excel and Google spreadsheets are different. So exact format in spreadsheet may not be possible

This Attendance sheet is just for one month. If the months will be changed from the dropdown, the data will still keep sitting and it will not be blank. You have got 2 options. Either create 12 sheets for 12 months or use macros. After using Macros, the data will be blank once the month will complete. The data of past month will be saved and a new sheet will be created automatically. Hi Sunish, first of all thanks a lot for loving the video and getting connected with the Channel. This was the 2nd video of Attendance Sheet which I had posted on my channel. After that I had created nearly 10 more Attendance Sheets and with time all the formats got more advanced. I will suggest you to check my most recent Attendance Sheet. Recently I posted an Attendance Sheet on Google Sheets too and I bet that one is more advanced than this. Coming to your issue now: This format is just for one month and just by changing the month from the dropdown will have no impact on the data filled. The data will still keep on sitting over there. You will have to create 12 sheets for 12 months and 1 sheet for Annual in advance. Hope you are not facing any more challenges with the format
Now I got what you meant to say. I thought you are dragging the dates and the data is not getting filled up. This Attendance Sheet is for just one month. So the data will keep sitting in case the month will be changed. Now you have got 2 options. Either create 12 Sheets for 12 months or use Macros to get the Current sheet blank. You have 2 options: 1) Create 12 sheets for 12 months 2) Use Macros. What you need basically ? When you change the month, data should be saved and new file should be created automatically ? Suppose you entered Data of Feb and you refreshed the Sheet and Feb data got saved automatically and a new blank file got created ?

If you want to pick-up the names automatically, you will have to create a Setting Sheet, where you can put all the details of employees and can connect the Setting Sheet with Attendance Sheet through VLOOKUP
For 12 months there will be 12 sheets. This format is just for 1 month. Create 12 copies of blank sheet and change the months from top. Just by changing the months, data is not going to erase as I haven't used any Macros in this format.
I have got a format in which there will be only 2 sheets. One will be for the entry and the other will be summary to check the details as per date range. Entry of the whole year will be done in a single sheet. You will get the video on my channel. I posted that video nearly 2 months back

Data will not be deleted automatically once the month will be changed. We will have to do it manually. It would be better to create 12 sheets in advance, keeping the master sheet blank for future use. All the entries will be done in a single sheet and in next sheet you can check Attendance as per months. In last or final sheet there will be total entries from where you can Check Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly or Yearly Attendance
