Jagmeet Singh does nothing to protect minority rights in Quebec. He says nothing out of fear of angering the ethnonationalists that will never vote for him. He’s lost many votes and has turned his party into a party that stands for nothing and no one. He allows Quebec governments, elected with a minority of votes (less than 40%), to pass laws that discriminate and infringe our “inalienable” human rights and freedoms that are supposedly “guaranteed” to us in the Canadian constitution. In Jagmeet and Trudeau’s Canada, human rights are optional. We have no national laws, no national pride, and no social cohesion. We have no national identity and this has created space for other provinces like Alberta to attack our national unity. Jagmeet Singh is okay with provincial governments using notwithstanding clauses against their minorities as long as he doesn’t have to stand up for them and anger the larger voting blocks (who don’t vote for him anyway). Shame on Jagmeet Singh. Shame on hypocrisy. Because of this I will review the Conservative platform and if it protects my minority community in Quebec, I will vote for them.
