Dear, the end date doesn't matter in corporate policies, it end/dissolves automatically at your last day at company.

New born baby is automatically covered in insurance from day 1, just make sure to send baby details to HR with in 30 days of the birth date..

Thank you so much...you last 30 sec. made my day. I have a question ...I met an accident 6 month ago...and an external fixation has been done in my fractured leg...and I have joined a company 1 month ago .....company has submitted all paper work for my health insurance to the insurance company .In between, the doctor has been advised me for a resurgery ...Now, when I receive any cashless card ...or any paper from the insurance company, will it be covered ? as you have mentioned there is no waiting period for the existing disease also.

Dear Umesh, yes that is the only beauty of corporate Insurance that there is no waiting period, it doesn't matter when you get your cards or paper work done, you are covered from the date of your joining. Either you can avail the treatment and claim later or best is write to your HR that there is an upcoming surgery so please provide an E-Medical card for you. or the insurance provider details. No dear, it's only valid till your last working day in the company.. post that it automatically becomes invalid

In case of Post hospitalisation reimbursement the 180days are falling in two annual year of the policy,say hospitalisation in August 23 and policy would be renewed in October 23 then it will be covering 75days and 105days in renewed policy.. will insured get reimbursement for post October month

Dear Sikha, an employer only pass on the information of the new employees to be added or to be removed(ex-emp) to the Insurance provider, thats all. Insurer provider actually does the work of altering the premium calculations basis this addition deletion.

Hi Thanks this video was really very informative .Can you please just let me know one small thing- let's say m enrolling for my parents under a scheme from my employer so for parents all the premiums has to be borne by me rite ? And also in some companies they have stated about 20% co-payment for let's say this parent scheme only what does that mean? Looking forward for your response .thanks in advance

Hi Anandita, the premium for parents vary for each company in some, the whole thing is provided by employer, in others, the employer provide only employee and spouse coverage, in those cases premium is to be borne by employee.. eg: If there is a insurance coverage of 5L and employer allows you to declare your dependent(you+spouse+2kids+parents) that means the premium is taken care by the employer, if employer doesnt allow to include your parents in this by-default insurance coverage that means you have to pay extra premium for your parents to include them, this all is usually very clearly defined in the Medical policy, just make sure that you read it thoroughly. The 20% co-pay means, whatever the bill comes, company will pay 80% of that and employee will pay 20% of that each time, until the entire limit of the insurance is exhausted. This is a common practice everywhere for parents. eg: say for parents there is a coverage of 2L rs. and the premium is borne by employer. and if your parent got hospitalised n the bill came 1L rs, then company will pay 80K and you have to pay 20K. The balance available of the coverage will be 1lac 20K for future, this cycle will repat until you exhaust complete limit.. If you have taken a policy separately(means you pay the premium), then there is no copay, as the amount is anyway paid by you during premium payments. Dear Navin, its very specific to the insurance provider, some do and some do not, to have the surety, I would advise you to read the Insurance provider handbook/policy document, its readily accessible to all employees, of you do not have it ask from HR, the document very clearly states what is covered and what not.. But important thing to remember is that, even if the hiv illness is covered, it will be only under the overall limit provided by the company. for eg: if your company provides sum insured of 5L, so only upto that limit can be claimed in one year for the hospitalizations occurred due to the disease. And the biggest advantage of any corporate policy is that, there are no pre-health checks, all pre-existing illness are covered(if the illness is mentioned in the covered list)

Just wanted to know if I want to add my parents as beneficiary since they are not covered by default, when can I add them as beneficiary (when the renewal happens)? You can add your one set of parents at the time of renewal of policy.. in general GMC there is no waiting period..

Dear most companies have policy of a waiting period of at-least 9 months, that means maternity benefit is only applicable when the employee apply it after 9 months of being in company. so technically it looks you might not get it. But its always depend what your company policies is, read it carefully, you shall get the answer.

I want to know my employer provided Base Coverage 2L and Floater Coverage 12L and they also told that dependent family members (Parents) are also covered with that but at the time of adding parents to beneficiary list it shows 10k premium per parents I just want to know that without adding parents in beneficiary list can I avail the benefits of floater coverage.

Dear, you will have to read the policy of your company, its very easily available with HR.. now to answer your question, Floater is meant to include more people from family to the coverage.. If you are not adding your parents, then whats the point of floater.. and I don't think company will allow that.. To further clarify.. all the floater/top-up plans are provided with some premium to be paid against them.. you can't avail any such plans without additional cost... thats why I told, whats the point if you are not including parents, to avail floater you will have to pay certain premium..

I want to add my my wife in running corporate insurance policy but the corporate said your time period is over now you cant add your spouse name now. They provide only 5 days for addition and deletion but I was not married at that time . Is that the time period when I have to add my spouse name in policy or i can add any time ?

Hi Mam, my corporate policy shows Active in the policy app and confirmed in email. But I have resigned from the company. Till the policy expiry date, can I avail the claim.

Yes Mudit, after resignation till last working day, the employee is still covered. But after your last working day you can't avail.

Supposed an employee is suffer from any chronic disease like cancer or any organ failure which led them to be under medication for their life time. so in this kind of case did the company or organization reimburse the money that they spend in their medication? please let me know thank you

I am covered under a Group health insurance policy by my employer upto 500K but the Maternity benefits is limited upto 50K only, how can I request the employer to increase the maternity benefit?

This limit can't be increased.. as you know it's a group medical policy individual Sum insured or coverages not be permitted. Employers can enhance limits or S I whole group premium can be effected*

Thanks very informative, I do have questions. Every year I go with Parental and Family Corporate insurance, it's Valid from 1st April to 31st Mar, but we are getting Ecard or Enrollment emails during May or Mid od April.. What if in between that time my parents gets hospitalized? By that time Do I need to contact my SPOC for immediately assistance or I won't get Cashless treatment for my parents or family...

Hi @Sagar Khote I am replying here as a Broker as Ma'am explained, usually, the issuance of the E-Cards take time, your HR will be able to direct you to the new/same broker/SPOC and they will assist and support you with the process, the claim will be considered as cashless, given the HR has bought the corporate policy on time.

Dear Nil, those are not covered by most companies, as dental treatments (apart from accidental cause) are not categorised as a hospitalization.
