So annoyed they are giving taxpayer money to VW, Chrysler/Alfa Romeo, Honda, North Volt, I don’t want my tax dollars going to this, I drive a 1992 and 1999 vehicle and won’t be replacing them for the next 40 years of my driving time

I can't speak for everyone else but I certainly cannot afford a new vehicle, not even close. We are barely affording basic necessities.

EVs are a bad joke & a costly nightmare for the average Canadian family.

An EV mandate is a lockdown mandate by another name. If the vehicles have remote killswitches, then it is not really your property. Even if they don't, their lack of long-distance capability & the lack of electricity production to power a country's worth of EVs essentially imprisons us.

I had a small business that employed up to ten people at one time and myself. I was working for free. Then i started getting audits. After four audits i said you know what I quit. Fired everyone sold all the equipment. I never got a dime from the government they just took and took and harassed.

Sadly the Libs have NEVER demonstrated fiscal responsibility. Oddly if Ontario had offered Tesla some free land and tax benefits, they would have built a plant by themselves. Sigh.

I have taken a really deep dive into EV and the EV market. The EV market really is on life support. It’s crashing faster and harder than Trudeau’s political career. I save it all too. Big big layoffs in this sector too. Even Tesla is laying off 3,000 people. It’s way more a dip in demand, the overwhelming amount of ppl don’t want these things. Now class action lawsuits are starting to pop up over the false claims made about these vehicles. They are just wasting billions more of our tax dollars.

I noticed that Castro Jr. doesn't get driven around in an electric vehicle. His bodyguards and him all use enormous gas guzzling SUVs. At least five of these vehicles in a row must accompany our crimeminister anytime he is traveling around Canada after his aircraft lands.

People don't know that some insurance companies won't cover your house if you own and charge an ev in the garage. So you better check that before your ev burns down your house and your insurance is voided.

It's expensive having a Trust fund kid as Prime Minister you must expect to pay premium for everything. Now we as taxpayers even though we may eventually have to face homelessness are paying full wages for people to work for the rest of their working life.

Just to meet business-as-usual trends, 115% more copper must be mined in the next 30 years than has been mined historically until now. To electrify the global vehicle fleet requires bringing into production 55% more new mines than would otherwise be needed.

I am a just retired electrical engineer. These battery plants are really really bad ideas. For starters the EV market is already going soft. Unsold inventories are increasing for ALL manufacturers. Ford has had to halt production. Tesla stock has plummeted and Toyota says EVs are no in their future. From Honda or Stellantis point of view they are not gambling anything, their bet is being covered by the govt of Canada and Ontario. Canada is a terrible place for EVs. We have a large country and cold weather both are which are cons when considering an EV. The guest is correct, If even half of Canada switched to EVs our grid could not support it. To those that say well we can build the gridthe stark reality is that new generation and transmission projects take decades to plan, get regulatory approval and build. Take BCs site C - first proposed in 1983 and it will generate its first power in 2025 or 2026. The governments treat EVs as if they are zero carbon footprint which is far from the truth. Once you consider the energy intensive material processing battery building, manufacturing, car electric heat in winter and power generation required for EVs the carbon footprint is still in the range of 75% that of internal combustion engine cars

What are they doing to prevent them from catching on fire? Where are all these electric stations going to be placed? They forget that gas/oil produced parts such as tires are used. Have they come up with solutions to not use products made from gas/oil?

Can you do a show about the RCMP passenger vehicle fleet. Almost 11,000 passenger vehicles and only 4 electric vehicles that I can find?

An example of how few of these EVs are wanted, Hertz Rental Company is selling off 20,000 of these EV’s! Now the rental giant HERTZ is rapidly heading for the exits after a series of painful losses. Hertz intends to get rid of 30,000 EVs, or 10,000 more than initially planned, as part of its EV downsizing, citing substantial vehicle depreciation that increased $588 million in the first quarter of 2024 compared to a year prior.

I'm not against ev technology but I won't buy one because of the battery replacement cost and I don't like the high emf close to my body.

I have a feeling that Canada invested in the next Betamax and Blockbuster video stores.

The only way these battery plants pay off is if all the metals and minerals that go into the batteries are mined and processed in Canada. The environmental damage and carbon emissions that go with this are something we don’t want besides it will take 20 years to license a mine.

They should be focused on paying the debt off .screw these auto makers .if they make junk they should go under .

What is crazy is 90% of the EV’s made in Canada will go to U.S….so we are subsidizing the vehicles with Canadian tax payer $$$ for Americans. Next electricity providers will want government money to build the grid and power stations to support EV’s…Unlike oil companies in the past that paid for gas stations themselves.

Just bought a new gas vehicle and that was costly enough. Prices have jumped to insane levels in the last 3 years!! (Never mind an EV)

Some insurers in the U.S. are refusing to repair EV's that have been involved even in low speed "cosmetic" collisions. Writing them off as a full loss. As even the jarring of the lithium batteries dramatically increases the risk of "down the road" devastating lithium battery fires. This is insurer response will quickly become the norm in Canada as well. You can bet Governments will just as quickly move to protect the EV industry by requiring the spread of the financial misery of the giant insurance hikes to owners of Gas/Diesel vehicles.

Someone bought Honda shares and pumping it. Just like tesla.
