Thank you once again for going to Corralejo. I know you have said you have filmed it so many times but it's never enough 🥰. I can't believe this beautiful place hasnt any people ! What is happening to the world I think there is more going on then meets the eye !. Keep filming for us JP until is can get to this turquoise gem .💙 Stay safe and well . P.s miss Oscar and Jenson 😊.
So sad to see Corelejo so empty of tourists, but a big thank you for sharing video.Busy or quiet still love the place.Lets just hope things get better soon. All that beautiful hot weather and today ours has gone really cold.Still hoping for our Vit D fix next spring.....but somehow lm not so sure. Thanks again JP....Keep your videos coming!always good to see a blue sky.Stay safe. Best regards Susiecusie.
Thanks for the update, JP. Still hoping to get Corralejo in November. By the way, a couple of years ago, in that restaurant "under the hotel" you mentioned (I forget its name), on the seafront, I had the best fillet steak I'd ever eaten in my life.
Thank you so much for the video. No matter how many times you film that location it makes me glow inside with love. Absolutely devastating to see such a quiet place i do worry for the island and I just hope 🙏 the locals get through this. Take care and thanks again; what a pick me up after the most crazy week in the UK 🇬🇧 government, lockdown threats and teaching 500 plus kids a week under covid conditions...... a stress free 15mins. Kirsty
Seems like plenty of traffic on that main road. A Belgian beer place for me to visit, nice! Water looks nice. You mean, let's head into ghosttown, lol. Hope you enjoyed your coffee!
It is the main road to the ferry port to Lanzarote so it is always quite a busy road. Yes, get yourself over here and we will definitely go to the Belgium Beer House (where they sell many German beers too).
@@JPinFuerteventura i hope i can, we just got some bad news at work and it doesn't look good for me at the moment... worst case it'll be an addition to my "how to prepare for losing a job" post on my website
I have just booked my first trip there in June 2020, never been before , beautiful place from what i can see, i do hope its picked up a bit for everyone’s sake, really feel for the businesses
Really appreciate your video; our visit was cancelled earlier in the year, and we are holding our breath for our next one in December 🤞🏼. Your video has reminded me of just how much I NEED to come back! ❤️
Really interesting. But heartbreaking to see this lovely town so empty. I’m heading there on Monday and plan to inject as many euros into the local economy as I can in these circumstances. Currently in Morro Jable where things are reasonably busy - but it seems to be Spanish tourists who are keeping Jandía alive right now. Best wishes from a regular visitor to the island 🤝
I can't agree that the pandemic is over. Here in the West Midlands more cases reported & increased deaths. JP, I hope your area stays low and you & yours stay safe. I won't be travelling anywhere by plane for a good while yet. Best wishes Les
You are both entitled to your opinions but you should look at the figures - coronavirus.data.gov.uk/ In early April (the highest peak of cases during the pandemic) they were doing 14k tests a day with 975 deaths a day. Now they are testing 220k a day but there are just 35 deaths a day. The figures speak for themselves.
I disagree with you Les. Deaths are almost neglible to a 68 million population, and our hospitals are empty. Do some research, and stop listening to the BBC.
I was really sad to watch this video John. Such a beautiful place and as you said ... now a ghost town. How can these businesses survive? I see Tam's 'Cordon Blue' is still closed, and 'Tiffanies' as well ... had the best ever breakfast there the last time I was in Fuerte just before we left for the airport. Things are really kicking off again in the UK just now ... students back at Uni here in Scotland and cases on the rise, English Uni's going back in the next week or 2 so probably more of the same. In Scotland we can't go into someone else's house now (with a few exceptions) and pubs now close at 10pm. How I (and everyone else!) just want to get our lives back ... and as soon as we do, I'll be straight back over there, and if you're up for it, my wife and I would like to have a meal with you and Sue ... on us!
@@JPinFuerteventura ... just stumbled across this from the Rolling Stones ... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LNNPNweSbp8.html ... Very apt ... enjoy!
Hi enjoyed your video again normally go to calleta commented last year when it was raining 😬hopefully be back next year to the island have bought you a coffee keep up the good videos 👍👍🏴🇬🇧
I can't say I do Alan. It is ok for a holiday and nice to have just 15 minutes away. Besides, moving here costs too much. For us to move from our house and buy another house for the same value would cost around 45,000€ in taxes, estate agent fees etc.
We are there right now (British couple) (3rd year running.) Agreed it is very quiet, can count on one hand how many brits we have seen. 2 week quarantine when we return but will be ok as we work from home. With all that said, still one of the best holidays we've had.
This is a great disaster! How long will the residents keep it through this situation? We had our trip from July 4th until July 18th. Also at that time it was very small visited by tourists. The residents of Corralejo, the stuff in restaurants and shops were very happy that there comming tourists again. And now that! Our Spanish friend who is working in a hotel in Morro Jable told us about many things that we hadn't seen in the TV news, read in newspapers or seen in any other social media channels at home. My heart is breaking right now. What can we do to help the citizens of this beautiful island ! That’s really terrible !
Hi JP, thank you for the update, I can’t believe Corralejo could be so quiet. Every time I have ever been there it has been mad busy, I hope the shops, bars and restaurants can weather this storm. I presume you all have to wear a mask/ face covering whilst outside as well as inside? We would normally be visiting El Cotillo in the first half of November for a week to 10 days, we will certainly miss it this year. Your films are excellent and always arrive just at the right time for me, I’m not sure how you do that, It’s much appreciated. Thank you again for a good walk around, take care, regards, Chris.
Yes, stupid masks outside when walking around, even when you don't go near anyone - but of course you can sit in a bar drinking beer without one! Thanks for watching Chris.
Hi John. Was in Lanzarote last week and I'm afraid it was much the same in Playa Blanca and Puerto Del Carmen.Absolutely nobody around and a lot of businesses closed. It's disgraceful that the Canary 's have been lumped together with mainland Spain for covid purposes because I believe it's just scaremongering by european governments.Aer Lingus advertised that they would be flying to Fuerte in October, but now it's 22nd December after cancelling the previous flights.Thank God for Ryanair because I'm back in November to keep my sanity during the winter darkness.
Good Stuff again JP thank you. Was there 29/8- 12/9 based at Bahia de Lobos and walked daily down the strip and the beaches./port. Wonderful time, mostly Spanish & Italian tourists which was good as can get by in both lingos!.Bit busier then than your latest vlog when there but still very quiet compared to visiting last year. A couple of times walked past the CItrus, saw someone whom looked like you but unfortunately wasn't ! Next year ! look out for the panama! Cheers matey!
Back home after 3 weeks there......back to reality and quarantine. Busiest place I found was the Mercadona. Town beach area was busier especially with the local kids jumping in the sea, must have been at least 50 but when the park area is closed behind music square the kids will go elsewhere.
That must be the most popular place for local kids to hang out throughout the summer. Rather more pleasant than hanging out outside shops all evening being a nuisance like they do in the UK. Juvenile Nuisance jobs were probably my least favourite to go to. A teenage girl bit my arm through my fleece and drew blood once. Thanks for watching.
I can't believe how quiet it is. I still can't make up my mind when to visit as I read in Fuerteventura Hoy online that Fuerteventura and some other islands, because of the increase in infections, have been put on red traffic light by the ministry of health of the Canaries which means that hotel, restaurant and terrace establishments, as well as beach bars and restaurants have to close by twelve and new customers cannot be admitted after eleven o'clock. Also events of more that 10 people are not allowed. This is a translation by Google so I think it is correct. I just wish it would all go away and get back to normal.
Hi JP always good to see Your posts,We're missing Fuerte big time and honestly don't know when We'll be able to return,I agree with You regards what on earth is going on??? Have the politicos a hidden agenda? figures don't add up and if We as the lay people can see it surely the government must realise that too.On a different tack when You next go into Corallecco there is a small wooden chiringuito by the port run by a lovely lady, just wondered if She was still going?Anyway keep well, until next time ,Jon and Donna from very cold Poole.
I think that hut was open when I walked past a few weeks ago. It used to be located nearer the centre on the front 10 years or so ago. Thanks for watching.
Really enjoying your videos jp hope to get there soon...you walked passed Cordon Blue..had many a great full english breakfast there and great staff Tam... bet the dunes are quiet.. Cheers.
@@JPinFuerteventura lol...I am really missing Fuert jp... more than you know...want to be there sometime in November all being well..corallejo/El cotillo etc... and thanks for your reply and for educating me regarding Nico' s Belgium beer place..lol...watching allways..loved the stroll you did down flag beach. My heart broke when I realised reynaldo's beach bar was no more down on the dunes.... Kind regards Chris.
Thanks for the tour JP.Much appreciated .I particularly like Nicos. At the risk of being contentious I can give you many examples of economies being reinvigorated but non of dead people .
Thanks for the update JP. Haven’t been on the island since we escaped lockdown in March. Not great seeing the place so quiet, businesses must be struggling
John your a star, just found your vids etc and this most recent one is so very sad indeed, in particular cafes / shops closed such as Tiffany's where I usually have my breakfast. Despite the doom and gloom presently I have looked at buying an aprtment in Corralejo in last couple of years so my question is, how has the pandemic affected property prices as still interested in moving over from Jockland. Many thanks in anticipation and keep up the great posts..
I think it is possibly too early for prices to have changed dramatically although I can't imagine them going up because of the situation. It could be a good time to buy soon although property isn't such a good investment as it is in the UK, even in good times. Thanks for watching Stuart.
Ah JP we are only back. What a wonderful place. All the restaurants are so safe and conscientious of the safeguarding guidelines that are in place. Really hope people start going back......if only the quarantine of 14 days could be taken away with some form of pre and post testing of this virus.
Phoned jet 2 to get an update and they said hotel bristol playas was being refurbished and I could cancel. As soon as it's practical to travel we will be there. Love corralejo. Thanks for the video.
its so sad, jp we should be there next week but due to restrictions its a no go ,may be in march 2021, i am a key worker here in UK and i can tell you its go go , its non stop for me , next holiday is march hopefully i can be sunning my self on those wonderful beaches in my favorite place in the world xxx and niccos Belgian beers
@@JPinFuerteventura your right, lets hope that vaccine they keep promising us arrives soon as our lives seem to be slipping away with time we will never get back.
Unfortunately JP as a Canaries Island lover it greaves me to say that the Brits that I speak to are quite adamant that when holidays resume the EU Country’s that have been so bitter and tried their hardest to punish the U.K. and it’s holidaymakers will not see for many many years a return to us spending money in those Country’s.
Although itis nice to have a quiet holiday, I do feel sorry for all the businesses and their staff. What a sorry sight to see. when you think how much the people have invested in upgrading the town, and then came Covid-19... I just hope it will soon get better. On the good side, at least you can now get appointments with the dentists without long waiting times. 😊 You and your family stay safe. Best wishes.
Nico told me that before he moved to Fuerte he used to drive high spec cars for tv ads. Mountain roads, deserts that sort of thing. Sad to see Corralejo so quiet. The latest lockdowns don’t bode well for us all. Bleak times ahead. Thanks for posting JP.
Thks for sharing🙏🎊😇is Fuertoventura open for tourist traveling right now??? Couse we don't know should we fly now or should we wait til New year? Can you give more info in your videos about how situation changing every week? Would be really helpful for those who wanna travel right now or later to Fuertoventura, Spain
Fuerteventura is open - there are no restrictions on coming in. The problem is with the UK and German governments imposing restrictions on those returning. Thanks for watching.
We visit the villa at least once a Year (1 minute walk from Flintstones Bar) and every day we go to either the Campanario or into town. It must be devastating for all the businesses. As soon as we are able we will be back!
I was due to fly out Saturday the 3rd , I’ve moved it to the same time next year. Hopefully things will be back to normal by then , I have my doubts though.☹️
With no British tourists it is still quiet. Fortunately Corralejo does have a reasonably large resident population which is helping to keep bars and restaurants surviving.
This is so sad to see 😞. Jet2 have just announced that all flights to the Canary Islands have been suspended for the whole of October. Can't wait to be back.
I have many pictures taken there , those large steaks served on volcanic stone "plates" its gone now but wow the memories how many times did i trip up the step going in 🤦🏻♀️. They were the days, it has sadly gone. I have many friends (Spanish) in Corralejo and Parque Holandes who i met in the 1980's they have seen so many changes , if you remember the volcanic stone restaurant you must remember Corralejo high street just being a dirt road , as i said the memories , this is the first year i havent been, my mum passed away on 3rd May from covid, she loved Corralejo too. Thank you for taking me on a memory trip with the restaurant and sorry my comment is long. Take care stay safe 😷
I only see tourists when I go to Corralejo or El Cotillo so most days there is little difference for me. But when I do go it is rather depressing. Thanks for watching Sue.
Thank you for the nice video! Unfortunately, this pandemic is far from over globally. Maybe in Fuerteventura. In the Netherlands, the cases increase by 2000 per week now and we are on the verge of a new wave. Deaths are also increasing.
Just like in the UK the "cases" are increasing in the Netherlands as they are testing so much more Eva. The deaths are still very low. March 31st - 1988 cases/225 deaths, yesterday - 2776 cases/16 deaths.
Where are the tourists unbelievable Tiffany ,s closed had a lot of breakfasts there and dulche de Letche for the cafe leche leche and afcourse the Belgian beer bar for the tripels it’s a mess in the world these days
Its a bit bizarre jp when if i go on holiday to Fuerteventura i don't have to isolate myself as where i live the infection rates are higher than where you are , And yet i would have to stay at home for 2 weeks after i came back this makes no sense at all, Cheers an all the best.
I don't suppose I can use an EHIC card any more?... just paused and Googled. Got this from the BBC News page: The UK is currently in a Brexit transition period with the EU until 31 December 2020, during which your EHIC will remain valid.
I wish there was a way we could help the businesses there something like - buy a pint (virtually via pay pal etc ) now and we will get it once we get there when the pandemic is under control
JP in Fuerteventura Dorada, Estrella, tea, coffe or any think that could help the islands. Like a voucher scheme - maybe in €5 increments. I really fear for the future of all the smaller islands (Tenerife might be ok)
"Ghost Town! You can here the echos of peoples voices", Tourists fill the streets and shops" they must make changes, too easy for to long", they need to produce and export something", Time for Entrepreneurs to realise this, For the last 15yrs my 5 weeks in Fuerte, I used to spend over£4,000,, I dont think I will be doing that in the near future", Like others" Staycation in UK, for the foreseeable future,
There is little chance of any industries being created here unless perhaps they were to make some radical changes to the tax system to encourage investment. Thanks for watching Nick.
And they are my trainers, I stopped wearing my dog walking shoes as they clomped. The external mic seems to pick up particular sounds more than others. Thanks for watching Lee.
Complete madness that masks are worn outside like that, I'm sorry but I won't return until that is changed, cdc have now retracted their findings on the virus being airborne, I really hope all those business' survive ❤️❤️
Wow, this is crazy. Do people have to wear a mask outside in the open on the beach or waterfront walking along the walkway (8:58)? Thank you so much for this walk through Corralejo at this time. I sure hope this will change soon and restaurants, bars and cafes will survive this artificial pandemic situation.
Love your channel JP but can't agree with you're stance on COVID. To say the cases have gone up because tests have gone up came out of Trumps gob a few months ago and we all laughed. The threat is real, cases go up, hospital admissions follow and deaths follow that, just ask the people on the ground dealing with it in hospitals, especially the NHS.
I agree with every comment you've made. It's not a Flippin conspiracy. It's not about government control. It's not fake, which if saying so is an insult to all those families who have lost loved ones. It's about a virus which is killing people and/or causing suffering including in the long term serious lung, kidney and other health issues. The numbers are increasing, again, people have become complacent. It will never end until those not taking it seriously will do so.
@@Cherubx Well, what a lot of people are doing is burying their head in the sand which a very dangerous game to play, especially if you have elderly relatives (or are elderly yourself). More than a 10% mortality rate in some age groups. Remember clapping for the NHS? Remember the Diamond Princess?
ma per caso vuoi fare arrabbiare Max Lejesonfe ? guarda che quello se qualcuno parla male del turismo di Corralejo s'incazza e comincia fare video dissing AHAHAHHAH
