Yo dude, thanks to this video. I changed my own backbox and saved labour costs, plus my Corsa got through it's MOT because of this video. Thanks for the tutorial.
Just changed my center section (standard) and put a new back box on, I'm thinking of getting this back box but don't want it to sound too loud, is it loud or not ?
Hello mate, i know you posted this a while back, i just wondered if you could tell me if your exhaust came with all the fixtures (clamps bolts gasket etc) included or not? Cheers dude! And great video :)
great video again ! when I changed my corsa c backbox my exhaust was that rusty under the clamp when I pulled the back box some of the centre pipe came with it so I had to go and get it welded haha ! I also had a hornet exhaust on mine they will sound a touch louder after a few weeks my exhaust seemed to 'bed in' and get a little bit more raspier
The centre section on mine I changed when I got the car a year ago, so I didn't have that issue! Lol ah really? I did wonder if it would get a little quieter after a while that's actually a good thing to hear as it drones quite loud, thanks for watching and commenting matr
Thanks for sharing. Think I'm going to fit one of these to my Tigra B 1.4. Just need to know if it's nice loud in the cabin, or annoying loud. Purrs really nicely on your SXI. Would be nice to hear it at higher RPM from the cabin.
Hi mate. I just purchased the same back box for the corsa 1.0l sxi. Did you use the exhaust back box clamps from your original one... How was it after a little drive round???
You raised a pretty good point to be honest; I own a Corsa C 1.2 SXI as well and I've wanted to fit a back box for a while but the opinions of others are a little too inhospitable for my liking. People just seem to be rather annoyed when people have loud cars, especially when they are small engined :D despite it being their personal choice. Regardless, another great video and I'm still surprised your channel is still 'relatively' small; you deserve far more support than you have because your videos are great quality, informative and straight to the point with a friendly personality behind them! P.S. I take it you live in the north? ;)
Thinking of doing this to my Astra, I’m only looking for a nice deep purr and not a stupid loud noise. What’s it like when driving and at high revs ? Thanks
If the back box pipe is pushed as far as it can go into the middle section pipe the seal should be tight enough that paste isn't needed. It's more of a peace of mind thing, for the sake of about £6 extra it's always a good idea to get some silicone stuff and apply it.
i went with a decat manifold straight through mid section. and a twin hornet cherry bomb. i welded a performance resonator into the mid pipe. and the thing sounds mint. along with my induction kit and remap it spits and pops. and for a 1.2 it doesnt pull bad at all
i bought asr induction kit off ebay and the remap i got done at castle coombe near bristol they do live remap and do a road map round the track. costs alot but luckily im friendly with one of the lads down there and got it on the cheap cheap. makes 96bhp. also i installed an oil catch can. i found my engine was pumping alot of oil through the inlet and causing a flat spot at low revs. i blanked off both the maifold and the inlet pipe. and then re-routed them into a catch tank. that helped alot with throttle response. i also specified on my remap to run it slightly rich on over run to make it pop and crackle. but not enough to bore-wash the cylinders. plus its completely stripped and various handeling upgrades. so drives mint www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ash-Vauxhall-Corsa-C-1-0-1-2-16V-Petrol-Induction-Filter-Kit-/290805689651?hash=item43b55ead33:m:mJHQMhjnKqzbK8eMtOlCi4Q
Is this still a UK legal exhaust? As in this is not a decat still has one built in? Am quite a novice to cars lol just I'm looking at getting a 3"hornet backbox
i was always told not to jack in the center of the axle as there is risk of bowing it i was always told to jack up from the end of the axle or a different jack point (jack point on seals normally) whats peoples experience on this please also would you be able to supply a link to one that has all the brackets like this one please
I've just put a Hoffmann cat back system 3" rolled tip on my mk4 astra 1.6 looks exactly the same as that lol. I regretted it cuz it was crazy loud but it's calmed right down now either that or I'm used to it.
I'll be either using a Hornet Back Box or a Cherry Bomb one, and I've read that it's illegal to purposefully make your exhaust system louder. I've got an Astra Mk 4 1.4 16v,. does it sound good, and have you had any complaints?
where are you from i recognise the accent, also are these sxi's nippy im thinking of getting one as my first car in a couple months as they are cheap as chips to buy and insure and itll be the sxi i look to get if i do
Hallo mate! I like your videos! Just want to ask you i have the corsa c 52 plate 1,2 sxi 16v, and i want to know how to check is it twinport or not ? Any idea? Thank you!
Your car cannot fail an MOT on the volume of the exhaust - It can, however, fail an MOT if it's not fitted properly and there are leaks etc. However, it will not fail on how loud it is; although, please bear in mind though that if you're sitting in a public place revving the nuts of your car you'll probably be charged with public disturbance or for being a nuisance. Other than that, you'll be fine!
hey man. good videos. i have a vauxhall corsa 1.2 2006. i just recently bought. however there is a slight issue with the headunit. The headunit still remains turned on when the ignition is off. do u know what the cause of this problem is. the headunit does randomly switched to fm radio when a cd is playing. and randomly turns on when ignition is off. it occasionly goes to mute. please help.
Not related but can anyone give me advise on timing chain recently bought a Corsa c 1.4 it's on 78k and have no history of the chain being done when should I get it looked and how bad is the noise when they start to go lol. Cheers
dude im having a lot of trouble getting the back box pipe from the rest of exhaust pipe and i dont have no angle grinder oh and the back box is broken off pipe
Not a special clamp. It's standard. If anything, cars have been using these for a long time. Newer ones - ie 90s used a different type to steer away from these. Interesting the Nova C uses old technology. Placing the jack as a safety is not going to do anything. Car rolls forward or back, it's off the axle stands and the jack will no go into the fuel tank or body. Leaving in gear should help.
I have this on my Corsa, full race pipe from manifold too and it's way too f*cking loud, sounds good but cars not fast enough for it, I'm more sure the police will make me change a hornet exhaust. I'd advise backbox only, they're loud but not too loud :)
Wango So something like this would be fine? My car just sound not right for me, I want something that'll remove the higher frequencies of the engine sound and make it sound just...better. Something like this would do I think, so, thanks!
I like the backbox with standard pipe, it quietens down after a few miles is loud and sporty but not overly loud (always had a filter with mine) but the whole system including the race pipe without the silencer is barbaric. I don't even go by 60 because it's that loud but with the standard pipe (inc silencer) and backbox, it sounds sporty and it shifts fairly quick and can easily catch things up. My advice is backbox and filter over the whole system. After all it's a deep throaty sound and not high pitched at all. The full system sounds like a VXR and loves to pop and crackle, even the backbox loves a good old crackle when being steady but if you want something nice, loudish and deep, this maybe for you
SorahFx it comes with a clip for hanging it, a bracket to secure it and a tapered pipe that allows two different diameter exhaust pipes to join smoothly. Only thing you need is maybe the exhaust bonding paste but I don't think it's totally needed. Take the parts to a local garage etc, I got mine fitted for £30 and it took less than an hour mate
my hornet backbox on my clio sounded the nuts but the bracket and fitment of it meant it went through rubber hangars like nobodies business and hung lower than my dads ballsack. in the end i just took it off and gave it away
You cut the old silencer off and replace it with the one he had, its perfectly legal aslong as it doesn't go over a certain decibel reading, which they've got covered
Can get these off amazon and eBay for like £60-70 would recommend buying the ones with brackets as they are easier to install. Had one of these with a ram air induction kit on my sxi. Fucking insurance company bollocksed me so I had to remove everything ffs
i cut out the centre box on my 1.0 just and i have to say it sounds decent. kind of need it cause i have no rev counter ahaha. check it out i have a video on my channel of her.
I've came to UK recently and all I hear is loud exhaust pipes, bov's and other obnoxious things. But in reality we all know that they're fitted on basic, stock cars with no other mods. It's kinda cringy when all these loud and "moded" cars would get destroyed by even slightly moded (for real) rides. If you want a loud car - get one with a bigger engine but if you can't afford it, don't make a fool out of yourself otherwise you'll look like a full time ricer.
