In 2019. I will be considering to make another PC build. I love the challenges of building one, and making it look really clean, with cable management a plus. I will be searching for the perfect case when the time comes. And it will be of Tempered Glass on all sides. So all you manufacturers out there.. Get your cases perfected by then. I'm requesting this because it would help us to know if any chasis is providing finer and higher quality filters at the top (I presume that less fine quality means more air will be blocked). Thanks! Awesome review! Looks like a great case. One question though... Can adding additional SP120 RGB LED case fans at the rear and top be linked to the existing 3 front case fans so they all change colour together from the case IO panel?

Love the case! It's among my favorite from corsair! But, Corsair, could you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make top radiator support a bit better? It's my biggest gripe with Corsair cases, is that their AIO coolers just barely squeeze into most of their mid tower cases. For example, my Corsair 450D w/ H105 is actually pushing one of my VRM heatsinks a bit, almost making installation impossible.

Milan Venter That is something to think about. Per their site looks like the interior is staying exactly the same as the P400S as well. Means 360 rad in the front if I pull that HDD cage under the PSU cover...we may have a winner. Just FYI, a 360 rad is about 2x the cooling needed for a 6600k with 1080 GTX silent build.

I currently have the s340 elite, but had been a fan of the P400s, but decided against it because of the lack of tempered glass, and only afterwards found out bout the tempered p400s. Thought that if someone likes the aesthetics of the one, then they might like the other

i have this case and its great but radiator fitting is a bit complicated, i have an h115i and the rad fits but fans can so i have jury rigged my 2 140 mm fans only with two screws each

What a fantastic video. Shot so beautifully! I'd probably opt in for the 400C. Something about the tempered glass front looks weird, IMO. Maybe it's the RGB fans I'm not a big fan of.

+Snazzy Labs thanks man! Yes, 400C offers a more closed off look despite the large window panel. This way no fans are visible & I love how the 460X looks with a simple no-LED build. Just the fans illuminating the hardware. It's kind of cool.

It looks to me like the glass is tinted, if you notice when he has the two displayed side-by-side, the white behind the 460X is more yellowish than the white behind the 400C.

I assume they do their market research and see that majority of users put some exhaust fans at the top, thus creating a panel to cover it up costly to include for 90% of people not to use them.

HardwareCanucks All true. However, they could sell it as an accessory, don't you think? This is a little like the opposite of Fractal's approach with NOT including top dust filters until the new define C-series. I want a silent tempered glass case. That's all I'm asking for. Thus the top panel need not be vented (at least not for me). XD

6 years later and the design of this case is still timeless. might not have the best cable managment space and you need to put in some up to date fans but other then that its perfect. it laid the foundation for almost all cases today.

JayJapanB The issue isn't cabling its that I live in Australia and cooling is a bitch on that case. I either have to have no intake fans, no HDD rack or a small aircooler, thus no overclocking.

Rizzen I'm Australian too! Hmmm, I don't use mechanical drives so I didn't consider that. It looks like you can fit two HDDs and a 240 rad in the front though. Just google image search and see what others have done.

JayJapanB The problem is there is no front air intake, the front mount pulls from the bottom intake afaik. Which will be covered by a HDD mounting bracket... I would go with a 140mm rad but I doubt I would be able to get a good OC with that. Wish I had all SSD storage but I don't really wanna throw $1000 in storage alone.

Nah, the cage is behind the INWIN logo part and that is essentially the shroud for the intake it seems.

In case anyone is looking to get this case in 2020: I bought this in 2018 and I can say it's a nightmare to build in. My back panel has quite a bulge because of the awful space. I had to pretty much rebuild my system due to my PSU failing and forgot how much of a headache building in this case was. The PSU shroud/HDD cover is difficult to line up and removing it was another story. Great looks but not very user friendly.

i'll be honest, that case does look rather attractive, though i'd be most worried about the front panel and side panel and also. WHAT THE LIVING F**** IS THE DAMN INTRO SONG? EVEN SOUNDHOUND DOESN'T HELP And for reals, if anybody does know the name of the song. Don't resort to silence. Just say it. because I'm sure people are sick of seeing "WHAT'S THE INTRO SONG" "WHAT'S THE SONG" In the comets. And same would go for the youtuber uploading the videos.

If the springs are too strong, heat them a little bit with lighter/flame. But be carefull, because you can easily overdo it and then it will be too weak.

I actaully had this case and I cannot tell you how much I hate it now. There is NO SPACE for cable management on the right side panel at all. Legit just the 24pin cable is enough to make the side panel hard to fit, and if you're thinking of using sleeved extentions you better prey they are short extentions. The glass panel screws are made of ALUMINIUM in a STEEL case so they shredded real fast when i got the glass upside down once. And the faff with the front panel screws to clean the filter is a joke, its SO annoying to deal with on a regular basis. Other than that it is a great case. Make sure to take that top filter off though when gaming otherwise your thermals will SUUUUUUUUCK XD

4:35 I've always wondered why there's a need for a dust filter on a fan that blows OUT of the case. Obviously intake fan filters are beneficial but why on exhaust fans?

If you just happen to live in SEA or atleast Indonesia, look for SG-K7 lol they've made a similar looking casing with exactly 3 RGB fan infront couple months back.

A little review 5 years later... My current build with 5950X and an RTX 3090 sits nicely in a GX460X case. Although the original SP120 fans are efficient at pulling air from outside, they are a little bit out of date for a modern RGB case, so I'm replacing them with some RGB ML120s to match my H100i AIOs fans (sadly the original 2500 RPM versions aren't available anymore). IIRC, there is an option for software control on the SP hub, but there's no way to use it with my Gigabyte board. Front filter does require occasional cleaning, the same is true for the PSU filter. I've removed the top dust filter as it blocks way too much airflow. CPU temps have dropped 4-5 degrees C without the filter. I'd rather clean dust than cook my expensive CPU. The glass panels attact fingerprints and will require cleaning if you service your system often. The original build I bought this case for was a 9700K build with a 2080 Ti and am old non-modular (!) Corsair TX850 V2 power supply (I had to do my best at cable management to squeeze all those excess cables behind that back panel). My current build is a second build for this case.

Just bought this Case. Its really great but if u put the dust filter on, ur fan noise and cpu temp might increase...maybe its just on my build Cpu with Dust filter on: 34-37 without: 28-32 i5 7600k (kaby lake) Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU-Kühler 2 van front 1 top

Mm...if this was $110 I'd seriously be unsure as to whether I wanted to buy the 460X or S340 Elite. However, the price kills my doubt. It's beautiful and the integrated fan lighting is great but for $30 more it's not quite worth it.. T_T

I just want a case that has: Tempered Glass on side & Front Easy tool - less removal of glass side panel Captive thumb screws Sound dampening (even for the top mounts, something like moduvents would be great) Good cable management routing & high quality rubber grommets A 4 speed, 4 fan fan controller intergrated into the I/O

Anybody know a good, reasonably priced horizonal mATX or ATX PC case? I'm trying to put it in a flat cubby that's about 32 inches diagonally and it's like 10 inches thick. Please help me out, I've been searching all over.

If you're going to have a power supply shroud, there needs to be room for cutouts below the motherboard. I don't care if the cutouts are in the shroud or on the motherboard tray. Also, copy the shroud-top SSD mounts from the S430 elite. Also, add two inches to the height of the case so that top-radiator mounting is simple. The case is glass so that you can see everything.... not so that you can see that the radiator covers half the motherboard. I think this case has lots of potential, because it is the only one of its peers (S340 Elite, P400S TG, Aurora) which showcases the front LED fans. And if I have to pay for the fans with the case, at least make them PWM fans. If you're going for gold, then also make the fans compatible with the colour-contollers being incorprated in today's motherboards.

Great video, Won't lie though I went from a S340 to the 400C.. biggest mistake ever, especially when you look at the price difference. Honestly S340 was the better case hands down ! !

+HardwareCanucks i was about to buy this case, but after watching your review, im having second thoughts. the rare drive cages make my OCD a little cray cray, the fact you need to use low profile ram if you want a top rad. they might seem minor, but these are all things i take into consideration. It annoys me that i consider this more over the 570x due to the lack of the psu shroud extension. I feel they kind of stuffed up on both models :( Excellent review though bud, thumbs up.

Tengo el mismo gabinete en color blanco y deciros que el sistema de gestión de cables es de los peores que he visto para una caja que supera los 120€ de pecio. Tengo un sistema de refrigeración líquida en la parte superior más los 3 ventiladores del frente más el da la parte trasera. Compre un pack de corsair rgb con un controlador... Y para meter todos los cables con un solo disco duro ssd no tuve huevos a cerrar la caja por los cables y eso que lo organice todo genial con bridas y alambres del pan bimbo etc... Al final tuve que quitar las extension de color blanco que me compré para el cable de 24 pines de la placa base... Sino no me cerraba ni de coña... Decir que mi fuente es modular pero cuando conectas uno d esos cables te viene Con varias conexiones más para que conectes varios dispositivos a la vez en el mismo cable cosa que yo no aprovecho y se me quedan colgando abajo en la parte de abajo. Los tuve que meter todos ahi hecho un lío y rezar para que por fin me cerrará la caja. Por el pecio que tiene considerando seriamente comprar otra caja diferente y sustituirla.

I wish manufacturers could ask your opinion or communiy's opinion before they release a product. I know that's too much to ask but Paul form Paul's Hardware released a video on 570X and I didn't like it (the case not the video) and I don't like this one either, I think it's a great idea but poorly executed!

Kor3AxD the front panel is insanely beautiful on the 805 inf. BUT for me that is the only plus point in comparision to the evolv TG. Would the 805 would have these crazy edged shapes on the front like the evolv tg it would win maybe. Evolv TG is life .. like Dima said :)

This might be a lot to ask but, nowadays I find that case reviews always hark on the same old issues again and again. As if somehow the issue is a huge problem but easy to fix. Take for example the top dust filters. They're there for the purpose of filtering the dust through the vent. And, as a consequence, there is going to be reduced airflow. There's not much we can do about that yet people always talk about it as if they believe that it somehow enforces their bottom line: Is this case a worthy purchase? It's not as if there's an easy solution to this issue nor is it a flaw with the case. At the end of the day, would most people really consider an airflow obstructing fan filter to be a make or break deal?

Is it just me or does the audio sound muffled on HC's videos compared to others? Slightly too bassy maybe. Video absolutely incredible as always however!
