I just bought this keyboard yesterday as of "10.5.20" and I gotta say... typing on this thing is amazing! It is nice and crisp. I love it. Playing Modern Warfare with this thing is also amazing. No complaints at all! I recommend it.
I've had mine for almost 2 years now but I wanted to check a review before recommending it to a friend. Great review here! Honestly, when I bought it at Best Buy I had a $150 budget and I ended up getting this because it had all of the features I liked and I wasn't finding the right combination of looks and features at the $150 price point. I liked the macros, wanted a full number pad and some basic media controls. As an avid gamer who also kind of sucks at multiplayer shooters, I haven't figured out the huge advantage of an expensive mechanical keyboard. Sometimes I try to find something to complain about in order to manufacture a reason to upgrade my keyboard and I haven't found one outside of the fact that it doesn't match my Logitech mouse. Up until now I've had no use for the macros and wasn't sure it was worth it getting a cheaper keyboard for a feature I don't use. Now that I'm starting to use OBS and trying to set up a podcast, those 6 macro keys are invaluable, saving me $100 on something like an Elegato stream deck mini while still providing me a limited amount of that type of functionality in terms of things like scene switching.
I've used this for two years now and I just love it, still. Not a gamer myself, more into casual computing as well as video and photo editing. Never really liked the loud clicky mechanical keyboards, this one is silent, easy and comfortable to type on. Plus those macrokeys really come in handy with videoediting. Love it.

Same but I do have one problem with it, I have been taking perfect care of it but, all the sudden while I was playing rainbow six siege, the wasd keys decided to have heavy input lag or sometimes not even work, idk how to fix it but it’s annoying
I bought the Corsair K55 just yesterday, and I highly recommend buying it. The RGB looks amazing once you figure out how to use the iCUE software, and it sounds and feels really nice. For only 50$, the K55 is an amazing deal.
Same the audio controls are so convenient, I have a k70 mk2 but it has basically the same audio controls and that is one of the main reasons I love Corsair keyboards

@@vomie472 yes you do, you can even instal a specific driver from their website for the k55 to customize every single button the way you want, including color and function.

You reviewers don't really break it down. The keyboard is liquid resistant. It has drains on the bottom not only that you can take it apart just a few screws and you can literally wash all the keys super east. It's one of the best keyboards people don't know about. I have corsair k95 and I still use this one more because it'd liquid resistant and I'm clumsy and I like my booze.
I bought this keyboard for my computer at work, since the Dell keyboards were so boring, and its now been in fairly heavy use for several years with no issues. At $50, its a little more than what I wanted to spend for a membrane keyboard, but I like it a lot.
Question to K55 owners: I'm looking for a membrane keyboard that feels like a regular office keyboard in terms of key travel, the force used to press the keys and key spacing. How close to that is the K55? Thanks.

Tip, try to show us the ghosting of the keys, how many you can press at the same time and the measurements so you know how much space it will take with and without the wrist rest
Agree 100% about the macro keys, pain in the ass to copy and paste and throws everything off because it’s an extra set of keys that you aren’t use to (or ever get use to)
Thanks for the keyboard review. I was using the Cooler Master NovaTouch TKL. Which is a very good keyboard. However, it's wasn't back lit. While visting Wally World one day for groceries. I stumbled upon and purchased the logitech G413 Carbon, for $73. It's back-lit, (red only) and uses logitech's proprietary Romer-G mechanical switches. Been using this one a little over a year now. I've had my eye, on the Corsair K65 RGB Mechanical Keyboard. Me thinks this may be my next keyboard purchase.

My only complaints for this keyboard is the occasional glitching to where the set lighting of my choice resets to the normal rgb due to not reading the keyboard. A simple unplugging of the keyboard and plugging it back in is a quick fix. Gets annoying.
I’ve had it for years it’s a good keyboard and if you want the gaming feel (rgb) without it being a mechanical one . However if your more of a true gamer don’t get it . Recommend if your only really using for school or typing not for gaming. Over all it’s a good keyboard for the price
Hey random question, not sure if you'd remember, but does it feel awkwardly longer/heavier than most keyboards or about the same. Because of the macros. My desk is pretty small but I dont think it will matter much
I’m currently deciding between the Steelseries Apex 3 and the Corsair K55. I’ve watched reviews of both of those keyboards (yes, including the Techne!) and I find both of them very interesting and unique. Which one should I buy? I have a small budget so really these keyboards are the most expensive ones I choose to buy. Let me know your thoughts!

I seriously hope someone is able to help me. I have looked through this comment section and haven't seen anyone mention this MAJOR ISSUE My K55 RGB keyboard simply refuses to cooperate. It malfunctioned the same day I purchased it. I went back to Best Buy and had it replaced with another keyboard (exact same one) and the issue didn't go away. I have tried everything from resetting the keyboard to reinstalling the drivers. I have also been through all similar issue forums over at the Corsair Forum Site. People who have reported this issue have come to the conclusion that Corsair either cannot find a fix, or they just stopped caring. The only time this keyboard works is when you leave it unplugged for DAYS, then it gives out after about a 2 day usage. I highly doubt that it's my PC due to the fact that it hasn't been a year since I bought my PC. Every other keyboard that I've used (I've used about 5) has worked perfectly fine. But this keyboard is just not cooperating in the slightest.
@@TheTechne yeah. The issue is that the keyboard would start typing by itself (random keys would be spammed), it was so bad that I couldn't even adjust anything without my keyboard interrupting.
I got a Razer cynosa pro a couple years ago. used it for a day then put it on the self. No space between caps-lock and A. That's important to me and my clumsy fingers. Put My Logitech G-15 back in it's place, Old reliable. It appears that this Keyboard in your Video Knows this issue and Put a space between caps and A.
This keyboard is quite expect for the shift, space, enter, 0 on the num pad. After a while (For me, about 8 months) the 1 key, got mushy. Also the shift key doesn't get mushy, but the CTRL key gets mushy over time. (The space key is really loud, could be mine, but the space is loud enough to hear through headphones)
Hey you should do a review on the logitech g213 gaming keyboard it seems like a very interesting keyboard , also very good video it was straight to the point and great.
@OpT Blynk I have the alloy fps which is the lower model with blue switches and no rgb its good but I would prefer something with brown switches for fps games blue I feel have to long of a key stroke
Kinda need to retire my old Corsair Raptor K30 for a keyboard with RGB, since the rest of my setup is RGB, and I like to switch in between colour schemes. The Raptor K30 has red backlighting. The downside is the Raptor K30 has the same 6 keys, but 3 memory banks, effectively giving 18 macros (for gaming, productivity etc)...to go down to 6 with the K55... Then again, I only use 6 for MMOs like Star Trek Online and its abilities tray--raining hell on Klingons and the Borg with the push of a button. This might be the right fit for me. I've never been all that interested in having a mechanical keyboard.
Follow-up: Had the K55 for a week now. I don't know if it's because the K30 was just well-worn, or my mind is playing tricks, but the K55 just feels a more tactile to ms. Since I have LL120 and LL140 fans as well as their LED strips, and a Sabre RGB mouse. Everything being controlled through iCUE is just...satisfying. I switch between a colour scheme that is like something out of TRON, and something based on LCARS from Star Trek TNG/DS9/VOY.
I watched this review and I didn't understand how you can get those macro keys mixed up.... until i got the keyboard... and I started getting off key. I think it's probably because I subconsciously feel for the end of the keyboard to know that last row...now there is an additional row there confusing me.
A 15 Dollar Mouse is likely shitty, even if the mouse was discounted because of the combo and is usually 25$, it would still be crap. Crosair is known for their Keyboards on top of the fact that 25$ is sus cheap. Then again, I had a Masione Keyboard that was 25$ and it was the best keyboard I've ever owned, even better than more expensive keyboards I had until I found the K55.
I have had the k55 for about 6 months i have to replug it into my computer every time i start it up and it will randomly stop working and i have to restart my computer about 3 times for it to start working and i use a diffrent keybord and none of that happens so in my thoughts its good for the first months after that it sucks
Very disappointing .. I just purchased the K55 quiet ... I am having problems with it. I am having key lag. For $130 it is ridiculous. I only purchased it because of review on consumer reports and other places. I have looked online with no luck. I contact Corsair and all I got was to reset. It worked for a bit then started up again. I'm about to throw this keyboard in my driveway and run it over. It's on l y been a couple of days since I received it
Disagreements x ahhaha!! Me tooo! Got same keyboard and mouse and i’m really good now at shooters and various games. Tryed razer keyboard prior and i was trash. Like this setup though
Love this keybaord but I play on a ps4 with this so if I accidentally press a macro key then the whole keybaord won't work and I have to fully disconnect it and plug it in again. This is a great keybaord though
I'm confused. On 1 clip the RGB went through the keys, but in the other clips, the RGB did not go through the keys. Anyone who owns the keyboard and can explain this, please reply
I've had mine for 1.5 years and the legends on the keycaps are fully translucent, I've had no problems what so ever alone the rgb, BTW the rgb hasn't dimmed
Which is better, Corsair K55 or Logitech g213. If I had to pick one, which one should I get? Please include price. From where I live the Corsair K55 cost 39.99 while the Logitech g213 cost 41.99. What should I buy?
