I love videos like this. Your lessons have really helped me improve a lot over the past year, and your channel is great. I don't pretend to know much about guitar manufacturers, but hearing you talk about it is so interesting. Your love for the instrument and music shows with every video.
Cort mini (traveller) was the guitar that got me back into guitars after a 20 yr hiatus. It was a no frills unit but it got me hooked back into playing, so fond memories of Cort.
I have had the Pau Ferro version for 6 months now, couldn't be more pleased, fantastic tone and playability. For people that like to pay a premium for a big name on the headstock or, even more stupidly, care about which country it was produced, go ahead and waste your money.
☑️ got the gold a6 I'm with you all the way on all aspects of your informative review 👍 a6 is insanely value packed loved the torrified top 😊 chose mine from a fresh offering of a6 and oc6 via peach UK ; went for the a6 based solely on its gorgeous flame mahogany back wood , discovered afterward the a6 had the wider neck than the oc6 much to my fingerstyle play delight , normally I would go for an OM over an auditorium model body but glad I chose the auditorium ❗️😊
hey dave! I was just learning "Smells like teen spirit" from one of your videos when this notification popped up! :D and Congratulations, that's an amazing axe!
That's a really nice looking guitar. The tone is awesome as well! May I ask what string gauge do you usually use on your acoustic guitars? Love your videos man, keep it up!
I wanted the yamaha f310 for my acoustic playing cause it is cheap and affordable but the store owner recommended the cort ad810 instead and i gotta say i am having a blast for two months straight now. Anyone who is broke like me can go for the cort ad810. It is awesome.
@@bikashth8539 overall it's good yeah i have been practicing it's sounds food that's what it matters ❤️. How you holding up there ? With your learning ? Are you beginner ? Or intermediate ?
Although the bridges on these are a great design with the step down ensuring good break angle. They have a buzz making flaw. The string break angle from the saddle to the pin entry point is interrupted by the step down itself. Particulary on the bottom and high E because of the way it curves. . It you look at them sideways you can see two break angles or just touching depending on the original set up of the saddle. Lowering the saddle makes it worse. I solved this problem on my A8 by sanding little rounded slots so the break angle is clear from top of the saddle to the entry of the pin slot. I sanded them evenly on all six strings so it looks like they were meant to be there,,, Of which they were meant to be there! Great guitar though.
Hi Dave I’m a big fan of your videos and have signed up on your course too. Just bought one of these Corts. Thanks for the review. Congratulations on your marriage. Joy 🤩
Hey Dave! Have you ever heard of a guitar brand named Kempa? Kempa also makes great guitars and I sincerely hope that you'll test one Kempa Guitar some day!
@@GuitarZero2Hero have been for the last 18 months... The OC is perfect for me. It is a bit shallower, which is great as I have a shoulder issue. Thank you for continuing to put up quality tutorials as well!
Well since it is one of your top 3 favorite acoustic guitars in your collection and the most affordable I just bought one on Reverb. I am one of your students and have been playing just shy of 3 years this is my 6th acoustic in my collection. My 1st Grand Auditorium and my 1st cutaway. I guess I caught GAS, O well it is better than catching Covid 19 at least I won't die or have to go in the hospital.
Tell me why I didn’t know that pick guards had a plastic film on it and I got my Taylor gs mini in January and I was so worried that the edges of the pick guard was looking a bit wanky and then I realized that there was a plastic film 🤦🏻♀️ 🤦🏻♀️
I got a 20 year old cort without a cutaway and without massive Woods. I really want to get Back into playing After 15 years without and by the time I mastered some cool Songs I intend to buy this Guitar. It has all the Features I want without being as expansive as a Taylor or a Martin which might still be better, but with my amount of time playing I dont need a 2000+ € Guitar. So the cort it will be.
Dave, I wanna thank you. I have to wait to buy an guitar for now and because of that every morning I listen to your acoustic covers and they make me happier for the day. (Btw, can you make Most Girls guitar tutorial for Haiz fans out there?)
Hey brother you must try the Clifton Guitar From the Philippines the sound of the guitar is super solid I hope you make a video for Clifton guitar unboxing❤️
Hi Dave I loved the video and really enjoy the channel. Looks a great guitar. But I do have a question which I don't think you addressed, which is: Did you change the strings on the guitar from when you unboxed? What were the strings on it when it was new? What strings did you put on it, if you did change them? Cheers
Very close! Orangewoods came with a better setup. But either had really great warm tone. The Cort maybe a littler earthier and well rounded. But the orangewoods sound phenomenal too.
Hello there. on the video description you say this is a guitar priced incredibly well and then you mention that this is a great guitar on the price point but you actually never mention the price.. What is the price point of this guitar?
I have bought a Gold series D8 and I absolutely love it. I saw in the specifications that it has a doublelock neck joint. I was wondering how this works. Is the dovetail glued in or not? Is it just screwed in by one screw or more screws?
Hi, this Cort A6 is almost the same price at the Sage Live from Orangewood, and they both have the same wood combination. In your opinion, which one sounds better or which one would you get if it was your money? Thanks.
Thanks, ooo that’s a really tough one. I think the Sage wins out by the tiniest margin in sound. It just had a better setup out of the box. In terms of looks the Cort probably wins. It’s. 50/50 decision for me!
No problems, it’s a great sounding guitar which is the main thing. If the setup/action height isn’t to your liking you can always get that adjusted later on.
hey dave i've been playing a classic guitar for 3 years now and i want to change to a cort ap 550m Op parlor all mahogany guitar do you think is a good option?
I have one now for two years and I like it very much. But I need new original strings, D'Addario EXP16, but unfortunately, they are obsolete. I tried EJ16 strings, but the original sounds and feels much better. Any suggestions for new strings ? I play only finger style, no plectrum
