Great information. I will check that line out. Want to also say I’ve sent many, many people from 13 to 65 year olds to your site to learn to cast flyrods. Over a year ago your videos (5 basic rules/and others) got me on the right trajectory to learn. I had my 1st in person instruction last month and he said I had perfect form but slow down a touch on backcast..he couldn’t believe I’d never had a instructor show me, I told him you were my instructor. You also told me to use oval/Belgian cast for weighted flies, again it was on the money. I’ve caught many fish this last year. Thank you so much for sharing all your information. Sorry msg so long. Great fishing to you Capt. Myers. God Bless
The Rio Outbound Short seems quite similar to the Cortland Flip line and is one of the only ways that I, as a total beginer, have been able to cast a weighted fly more than 50 feet.
The lightest they make this line is a 5wt. i would usually use a 3 or 4wt rod for bluegill. If you are using a 5 for fish that size, I don't think you would need such an aggressive tapered line.
You could certainly use it in freshwater but probably would not work as well in coldwater situations. I would suspect it has more of a tropical core and coating.
