@@SealedBeamRallyTeam Nah, it's a long-term problem that started back around '92. Spoiler alert, unless you have your own private stock, you won't be finding one either. :) The one that I got from eBay (correction, Amazon) fit perfectly and lasted 100 miles. The history behind it is that around '92 a large batch of defective pumps made their way out into the world and are still out there. The solution for me (and most) is to go electric. Going electric has the added advantage of not pumping gas into the engine block, which has been known to happen. I've got the parts coming in and until March to get it done. :) The Cal reference comes from this being a long-problem that has escaped a solution being found for it. :)
I dealt with a Covair supplier called the Source who guaranteed there pumps for life ! & I have never had a failure with them but unfortunately he is no longer around ! I always liked to spread my parts orders around rather than depend on one vendor for all my parts needs ! There is still OPG , Calif. Corvair Parts . & some other small vendors who supply parts some of those get there own parts thru Clark's ! But IMHO Clark's makes the best reproduced interiors 2nd to none ! I always felt competition for any type of business is the best thing for the consumer ! Clark's is not end be all for Corvair parts ! & I've been into Corvairs for over 36 years ! I just like to comparison shop , & it helps keep the hobby healthy .
@@ACF6180T I got two of the "new & improved" pumps from Corvair Ranch, and so far, so good. But something is going clunk in the engine so I'll be opening it up before long to see what is the matter.
