Rick the chemistry between you and Chuck is very evident. As I am reading the comments here, I can see that your viewers are picking up on it also. Every plastic has its own thermal expansion properties and heat range prior to breakdown or distortion. Using an oversize hole with a silicone or rubber bushing to secure the engine cover will allow for expansion without visual fissures occurring near the mounting holes. The material specs of the plastics available on the market are available from each mfg allowing the end users to plan and buy accordingly. Remember every mfg has a reputation to protect so practicing due diligence in R&D pays off. Welcome back Father Chuck!

@Chuck - Glad your feeling better, just a check engine light. Reset it this Thanksgiving and you'll be firing on all 8 cylinders again. Scott called me a few days after I got home and asked if I saw your PDR message - had to remind him it was a 16 hour drive and it over wrote - lol. Appreciate your efforts just the same. You mentioned the parts problem where I bought my ZO 6. There was one that was by the shop with one wheel off. It was carbon fiber wheel that had cracked the car. The car was sitting there three weeks, and they don't know when they can get a wheel So there's definitely a problem with parts.

Unfortunately the only way to get the red intake on HTC Z06 is to also order the HTC engine appearance package.

HTC owners should keep in mind, the OEM engine bay cover is sealed for heat AND dirt affecting the roof the car. The headliner of your car top sits over the engine bay. You don't want holes letting dirt come up from the engine area.

Just keep the rubber seals from original cover on clear one and no issues

Yea newer ones not like looking out a submarine window! Do you have final production numbers. I hope you use my 23 Z06 White Pearl as to “rairity” ceramic brakes, Carbon flash roof nacelles etc. I’d appreciate it Rick. Heard from my Chevy rewards now it’s 6 months AND 45 days until u get points! Sort of different than in the beginning as I got some things I want to get!

I’m truly anxious that maybe to help others to figure out where they stand in terms of rare or a unicorn, interesting content could be had using my Z06 as an example. I believe I read ceramic brakes “rare” especially in context of general Z06 numbers and especially 70th anniversary. Regardless of being a production vehicle the aspects, color, convertible, roof and nacelles and other features in my opinion can be quantified but it takes a pro, an expert such as yourself to make the conclusions that are in my view applicable. I would so much appreciate using my vehicle as an example to others in evaluating the various factors. Thanks for all you do Rick. Do need your help in getting All Seasons that appear out now, the 2024 ERay. Tire rack is backordered but would think I could get from your dealership. Thanks again and our thoughts with Chuck but he’s tough! Best StephenR

I have an incredibly hard time believing that the clear engine cover will not melt or deteriorate in some fashion. Where *exactly* did they perform their temperature testing? In _Iowa?!_ The average temp of an engine bay during the Arizona Summer is approximately 220°F+. I have personally observed numerous adhesives fail in our oppressive heat. Which is another reason why I do not endorse these aftermarket parts that rely on glue or tape. If it is not bolted, welded, riveted or manufactured in-place via interlocking, then it is *_not_* permanent. For the cost of some of these cosmetic items, this is entirely unacceptable. I wonder, when (not _if)_ but _when_ these products fail, what is my recourse? Will they honor a replacement or refund for this failure? Genuinely curious. Stay classy my friend.

My 2024 now reported in Michigan. GM is calling it an “Update”. What is an update? There are over 100 cars shipped to Michigan. GM just tell us what is going on.

This is the first time I disagree with you Rick. The people that spend their hard earned dollars on a vehicle that is now getting on the expensive side should get it just the way they want it and near perfect. To hear you say “except it, drive it, and just enjoy it”. Frankly is unacceptable. I understand that there are constraints and other issues. However, if the vehicle you have ordered isn’t flaw free. I feel you have the right as a consumer to say so. When I ordered my 2019 grand sport I was so excited. When it came to the dealership and the salesman “you’re baby is here, come look at it”. I noticed that not only was it missing all the areo but it had a few minor, little , tiny scratches. I told him to fix it. He didn’t say just drive it and enjoy… I was quite surprised to hear you say something like that to someone who is spending a great amount of money on a vehicle that you are promoting and selling. I do very much enjoy watching your vlogs and am looking forward to your new ones.

TECH Tuesday without Chuck, there would be no tech Tuesday. It would be called techless Tuesday. And finally, I got my 2024 3LZ ZO 6. and I have a big question. You have to change the oil after 500 miles. This is what I've been told With out Rick there would be Corvette information ahead of time. In every dealer i have dealt with, i always mention Rick Conti and 97% know who he is

Thanks for your support, Chuck and I do appreciate it ! NO do not and you need NOT to change oil at first 500 miles....read maintenance schedule on your owners manual if your dealer will not assist...at least oil change once a year, full service regardless miles DCT filer, top off and oil change at 2 years or 7500 miles
