@@rollinfordayz4964 same. They handle better than you'd expect from a 4500+ lbs car but they are still absolutely massive and heavy cars that arent going to handle like a small 3000 pound car built for the track.

@@raptormaverick4774 I absolutely love the demon, but honestly, even though the demon does have the capability to smoke an aventador, you'd probably never see the chance to do it. Because unless you happened to race the lambo on a strip with trackbite, you'd most likely lose. Besides, no sane person would apply the demon crate on a normal cruising day. I'd say you'd have higher chances to meet a lambo on a common road compared to the strip.
took Fiat buying Chrysler which owned Dodge and making Hellcat to get Ford and Chevrolet back to making proper cars, they couldn't compete with it on drag strip so they made muscle cars good on track instead which is mindblowing when you think about it, it's normal for a Corvette or a Viper to be fast on track, but Mustang and Camaro? like wtf is happening, new Viper obviously gonna be faster on track, but 7:16 on Nurburgring is rly fast, last get Corvette ZR1 had 7.19 laptime, i mean Viper ACR can do it in 7:01 but no1 is going to drive around in ACR, while ZR1 is still pretty good car to cruise on highway with

Demon hits 0-60 in 2.3 seconds with 100 octane fuel, aftermarket larger drag radials, launch control mode, A/C off, proper weather conditions, 10% fuel remaining, a 135lb driver, world peace, pigs flying and by signing the three page FCA paperwork acknowledging that they take no responsibility when you wreck.
Don't forget you have to remove the seats, including the driver seat, and use a milk crate. As well as be on Trans Brake. The Non-ZTK Track Package 8-Speed Automatic ZR1 running Slicks and skinnies, removed passenger seat, A/C Off, 100 Octane and tune, have a Trans Brake installed, and everything else the Demon needs to achieve tho times, I bet the ZR1 wins. I have seen 2 videos so far of them racing, and the Demon was in Street Prep with 91 octane, the ZR1 wins both times. I have yet to see a Non Chrysler Driver get the Demon anywhere close to the times listed by Dodge. I have yet to see a demon run in the 9's and run a sub 2.8 0-60 mph. There may be a video out, but I havn't seen it. I am not talking about a Closed Course using a Driver hired by Dodge with a perfectly prep'd track and so on, just your standard driver.
Dodge's Viper ACR and a Mustang GT350R would have really brought the point home, especially compared to a GTR or Lambo. Not sure the Demon is a good example of a track car since it's actually made for the exact opposite
I meant it in the sense that those cars really show how American cars can corner because they're extremely fast track cars which can match or beat supercars costing many times their price. I think it would have also helped if this video had lap times and at least one supercar for reference.

Now I know why the Corvette is going mid engine: the Camaro is now so good its getting harder to justify the price gap between the two. I just hope GM can pull it off with the the C8.
chevy came out and said theres nothing more they can do to improve the C7. they cant top the ZL1 either, so thats why its still the same in 2020. but alot of people think the ZL1 is better than the c7 z06.
Just sold my 2010 Nissan GTR for a ZL1 1LE, loved the GTR, and it was absolutely amazing but I have to be honest, the ZL1 1LE keeps a smile on my face a bit longer and I only have 20 miles on it so far, extremely happy!

The three cars are American muscle cars, so they are being compared because the power and price of the demon is around the same ... also, it makes it more interesting when they have a non-GM car in the review. -- They should have run track times and 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile times on all three cars. O well, I guess they can do that next year when the Mustang GT500 comes out.
drx1 xym corvette isnt a muscle car, its a race car designed for racing. Dodge is only a drag car meant for drag racing. Thats why dodge has faster acceleration but corvette has a higher top speed and turns better than dodge.

I bought a SS Camaro in 2017. Everyone asked me if it was my midlife crisis car.(I was 48 when I bought it). I said "well hell yeah it is. Put my kid through college, paid off her car, paid for her wedding...etc...All while my wife and I drove shit. (We just bought her a 19 Traverse for upcoming road trips) We've earned it !
That is a tired line........but not entirely off the mark. The Corvette was once the choice of the younger successful guy who wanted and could afford it. Today it's all about the grey haired guy that is so typically seen at the wheel. The typical owner is a Baby Boomer between the ages of 55 and 70.
Wait...but the Demon doesn't take corners very well. It was literally built with the intent of slaying the quarter mile. The Camaro and the ZR1 on the other hand corner very well and hold their own against supercars on a road coarse.
I know but the ZL1 and the ZR1 are both track cars not drag cars. They perform best on the track whereas the Demon best performs on the drag strip. The Demon would probably beat both the ZL1 and the ZR1 on the drag strip, but the ZR1and the ZL1 would blow the Demon away on the track.

@@bishlap you can easily own a black car and still keep it clean and cool in the hot days. Just get a good quality ceramic coating the day you get it new so that that way, all you have to do is flood the car with water, and watch the dirt just sheet off. And then some good quality ceramic window tint, and the heat will bounce off. Even clear ceramic tint for the windshield works a bunch better than 5% regular tint.
Exactly, no one road races their sport cars...EVER. if you are running your car hard it's light to light and drag strip, maybe some interstate top end stuff. But never road turn after 90° turn.

I’m a CAMARO guy. The ZL1 is an incredible car. With what you can save from the CORVETTE, you can do some add-ons and kill everything on the road. I’d do a twin turbo package in the CAMARO.

In America the old mid life crises.no longer applys to the corvette as it had in the past. As the cars became world class the drivers got younger. Which has eroded ,that perception . Never buy a car based on what others think of you.

Then the cars got better engineered and younger guys just drive in the middle lane and fast lane. Dont see many newer corvettes hugging the gutter any longer. Those. Every time I see someone in a corvette they tend to have gray hair and have their windows all the way down. When I see someone in a 5.0 its some young person with really loud exhaust speeding down every possible lane. When I see a hellcat or srt its usually some heavy set person driving it as if it was a v6 as to not brake any laws. Sorry for judging.
5:10 "designed to smash the track in under 10seconds" except its been almost a year and not a single person has got anywhere close. Fastest stock time, fully prepped, and in super cold temps, is only 10.23. Total disappointment.

Farzana Patel so yeah, in case you didn’t get the memo, the ZL1’s interior is excellent. Truly good for a dedicated sports car. The M3 is a sedan. That isn’t close to being in the ZL1’s performance category. The 911’s interior is completely boring. Nice, but boring and dated. You need to go 911 Turbo to get with the ZL1’s performance. You need to go GT2 to get with the ZR1’s performance.
those aren't splitters, they are canards. They are pure function, just like everything else on the ZL1 1LE, from the hollowed out Bow (flow) Tie, to the massive rear spoiler. This car is a pure, dedicated track machine. No rice. Just balls. And aero.

Honestly, American cars are great and not too many people talk about them. The Europeans always feel like it's not Sophisticated enough. American cars provide the same amount of performance but for a fraction of the price. I bet that the cars featured in this video can kick any European cars ass, no problem! Dear Europeans, plrase try these cars out before passing judgement.
That's because they're really not that sophisticated, especially on the interior, my ZL1's interior is nice and it has everything I want, but my friend's 718 Cayman has a much nicer interior, especially on the fixtures, they're not hard like on my ZL1, which is nice, but kinda nitpicky, since when are you actually going to touch the fixtures? Never, unless you are putting you're attention to them, which on daily driving you don't really do; I forgot that my ZL1 had a hard dasboard until I stepped in on the 718 Cayman.
you know, I think it's funny that you say that. If you are talking about price to performance, the American cars kill the euro cars. When people compare Euro cars to American, they compare supercars to them. $250k plus cars. Of course the AMG GT is going to perform better than a factory built Hellcat around the track. But that's going to cost you an extra $100,00.
