So I finally tried Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet Fortemons or Gen 9 Fortemons. Fortemons is the OM of the Month on Pokemon Showdown (Smogon's Pokemon Battle Simulator) which lets you use moves as a pokemons item. In this video, I used a Body Press itemed Corviknight with Iron Defense. The one problem with Body Press was its low base power and Corviknight didnt have STAB (same type attack boost) on it. Brave Bird has high Base power but corviknight has low attack stat but when we put Body Press as an item on corvknight all attacks now use the defense stat of corviknight which is very high. I also used a Merciless Toxapex with Hex as an item. Merciless always makes the pokemon crit if the opponent is poisoned and Hex doubles the moves base power when the opponent is statused. When we pair this strat with high base power moves like Hydro Pump and Ice Beam and the now 130 base power (without hex boost) venoshock, toxapex does a lot of damage despite its now attacking stats. To poison the opponent on switch in, toxic spikes from glimmora and the new form of tentacruel introduced in gen 9, toedscruel is very valuable. Gholdengo with its ability Good as Gold blocks Defog and its Steel/Ghost typing prevents rapid spin and mortal spin which would have removed the hazards so Gholdengo is also a very good partner. The only way to remove these hazards are by using Tidy Up with Maushold, Court Change with Cinderace, item Rapid Spin with Quaquaval or Iron Treads.
