I wonder how it feels to be one of it not the most HOTTEST keyboard player on earth??? He is ONLY getting better which is what's crazy. He NEVER plays the same thing twice. His style can't be duplicated because it has no end. Glad to be alive to hear it.
That's the thing I don't think people can pick out his style like that if they were to hear it without seeing him because he has respect for all of the generas of music as well as the instrument
Try to sing along: I will enter his gates with Thanksgiving in my heart I will enter his courts with praise I will say this is the day that the Lord has made I will rejoice for he has made me glad He has made me glad He has made me glad I will rejoice for he has Made me glad (2x)
I’ve been following Cory for years and love to see what he’s done both old and new. He looks pretty young here and this has to be one of my favorites. Between 4:55-5:00 is special. All of it is special, and I love the beat. Grateful!
what separates the normal "church musicians" and the special ones is the fact that the special ones study their history. this boy is going beyond the "church sound" just listen to his voicings. just straight nasty jazz here my goodness.
jryuwah I don’t know man, I’ve seen normal church musicians go to town when they aren’t forced to one music sheet or song. But no one will ever have the same uniqueness that Corey Henry possesses. This mans been playing the Hammond since he was 3 lmao
Yes the Man Is A Beast I have been in the church fora longgg time Never in my day have I heard anyone play like this and I come from a family full of musicians 😊
OMG!!!! Corey's a beast! for those who didn't like this video are more likely not musically inclined so it wasn't amusing to them it's cool they just need to go to a video they like before clicking the thumb down button.. That's like me watching a chess match and saying it's stupid when I have no interest in chess.. If you don't like you stumbled over the wrong video keep searching .. Amen
Rumble, Young Man, Rumble. Thank God for you!!What a mighty long way syncopation has come since Prof. Charles Taylor began his pathfinding mission in the late 1950s and early '60s. Although complex rhythms are the core of the musical/spiritual identity of peoples of African descent, yes?
African descent? people identify themselves with pride because:) this music was born in America ,gospel, blues, jazz, .african people did not invented these harmonies, nor the structure, europen classical composers did so far, don't get confused my friend just because you're fellow is a genius ,yes, He made me glad!
Once you understand the word "descent," my Friend you will appreciate what I have to say. How much do you know about the history of Black people in America? Once you read about the history, you can understand the formation of the craft. to say "America" is word empty of meaning if you cannot place it in historical context. Even the present moment has a context, ne c'est pas?
tamas szasz Actually, while the concept of harmony came directly from the Eurological school of thought, the complex tensions and harmonies being used here were never utilised until the beginning of the 20th century. "European classical composers" were NOT the first to use such harmonies.
What Flavor my my my You can tell he's been playing from an early age and he's still young that is scary I saw the clip when he was 4 years old you could tell then how good he was going to be . East coast!!!!!
To the 5 who disliked this.......perhaps you just don't understand what you heard. This is the work of a young master. If you don't like the style, at least appreciate the talent. Beautiful work young fella! You are following the greats that came before you.
GospelJazz blowing like a breeze from the genius of the Almighty's bosom to the ears of man....by way of brother Cory Henry. What a blessed talent. Always playing to His glory.
All I can say is Sir, you've got it. God let you get in line numerous times. I am a gospel studies professor at a university in Washington, DC and need to know what it would take to have you come do an organ lecture for my students?

Go ahead Cory! I remember you backing Pastor Dewey Smith at Greater Traveler's Rest! You were dynamic. God has definitely given you a gift. Perfect it in Him! Love the post. Ignore the negativity son.
I just stumbled across this and "WOW'!!!!!!!!!! I mean I love the hammond sooooooooooooooo much and I cannot merge consonants and vowels to form words to describe this.
Put a Jazz Kaleidoscope of a Bossa Nova (What the Euro-Brazilians harvested from Africans; they admit it) flavor on a straight-forward Contemporary Christian classic. And that's for starters...what a young master of improvisation. He's exploring not grandstanding. Using all that the Creator has blessed us with to turn around and bless us more. More precious than Gold, Platinum, Diamonds and Pearls :-) Thank you and your Fam CH!!!
