Brits listen and watch _during_ each song. Hence, everyone in the audience can hear and fully appreciate performers. It's called *_RESPECT._* Brits aren't so self-centred, or unaware, to assume their noise is more important than the music and the artists. Brits really dislike Americans audiences for drowning out performances, making it hard to hear and enjoy for everyone. That is *_disrespecting_* the performers their performances, and everyone else in the audience. American audiences seem completely unaware that live performances sound better for everyone when they just shut up until the end of the song. It's typically only a few minutes of self-control, and the performance is better for everyone. Maybe Americans are so 'brainwashed' by TV they don't even realise everyone else can hear them, or that others might prefer to hear the performance? What option has an audience member got when people around them are drowning out the performance? Maybe Americans have no self control, like young children? No matter the reason, it appears selfish, thoughtless, and *_disrespectful_* of the performers and everyone else in the audience. Also, Brits pay attention enough to usually recognise when performers have enough self-confidence and self-awareness that they don't need reassurance *_during_* a song. Brits respond slightly differently when performers do need reassurance. For example children might be nervous or lack confidence. Even then, Brit audiences try to help a child know their performance is more important than the random noise of anyone in the audience. Yes, children get *_respect_* too. It might be odd at first for performers, accustomed to having their talent and hard work screamed over. However, it seems they quickly get used to it. A very brief search found Cory Wong tours back in 2018, and several since. Brits feel their way is respectful. Judging from a few post-performance interviews I've seen (eg at Glastonbury Festival) American artists notice the first time. Some artists interpret it as Brit 'reserve' at first. However, they seem to appreciate and enjoy the respect for their art and performance, and return for more. If they are any good, they do not want for 'love' from Brit audiences. The difference is Brit audiences go 'nuts' _after_ songs. Judging from live and recorded events, European countries' audiences are similar to Brit audiences. I hope this explains the difference between audience reactions. It might take some thought to appreciate there are several ways to react to live performers. Best Wishes. ☮

And don't forget, @electricmonk9808 : This is not hard rock or heavy metal with mosh pits - this is widely regarded as some kind of jazz/funk/soul fusion here in Europe. But of course you're allowed to sing the bass part of "Dean Town" here too. 😉🎸
