Teri, u were right your kiss pour did come out exactly as cosmic wave( this one). I loved your idea of putting a cardboard stick on top of soap before wrapping it with cling wrap. Once i just started wrapping it and it touches the surface of the soap and spoiled the whole design 🤦🤦 now i know how to correctly do it. I m learning so many techniques from your videos. Beautiful as always Teri 😍😍 thanks for sharing, i learned 3 new things today 😁😁 first: i also pronounce the word Kaolin wrong, second: i always thought that sugar thicken up the soap faster 🌸🌸 and last: that was a great tip with the sprout of the funnel 💕💕
@TreeMarieSoapworks
@TreeMarieSoapworks 5 лет назад
Some people are saying that I pronounced it right in the first place. So glad you are learning Angelique! My microbiologist friend said that the sugar "shouldn't work," but it does. I have used it with FO's that accelerate and when I forgot to use it; I could definitely tell the difference.

Terri, I am loving all your beautiful videos! You are inspiring me to try more color and motion in my soaps. Thank you so much for sharing and for such clear detail. I have bought several tools I never knew I needed and can’t wait to start again. It appears you are working on a marble or granite surface. I have not made soap in my new house yet so I am wondering if I can work directly on the granite counter without damaging the surface. In my old house I thought I needed to cover everything (laminate counters) with plastic table cloths while working with lye.
@TreeMarieSoapworks
@TreeMarieSoapworks 4 года назад
Best wishes on getting started with more advanced soap making, Catherine! My surface is a faux marble, so I don't know how it would be on that surface, but mine wipes away nicely.

Tree Marie Soapworks , Thank you. Mine is granite so not sure how it compares with faux marble. It is real stone. It seems as if it would be okay, but I see so much about stains so I was hesitant. Can’t wait to try some swirls!

Hello there i’m newbie in this soapmaker things..i wanna ask u something..so far until now i was thinking that when we put the batter to the mold it has to high trace,sometimes i faced trouble with this especially when i use fragrance oil,the soap begin over trace, so when i see your vid i realize that it doesnt matter to put the batter in the mold with condition light/medium trace is it right?is it any impact with the soaps if i finish my soap just in the light trace?bcause i never try that before.. Thank u before..i love your vid❤️
@TreeMarieSoapworks
@TreeMarieSoapworks 5 лет назад
If your trace is too thin it can cause soda ash through out your soap. It doesn't have to be heavy trace. I only use a thicker trace when I am using one color and when I want to make a textured top. Mostly I just get my batter to an emulsion or light trace, then I split it apart and color it, and then add fragrance. An emulsion is when your oils are no longer floating on the top. They stay mixed and don't separate. If you are going to do any designing, you will need your trace to be thinner. Just make sure it's not watery thin.
