A surreal journey through the interconnections between all things. Directed and Animated by Duncan Hatch Music by Tom Ippolito Sound Design by Noah Kowalski Contact: DuncanHatch1@gmail.com
This feels like an animation that you'd see on Adult Swim at 3am. The acid-trip style and overall vibe is really reminiscent of a lot of different artists they've featured. Absolutely can't wait to see what you put out in the future.

Why is it a rare gift exactly…? Doesnt make you special at all, or early for anything important. Its not like you are in queue for anything important or in line awaiting special treatment. Why, exactly do you think that it is? Or did you just write your idea out blindly without thinking? Your hyperbole exaggerates a lie. So why not just say in plain terms that you enjoyed the video? Why the extra unnecessary nonsense about BEING EARLY and RARE GIFTS. This feeds into terrible social media nonsense. Speak HONESTLY.
Duncan took the whole "create a universe" thing seriously. Reminiscent of a DMT breakthrough. Fantastic art, probably one of the best pieces ive seen in years.
@@steadyhum720 I’d say at the end of the day that depends on the intended goals of your creation! But if you create to create you’ve already won the game!
@@steadyhum720 anything can become meaningless if you don't have the physical or financial support to continue. A career from this would entail being able to dedicate himself fully to pursuing his passion and being able to generate income from it. It is substantially more draining to put weeks or months into a project "for fun" while having a completely separate full-time career required to be able to live.
Psychedelics definitely have potential to deal with health issues like anxiety and depression, I would like to try them but it's just so hard to source out here.
Absolutely amazing! The smooth movements, the style, how everything transitions together, the muted yet saturated colors…beautiful. And so much imagery and symbolism to unpack! Truly felt like a good trip.
Fantastic work, an utterly enjoyable ride from start to finish. Reminds me a bit of Felix Colgrave, which should be taken as high praise, and I think I detect a hint of perhaps some Moebius inspiration in the creatures, so I'm a big fan of the overall aesthetic. The music and sound design were excellent throughout as well. Stoked to be your only 16th sub, as I reckon if you can keep putting stuff like this out, you'll have a heck of a lot more subscribers soon enough!
@@duncanhatch1 I could replay this all day. It's good to see some fellow enjoyers of this style, with yours now among them no less! It's no secret you've got a real knack for this kind of storytelling, and I'm happy to grab a seat. 𝒮𝓊𝒷𝓈𝒸𝓇𝒾𝒷𝑒𝒹
The broad and expansive story telling/world building in this one video alone is something major Hollywood studios need to study on. Plus all the animation details is something to marvel at. Definitely something I needed that randomly came up in my recommendation cuz lately my recommended have been getting dry so I’m glad I was introduced to this. Love the art style and can’t wait to see more work from u.🙌🏾✨🔥🔥
This was so amazing it made me cry, there are few positive things you take away from being on your phone and this is one of those positive things. Thank you ❤
That was Fucking brilliant - the themes were so seamlessly woven together. one image and scenario flowed so well into the next that you scarcely realised the missing link between all of them was present right at the beginning. And all that without using any words? Bravo my friend. A stunning piece of work, not just visually, but poetically and narratively too.
that ending made me laugh out loud. it got so beautiful for a second and then you masterfully bring up elements that were set up what seems like ages ago 10/10 cartoon. people like you make me so thankful to be alive. what an amazing feeling to be able to look at something so creative and personal and feel it resonate with me
This is absolutely beautiful. The animation style is spot on, the artwork and scene designs were amazing and very appealing, the music and sound production was downright perfect, the story was very enjoyable as it went along and your sense of humour and your use of comedy was top tier. You should be very proud of yourselves. You have produced something truly incredible. You guys really have some talent here. I hope that we all get to see some more content from you in the near future.
You definitely know how well you, Tom and Noah have done with this piece of art. You’ve put lots of time into this. I really like your style of animation. It seems like you have a distinct way of making things move that’s unique and I really enjoyed that.
Holy goodness gracious .. This is truly fabulous DUNCAN! Really love it, and keep spotting references as I work through it. Fantastic achievement, I love everything about it dude...
For someone who has had the fortune, of not only escaping the rat race six months ago. But, also to have only spent 6 years shackled within it, this piece of marvelous art of yours, brought a massive smile on my face. Thank you dude, and keep up the great work! 👍🏻 😃
By saving 90% of my income during those 6 years, investing in index funds, and working freelance on UpWork, selling services online, and selling products online on Etsy.
It certainly is. I can work from anywhere, with whomever I want, and whenever I want. I’m healthier, I workout everyday, I read everyday, and get to travel more. Not having to commute by driving 90 minutes everyday, is in of itself a relieve like no other. Not to mention no longer being stuck in a 9-5 setting.
This video just restored my faith that you can still discover amazing new work on the internet. Literally clicked thinking, oh something original! And boy was it worth it. Thank you for this!
This is phenomenal! I really love the story that you created. In a strange way it's very understandable, a fantastic description of the mystery of reality.
Insane to just stumble into this absolute masterpiece of art first thing after work. The way it speaks on the multiverse is so well put together, that it feels almost like some primal truth, like something humans had always known but have forgotten. Incredibly rare feeling to be able to capture in media. AND the pacing was incredible! Magnificent work!!!!!
I love your transitions between wildly different environments that don't feel jarring or disjointed at all. I also love this mechanical flying bird-harvesting machine that eats the crops it picks. Very cool stuff.
I came across this by absolute chance. Something about the thumbnail art intrigued me enough to give it a chance. I press play not expecting much at all, thinking I’ll be clicking away in no time. With each second that passed, I was pulled deeper and deeper into this truly imaginative and at points, creatively inspired madness. The green being with the wispy tentacles and those eyes that would almost bubble to the surface of its flesh………… A masterpiece!!! Great work to the team that brought this all together. Hopefully the success of this piece will lead to much, much more!!! We can only dream! 🏔🦉🏔
The color theory and technique is very strong in your work, I do see a hit and miss on somethings but symbolism doesn't always speak to everyone in everyway, so I leave it as that. you do great work and your fundamentals are hella strong. Keep it up
wow, it's 5:30 am and i've got plans in the morning, and i just stumble across this? this animation is beautiful, you seriously outdid yourself here. this animation was such a journey and just took you on what felt like hours of fun adventures through the span of 7~ minutes. thank you for sharing your creation, im sure others will love your work just like i. :)
These animations are kick ass dude! Like someone else said, definitely looks Felix Colgrave inspired. The previous one reminded me a bit of Love & Theft too. Keep it up man, it looks like you’re finding the kind of crowd that can really groove on this kind of stuff (me included)
I really loved this :) especially the way Zeus and Gaia are on tinder or whatever dating app before such a fun way to transition into the crash. Really profound and hard to verbalize everything I got out of it
micro dosed mushrooms after fighting depression for over 4years, being incapable of work for the last 2years. In shot summary I became depression free within a couple of months and still I'm 6months later it saved me.
@@StephenOscar-jj9qsI really get happy anytime I see people talking about dr jeffshrooom he is the best All pure psychedelic and shrooms I get from him❤
And just when the farmer appeared and I was wondering what happened to all the previous characters we saw they just showed up, and I got my closure. Thank you xD. I loved every second of it!
Incredible work, I'm quite sure your channel will pop off soon. Let me know if you have any interest in being interviewed for a project I'm working on, basically asking artists how they feel about AI as it's emerging. Keep up the great work!
What the fuck how the fuck does this not have more fucking views are you fucking kidding me this is ridiculous. This has to be one of the most entertaining, mind melting, universe altering, peace of moving pictures. I can’t believe that this doesn’t have more recognition in the greater animation community. Now, I am aware that I am over praising this piece of animation (mostly because I am a sucker for psychedelic imagery and honestly I would’ve preferred just a piece of animation that is nothing but surrealist, abstract patterns) but the shit still is pretty good. I love the use of humor and the seemingly unconnected series of events. And the twist at the end wear it combines all the parts together. The humor as a whole is pretty quality but personally I’m not the largest fan of the adult swim ask mentality of surrealist/absurdist humor. Except I didn’t necessarily mind it in this piece. Overall fantastic work and I am highly disappointed that this does not have more attention.
I really loved this animation and was so surprised to see how little views it had! I really hope the algorithm picks this up soon. I definitely see some influence from Felix Colgrave but you really turn it into something unique and the sound design and music is impeccable. Overall I only have praise for this. How long did it take you to make this?
I'm unbelievably grateful to say since you made this comment the video has picked up almost 100k more views! Felix does amazing work, he was a big inspiration for me along with other talented animators like Anthony Schepperd and lilfuchs. The sound and music was done by 2 of my very good friends. Their work really brought the film to an entirely different level. I worked on this project on and off over the course of 3ish years. It means so much that folks like you have watched it and resonated with it. Thanks for watching!
an absolutely fantastic piece of art, thank you very much! You made my day in a way. If I was to explain whats this video about, I would say it teaches one not to focus on job or responsibilities too much, but to try to see the big picture, to imagine the world all over again, to invent, to actually think outside the box, and to relax.
Beautiful piece of art, truly unappreciated. You brought an imaginative experience that was refreshing with this animation. I really did quite enjoy this work, and will share it; keep creating beautiful works my friend.
