The debut album of a group from Japan, originally formed by keyboardist Tsutomu Izumi in 1968 under the name "The Silencer". They changed their name in 1973 before releasing this album. The group disbanded after releasing their fourth album in 1977. An Old Castle Of Transylvania is a classic record from Japan's prog pioneers. Mystical psychedelia with electric violin, organs and synthesizers.The main attraction of the disc is the title track - a four-part suite of mystical content, which occupied the entire second side of the disc on the original release. Stylistically, this is the most complex and diverse composition of the album, evoking associations with the late King Crimson, early Uriah Heep, and some Italian bands.

コスモス・ファクトリーは日本では数少ないプログレ系バンドの1つでした。私が初めて見たLIVEもコスモス・ファクトリーでした。僅か中学1年生で見た本物のLIVE体験は今も素晴らしい財産だと思っています。その後も何度か彼等のLIVEに行きましたが４枚の傑作アルバムを残して解散してしまいました。 1,トランシルヴァニアの古城 2,謎のコスモス号 3,Black Hole 4,Metal Reflection Guitaristの水谷ひさしは「命のルーレット」と言うソロ・アルバムも出しました。 彼とKeyboardの泉つとむは兄弟だそうです。またHumble pie Moody Bluesの来日公演では前座に抜擢される程の実力派バンドでした。💪🎸日本には他にも四人囃子、ファーイースト・ファミリー・バンド、Chronicle、フライド・エッグ等、優秀なプログレ系バンドがあるので是非、聴いて見て🎶

I happen to be familiar with many hard rock/psych bands from the Land of the Rising Sun 🇯🇵 Not Yoko Ono stuff! (yikes) I don't have this, but I've heard it before. I remember the band because of their name. Creedence Clearwater Revival"s fifth album is titled Cosmo"s Factory released 1970. It's spelled with apostrophe "s" The Japanese band spells Cosmos without the apostrophe. I always wondered if they were inspired by CCR, not that this prog rock album sounds anything like the music of CCR. They sound something like a cross between Procol Harum and Pink Floyd.
