@@LHaritonov Leon long time no see the tragic death of all of the performers 18 came from Ukraine that was lost in the Black Sea one came from Zhitomyr it was a meeting in London in 2005 in Trafalgar square let all performers rest in peace.

My Grandfather and Grandmother came to America from Odessa. When I was a boy, he took me to see the Moiseyev Dance Company on their first tour of the states. It marked me forever with pride in my heritage. I destroyed the livingroom furniture trying to copy what I saw on the stage. To this day, this kind of performance is thrilling. I could watch it for hours.

We might have crossed paths, although I am older than you. I went to see the Moiseyev Folk Dancers on opening night at the Shrine Auditorium. Not only was it a remarkable performance, it was something entirely new in the world of dance at that time, particularly for male dancers. Hungarian refugees were out demonstrating against the Soviet intervention in their country's affairs. I believe the folk dancers were the first Russian troupe to tour the West (U.S.) after WWII.

I traveled to Russia in 2017 and visited Moscow and a bunch of historical villages and towns on the way to the last stop, St Petersburg. After 2 weeks of travel, I was very tired, but a fellow traveler offered me her ticket to this show for FREE. Even though I just wanted to sleep, I couldn't pass up the chance to see this live. Needless to say, it was the highlight of my trip. I paid the extra 600 rubles (like $10) to be allowed to film the show on my phone and take pictures. I'm so glad I did. These dancers are world class athletes and are amazing. The show was phenomenal.

just wow. this is the first time I saw the Alexandrovs, and I am awestruck! these people are literally FLYING when they start to dance. and the music! I am a musician myself, I play saxophone in an orchestra, but the speed of this music is unbelieveable! I love these guys.

I was lucky enough to be on a cruise ship . in the 70 s .. Russian. it was the captain . birthday . and a few of the Crew . put on a show . the physical . agility . and stamina . of the dancing . is just like this . best seen live ... 🏃🤸🚶🏃🤸

Какая же до жути сложная постановка. Браво. Помню как-то в детстве с отцом и дедом ездили в Запорожье (Хотели на автобусе, туром, но рейс отменили. И мы, расстроившись, сели на машину и из Донецка своим ходом поехали в Запорожье). В общем, были в запорожской сечи, на Хортице. Помню там тоже были казачьи танцы и трюки с саблями поразительной сложности

Шо- шо? Преклонитесь перед книгой, хотя бы Википедией , и прочтите, что слово козак , впервые упомянуто в русском языке в 1395 году и обозначало- батрак, работник. Наберите в Гугле .... казаки на службе .... 5- ть строчек Вермахта и только 7- я царя. Есть чем гордиться)))

А финишная работа с шашками (как мне показалось название вид холодного оружия) - так это вообще, в современных реалиях - редкость. Спасибо автор. Групповой (общий) схлест - так это вообще ни разу не видел только слышал. БлагоДАРЮ.

On a river trip from Moscow to St. Petersburg. There was a small group to dance this. After they finished they had all the men passengers try. We tried the squat dance. It stopped after we had to be held up by the Russian dancers. All fun, Vodka all around. Great trip.

This dance was started by people who could mount a horse in a single bound. I think the eastern tribes that became the cossacks. Perhaps one of the khans made a pact with the devil haha.

@@ladyv9208 Don't forget boys, that there are 2 types of cossacks: Zaporizhian and Don Cossacks. Zaporizhian are in Ukraine and Don are in Russia. For example my great-grandfather was Ukrainian (from Poltava) and was Zaporizhian Cossack, and he had in the Russian Empire passport a stamp "Cossack". But also in Russia there are Don Cossacks, which were repanded even to Siberia (but originally they all are from Kuban), those Cossacks were serving a long time to White Army.
