Wow, prices are not that different in Toronto. What a pleasant surprise. I thought it would be that of Nunavut ($30+/lb. for grapes?)

Yes, we have similar prices here in California, only a couple of things in Yukon were more expensive, I was surprised that some were cheaper too. They jacked up the prices because they can, it’s like a free for all now, everyone got on the bandwagon. Green screen worked out perfectly, you’re so smart!

Hi ya Stacie, Gas about 6 or 7 cents higher than Ottawa. The groceries, prices are almost the same. It's crazy how the prices have soared since Christmas. Superstore and that family of stores have always been higher priced. But your paying for the larger selection of products, brands and the extensive prepared foods etc. My vote is for the dumplings.
@CabinDweller
@CabinDweller 2 года назад
It’s true, they’ve jumped so much recently. Superstore is actually the cheapest grocery store in town here. Others are Save On and Independent Grocer, and they’re a bit more. Save On is a lot more actually.

Very interesting Stacie, thanks for taking us along. Your prices aren't much different than here (surprisingly). Your gas is almost 10 cents per litre cheaper thank here on the island! I heard inflation in Canada is at a little above 4% for 2021, I'm wondering where that number comes from cause food is around 20% higher, gas is 10% higher, wood is thru the roof, even though it's come down a bit , it's still 25% or more higher and housing has gone up 50% in 2 years. Glad it's warming up there now for you :)

Remember when gasoline was $1.80 per gal? Wasn't that long ago. Also remember when the pipeline from Canada to the USA was in full swing, being built and refineries were coming to life? That was while President Trump was in office; a time of peace and prosperity. But it seems the people are "useful idiots" like Vladimir Lenin said of the average working class of people, and like Hillary Clinton referred to the American Patriots. And so it is: Lenin was on target.

This video was done a year ago and there has been some considerable price hikes since! Nevertheless, Whitehorse is not as expensive as I thought. One question. Do you guys have the Flashfood app for this superstore? Here in Yorkton Saskatchewan I get ridiculously cheap deals on that app. Thanks again for this video. That was an interesting tour. The lemons are 20 cents more here in the rural high desert of S. Calif. I've never seen octopus sold in a grocery store! Who eats octopus? I've never heard anyone say, oh, I need me some octopus. Our cheaper gas is around $4.30 a gallon but the big-name stations are close to $5.00 a gallon. Sourdough is the best. We have a small local bakery that makes several types of loaves but if I don't get there by 10 am the sourdough is gone (they open at 9am). It's about $4.99 for a loaf. The best sourdough is in San Francisco so if you ever get there you've got to test all the best bakeries.

@@CabinDweller regular loaf unsliced. Sourdough gonna be more for sure,but it’s hot and fresh,kinda a French loaf style. Can’t go wrong. I’ve been buying the frozen bread dough loaves,just thaw and rise,bake. 5 loaves for $6.99 also very good and does wonders for the smell of your house. Enjoy

um your prices are cheaper than ours, i generally spend $350-$400 a week, three adults, two monster dogs and two cats. our bread is $4.30 a loaf. cheese, unnamed block 1 kg $10, as for petrol um $2.80 nzd per litre- i dont use a vehicle anymore, i use an electric mobility scooter so thankfully i dont need to worry about that.

Wowwwwwww, things are pricey there, not grossly expensive but pricey! I couldn’t see how much the ready made sandwiches were it looked like 7 dollars but not sure. If it was 7 that’s expensive! A take out sandwich like that in most places here is $3 or $4 A pack of 4 or 5 chicken breast look over double the price to here. Some of the packs of meat around 10 dollars Canadian looked ok I guess, but I only have a rough idea on Canadian prices, and not sure exactly what the Canadian dollar is to the pound ££ right now. Butttttt many things there look expensive that’s for sure. No wonder lots of people in Alaska and probably there in the Yukon grow some of their own.

amazing I thought it would be cheaper inyour state than in France, but everything is increasing everywhere now. If we reach your price level, I think people will pull out their forks to go talk to the "decision-makers", the old-fashioned way...😅

Prices are rising everywhere on everything. Even gas to heat my home went up 30 percent, so I keep temps around 63 degrees. I hear gasoline has gone up 50 cents a gallon since I last filled my car. I recently had out patient surgery and had to pay over 900 hundred dollars that my insurance didn’t pay and I think I still have to pay anesthesia. Prices rising but my income is the same. Yet I’m not going to complain too much, some are struggling to fed their family. Today my heart hurts for Ukraine with the horrific crimes they suffer from that evil so called man, I can’t even speak his name. I watched the story line with the group, you were last in line but not in the final part. I think the third person (lady) really got off track, it was funny. Oh, are you still stuck in the creek? It has been around 70 degrees here but temperatures drop this weekend. Things are blooming here in north Georgia. Okay, stay warm and safe. See you next video.

It's so true about income not increasing, hard to adjust to that imbalance. Poor Ukraine is right, unreal. I might just be out of the creek, stay tuned haha!

Hi Stace, the green screen is kinda weird, what is it? Do you have a big screen behind you? The price of gas here is $3.79.9 per gal. to fill a 25 lb. propane bottle, $18 and a 100 lb. bottle would be $82. Never had goat cheese so, don't know if I would like it or not, I do like Extra Sharp Chedder Cheese, Jalapeno cheese and Horseradish.

Yah it’s a green screen so you can edit it out and place images or video over top. Our propane is about $1/lb to fill.

My utilities run sbout $200 per month My place is paid for and my ex pays the taxes on the 6 acres l live on. If l lived in Alaska ld be eating cornbread and beans...lol. You and I would get along just fine as I also think sourdough is the most excellent bread in the world. Can a man (or woman) live on bread alone? No but add butter to warm sourdough and I will give it a go. As for which animal based protein to eat my rule is - if it has less than two or more than four observable appendages I do not eat it! Lets have octopus for supper.... NO! How about snake.... NO! How about bugs... DOUBLE NO!! Pass the moose please (but not the tongue because who knows what it has been licking😄). In all seriousness food security is certainly becoming an issue.
