I totally agree considering we pay a lot to keep the house warm in winter.

There are areas outside of central Manchester where you will find affordable accommodation as a Band 5. Examples are Droylsden; it’s about 16 minutes drive to Royal infirmary, Oldham is about 30 minutes drive. I live in Stockport and it’s just 12 minutes drive to Royal Infirmary. You have several options if you don’t want to live in the heart of Manchester due to high cost of renting considering accommodations very close to the hospital are quite pricy. 1 bed flat in the hospital area is about £1000 on the average. So you may want to do the maths and choose if you wouldn’t mind living farther away from the hospital at a cheaper accommodation but with longer commute time to work or living close to work, spending more on rent but shorter commute time to work.

Cardigans, sweaters and few thick clothing just incase the weather is too cold for your baby initially but don’t pack too much as everything your baby will need is available here anyways at affordable rates. I’d just advise you come with your traditional food stuffs for your own consumption. Also, come with tour baby’s immunisation records or any medical documentation as necessary. Hope these help.
