Compared to West Palm Beach, Columbus is a deal..I may get transferred from wpb to Columbus. My company sent my wife and I up here to see Columbus. I liked the fact I wasn't dripping wet at all walking downtown. Plenty of restaurants. We now are hoping and pushing for xfer here. The price of apartments are crazy affordable..we can definitely upgrade location and luxury of our apartment vs west palm beach..for $2k to $2.2k, I think we can have a 2/2 close to action..we want to be urban. So we can walk everywhere we need to

I live in Olde Towne East, next to Franklin Park. You will be lucky to find anything to rent out here, and when you do it'll be on the fringes, in dwellings that were $450 a month 4 years ago and now $1800. Gentrification is real.

I lived and worked there in Columbus for 20 yrw, when I retired I could no longer afford it and moved back up North. Amazing differences. Groceries are half if not even less than there in Cols. Same with most everything else, even at Walmart ! You can't touch a decent house in Columbus for under 1/4 million dollars ! I had a average 1 bedroom apartment ( 890 sq. Ft) with NO garage, cost was $1100/Mo. Rent would increase $25 to $50/mo every year - I lived in that apt for 12 yrs... Its actually cheaper to eat in restraunts in Columbus then to buy your own groceries !!! example: A T-Bone steak runs $14 to $18/Lb. I can get a fully cooked, 3 course 14 oz steak at a average restraunt for around $16...So there you have it.

income taxes and real estate taxes have increased substantially in the last few years in Columbus Ohio,and will be going up more in the future. right now,it's actually better to rent in Columbus Ohio.Houses are way overpriced. stay away from the Hilltop,very high crime area. the best part of the city to live in is the northwest side(Henderson rd,Bethel rd).rent is still reasonable but crime is very low.

I used to be statuoned in Columbus on military assignment and I lived and worked in Blacklick which was a really nice area. I'll be retiring soon and I'm seriously considering moving back there.

Moving there soon, sounds great. I live in Findlay, Ohio and it is a really hick wanna be city. They charge about the same rent as columbus. Absolutly nothing to do in Findlay but they are snooty and charge as much as a city.

What is there to do for the average low income person, family and teens in Columbus? There’s nothing to do in the winter especially! Going for bike rides, the park and hiking are not what teens want to do over and over..

Thinking about moving here. We live in S Fl where it is so crowded, hot, and expensive. We paid 1400 for 2 bedroom condo, it wasn’t that great and wasn’t in a large city or anything. We’d like to buy a home outside of Columbus (ie where we can have some space or land). Any suggestions on what cities to look at?
