Ah lads, the lady is just giving an informative talk on living in Dublin.....she didn't say a black person living in Dublin, or immigrants living in Dublin......what's with all the negative comments about race and stealing jobs! If you want a good job so much go out and work for it. Most people have to start from bottom up, not get handed it. It just so happens that most people that move here from other countries are prepared to put in the work. Her video would apply even if it was someone moving from Sligo or Galway to live in Dublin!
@@pab3993 ....I want telling you immigration hasn't hard an effect. That wasn't what my comment said atall.....! Anyway, there was plenty gangs in this country causing problems. Shootings, stabbings etc..... And you say about terrorists..... oh ya, it was all foreigners that planted the omagh bomb...........
@@pab3993 It's the likes of you that would want us to stay like the stereotypical view of good old Ireland..... flat caps, footing turf in the bog, donkey and cart and thatched cottages. As nice as that was, we have to move with the times and share this country!!
Very informative video. I'm from Dublin but live in the UK. However, I go 'home' quite a few times each year. I think Dublin is like any other cosmopolitan city. I think the wages are generally better than in the UK. Keep your videos coming. Well done💚🇮🇪
You dont have to rent in central Dublin. There is plenty of transport to take you into Dublin. Try Co. Meath, like Dunboyne, Ratoath, those areas might be cheaper outside Dublin. Electricity is every 2 months and can be so expensive in Winter. Health is ridiculous, you pay EUR50 anytime you see the doctor and if you attend the hospital you pay EUR100 (no charge if you have a medical card), most medication is expensive too, car insurance is exorbitant, I would ring lots of different insurance companies . Car tax is ridiculous too. The cinema is ok but the cinema bags and popcorn cost too much. Lidl & Aldi are the best to shop in for your groceries. Going out is a lot, but your always guaranteed a great night. Going out for dinner is nice but can be expensive. What makes me laugh the most is anytime a national holiday is coming up like Christmas or Easter, the Irish go to the supermarket and its like the world is ending the amount of food they put in their trollys to stock up. Its so funny to watch.
I'm from New York and we have a lot of those major expenses here too except our healthcare is making people bankrupt and our care we receive is an absolute joke. All in all it actually seems cheaper to live in central Dublin than it is to live about an hour and 45 (I'm in central Long Island) out of Manhattan.
I'm Irish and I advice people to avoid here now I have a few Polish friends here who say they're gona head back home soon because they are finding it extremely hard between crap wages, high rent and high cost of living unless you have a very good job here as in 700-800 euro a week after deductions you will struggle financially without a doubt as the government tells everyone the average wage is 50,000 if you have a very good job maybe but highly unlikely the realistic wage 15-25,000 at best for average people
After living in ireland/dublin/meath for nearly 6 years my input would be "avoid" it. Rents are very high, car insurance expensive, motor tax very expensive, home broadband expensive, houses to buy very expensive., etc, etc. Per total it doesn't worth it and if i would not have kids at school here i would leave the country straight away. (personal opinion coming from my experience)
Im living in Dublin 49 years now and its so cheap,do not believe the horror stories! It has very average living expenses indeed and rent is for nothing, one can get by so easily here, there is absolutely zero racism like maybe in London or New York as the lrish love everybody and everybody loves us,l have never seen racism in my city even once. There is practically no crime as we are such a friendly nation. Dublin is just an amazing city and we literally have no problems except there are too many jobs to fill!
Daniel Malone, Don't tell them that, they won't understand that it's sarcasm. The truth is, lovely people, that there are thousands of people homeless and living on the streets of Dublin, including over three thousand children, respectable people are having to sleep for years in junkie hostels with their children because there is literally nowhere to sleep in Dublin, it's now 2018 and rents for a bedsit are 1,650 euros to 1,850 euros, there are no jobs, not even for Irish people, and no-one in Ireland can afford to go out except very rich tourists, childcare costs are extortionate, there's no such thing as kindergarten and educating even one child is extremely expensive because parents have to buy all the expensive schoolbooks and school supplies and pay school insurance for their child, you don't get schoolbooks free like they do in England. Dublin is now the 9th most violent city in the entire world, we had about 23 gangland murders in broad daylight in Dublin city last year, people shooting outside schools and people's flats, and that's to say nothing about all the other murders. As for racism, I'll give you a hint; Conor McGregor is Irish. All of Ireland is in a very bad situation because of the 2008 world economic collapse which destroyed Ireland, a lot of the population is now unemployed and homeless, and because Britain is leaving the EU soon, the Irish government are bringing in a bill to prevent any more immigrants getting any form of Irish welfare from now on. I'm Irish and I would love to leave Ireland but I can't afford to.If you want to verify any of what I've told you, look up a reputable source about the homelessness problem in Ireland, the unemployment and gangland crime problems here, the ridiculous expense of childcare etc.
There is not zero racism. Search 'Irish Racism' here and see what comes up. If you're Irish and white, you might not notice. Dubliners are now paying 50% of their salary on rent. The average rent is over €2,000 a month. We are in the middle of a rent crisis and homelessness is growing monthly. People are renting out rooms in houses for two people sharing at €700 each.
Dublin is very expensive place to live..from Ireland, I love visiting Dublin for shows and fun... Dublin is a lovely city... On the tax you do get a tax free allowance before tax... There won't be any water tax or bill to pay its been stopped.. Childcare is ridiculous.. Yep we got lots of crazy drivers in Dublin.. Luas tram is great..
MsIGetLotOfThat Her rent figures are probably out of date.Video uploaded nearly two years ago and her figures may relate to a couple of years before that again.Early 2000s Ireland booming ,record rents recorded by 2008.2008crash ,imploding banking system including the rotten American banking system,2013-properties and rents at lowest in recent years.2014 recovery in property begins. 2018 rents in Dublin ,on average,15% above 2008 highs. Cost of living in a city is relative, depends on your salary, how much tax you pay, where in a city you wish to live, rental costs, housing stock available and how many are competing to purchase/rent.
Too much racism in Ireland...! Its my first time to see a flog with so much racist comments. I can name couple of girls doing the similar blog thing here in the UK, you wouldn't see this negativity! Well done put a brave heart and face keep going to all the black people in Ireland hustle on!! We hear u!
Nhlanzeko ninela that's bs there's marches in England every week about not letting foreigners into the country and I'm Irish but I've never actually seen people being racist and I went to a school were half the people weren't Irish
Mary Rose Dwyer 1. I agree only the uneducated are racist 2. A lot of Irish people want out of the eu it's tearing our country apart for there benefit 3.the mass immigration to Ireland isn't a good thing look at the 2040 plan and you will see why we need to leave the eu
Loved this! This was so helpful I went to Ireland I visited Shannon saw the Cliffs of Moher I LOVED IT! and we're thinking about coming back to visit Dublin & Cork! so this was helpful with all the currency break down thank you girl!!! 💕🤗
Thank you for sharing this video. Very informative especially to me that is moving to Dublin in the next couple of months! I hope I get to see you in the future (maybe?). Btw, you just earned a new subscriber! Keep up with the vids. I love them :)
You're very much welcome. If only you knew how thankful I was when I found your videos. I found almost everything I needed in a single channel! Please keep posting more videos of the beautiful Dublin. Also, can you please share an insight (or maybe even a video!) about which areas you think are the best to live in and how expensive/inexpensive they are? I'd love to hear about it. Oh and let me edit my previous comment. I am moving in the next couple "weeks" not months haha!!! Can't wait. :)
You advise ireland for a 21 year old with a tech background, currently 4000+ job openings for my area. To emigrate? And how much do you make so i can have a basic notion ?
@@applecrazy1 sensitive question buddy , kinda rude to ask someone’s salary. There is plenty of jobs in tech open here and if you speak a second language plus English , easy to get in. However rent is expensive here so might end up in sharing accommodation at start , so best advice, make your job application before you get here and come here once you secured a job , the least an interview if you have some cash for hotel . Hope it helps. Cool.
@@applecrazy1 cool. tech jobs would start minimum without experience from 1500€ per month ( that is the lowest salary with no work experience ) to 2000€ ( with experience ) and above with at least 2-3 years work experience in your field. Check rent.ie or daft.ie will give idea of rental in Dublin , depending of where you want to live . I will be honest with you most of young people live in a share accommodation or rent a studio apartment which is a bit much expensive comparing renting a room. Room in sword will go from 500€ plus deposit per month and one bedroom apartment from 1200€ ( min ) . Hope it helps . Good luck 😉
If you're from Pakistan or Nigeria you get free everything ,free hotel free food free healthcare free dental free school and college and you get to step over Irish people sleeping in the streets
Living in Dublin wow 👌 when I was young a pint was 25 pence and a bag of chips was 12 pence a pair of docs was 7 pound and addidas runners were 13 pound Puma runners 10 pound we got combat jackets in the army store for a fiver and we use to go to tonners and watch the rock band The night shift 1 pound in and the Baggott Inn to watch Kathmandu ⌚ smoke some grass great great days 👍 however it's fucked up now
Good video. Thanks for the information. It's similar to here in Finland, especially the incomes and also the tax rates. The rent is close enough, but here alot depends on the city you are in. Student apartments are the cheapest. 😘
Hi I am doing my process with nmbi and signed a cotract quoting a monthly 3800 . I was wondering if the salary is sufficient for a single person to survive in Dublin . I heard Dublin is far expensive . Hope u share your insight. Thanks.
This video was really helpful, I am relocating from the UK to Ireland with my GF in a few months and this helped alot. I have some more questions about Dublin..do you have an email I could pop them to?
Why is so expensive to Dublin Ireland? Why is minimum age so low in Ireland, how come the pay you get doesn’t equate the cost of living, how come you make so little in Ireland but the cost of living is so high? This sounds like America, UK, Germany
Jeez and there we are all hoping to move to Spain! 😂 Best of luck. Finding an apartment is a total nightmare and weather is shit. Best time for apartment hunting is in June when students go home
@@laraking804Oh.. Nice. Thanks for the heads up. Spain will surely suit you. Presently, we live in a 3bedroom apartment and we pay €350 monthly. Transportation is great. Weather is amazing. The only problem is language adaptation and getting a job. Also, minimum wage is on the low side. It shows we can't have it all. Lol
joyce ngozi I think overall you would still have a better life quality in Spain than in Ireland in my opinion. Despite job and salary situation. You have better weather, no massive electricity bill (mine is around €160/month) food is fresh and local and much cheaper the list goes on... Yes wages can be better but only in certain types of jobs. And the cost of living is so high that the higher wages won’t make much of a difference. And if you end up with a low paying job you will be struggling for real. Don’t want to put you off from your plans but right now until the rental and property crisis is fixed it’s not a good time to come. There are new restrictions coming in in June/July for AirBnb rentals which should release a few properties back into the long term rental market. Currently a one bedroom apartment and that is if you’re lucky enough to beat the other 100 viewers to it is at around €1600-2300 here in Dublin. Dublin is the worst hit by the rental crisis. If you really do want to come to Ireland I would recommend avoiding Dublin but then again that’s where the jobs are 🤷♀️
You have to be earning above a given threshold. The old or people with congenital diseases are excused from fees, hospital bills and medication costs. Plus citizens get a medical card under certain conditions. About 30% of the population have a medical card. The rest are above the threshold. But think about that €50 cost. ....taking the day or morning off work will cost you a lot more than €50 anyway.... She's young, healthy, has a relatively good job and likely isn't a citizen anyway.
that jumpsuit is beautiful, I like that you educate us . My cousin's name ... Chinyere , one of my closest friend, Chichi, other closest friend... chinye ..lol tfs , very informative the Euro is indeed strong , God help our Naira . 10 other people ? lol, the landlord will go crazy ... persons unknown .
Living in Dublin has always been vastly expensive. But i blame the governments of Ireland. They have never have tried to make life affordable for its people. During the celtic tiger years they should have tried to make life easier for their people. Their disgusting attitude to its citizens is oh let them emigrate and let it become some other countries problem. Taking a Pontius Pilate attitude to the problem. Maybe they have never asked themselves that they didn't want to but had to emigrate for necessity. I live in Northern Ireland and i never want to live in a united Ireland as you couldn't live it is far too expensive. Trouble is there is so many idiots who want this actual thing. Also i wouldn't want to be drinking poisonous fluoride water which causes dementia which is in the water down south. Dublin is good if you are a millionaire as you would need to be to live comfortably.
nice video. but as regards the creche i guess it depends on the creche and the area in dublin. you can get from 500, 600. full time and its kinda challenging to put your child in .so you need to book ahead
Hello Chinyere I got the job offer 2580 Euro per month after tax deduction. I have 2 years son and so we are 3 family member. I just wanted to know whether is this 2580 euro sufficient for to survive alone with my family. Please reply me.
If you earn 28-30k per year, how much tax u need to pay? Do they keep the tax directly from bank account or I have to do a tax application form or smth ? Pls help, thanx
I am wishing to sponsor my little Sis to study in Dublin but she has no maths in her O'levels not sure which college will accept her ,i am looking for a budget of about €10 000 per year cost of living and fees is not a problem i can sponsor her. Please assist thanks
Can we cover this expenses by earning from a part time job!! Is it possible for an international student to support himself by these part time jobs!!! Or he want to live in a state where spending is a bit more than earning!!!?? Or both of these will be equal!??
Jeremiah 17:9-10 King James Version 9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Thank you for this! You talked about how jobs pay about 800 Euros. Could you please tell me if that's full time jobs or part time? Also, how much do part time jobs pay? Thanks again!

Good to see you're assimilating into and contributing to Irish society. Unfortunately the same can't be said for many of the new third world migrants to Ireland. Anyway, best of luck in Ireland!
